Description

Venusz is a three-star hotel in Siófok, Hungary, constructed in 1960 and renovated in 2011. It offers a range of room types including Standard, Comfort, and balconies with views, although many guests note the rooms are small and show signs of aging. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, free parking, and a bar open around the clock. While some visitors appreciate the helpful staff and proximity to local nightlife and the beach, others criticize the dated interiors, lack of air conditioning, and limited soundproofing. Cleanliness and room comfort ratings are generally low, with several reports of dated furnishings and small bathrooms. Breakfast is served and considered sufficient by some guests. If you prioritize location near the main beach and clubs over modern amenities, Venusz may be a practical option, but expect basic facilities and some noise from nearby parties.

Location

Venusz is located on Kinizsi utca, about 172 meters from the Move Restaurant and 177 meters from Brownie Restaurant Cafe & Lounge. The main beach of Siófok is within walking distance, making it convenient for beach visits. The hotel is roughly 108 km from Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD), requiring a drive to reach. Its position near the clubbing street places guests close to nightlife options, though some reviews mention noise from nearby parties. Street parking is available nearby, and the hotel also offers free private parking.

Tips

  • Bring earplugs due to limited soundproofing and potential noise from nearby parties.
  • Request a room with a balcony to help with ventilation during hot weather since there is no air conditioning.
  • Confirm parking arrangements upon arrival to avoid unexpected charges.

Really expensive for what it offers. Terrible rooms, just half renovated, tiny bathroom, max. 3sqm. Windows from the 70s, you can hear everything whats happening outside. If you want to go back to communist era, this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, avoid.

Don't even think to book this "hotel". Nothing even close with pictures attached.

No AC (during summer is 50° in the room).

Parking PAID 9 euros per night.

"Modern room" is small that two people can't turn around & no space to put luggage.

Hygiene level close to 0.

Receptionist barely speaks English.

Paid for 5 nights - left after 10 minutes from arrival. "Manager" rejected refund.

Shame!

+: Location close to main beach, 24/7 Reception for late check-in/out, Daily reception efficient, breakfast correct, private parking spot accessible with a parking card to easily come and go. Even if no aircon rooms are equipped with standing ventilators.

-: Hotel needs refurbishment (thin rooms door with old mechanical keys), missing safety boxe, think about taking earplugs as rooms aren’t so soundproof + parties in the area. No soap is provided in the shower. No extra tower for the beach.

In addition: we experienced delayed check-in at 1am (30 min - 40 min) as the new night receptionnist wasn’t able to process us quickly and even came to the room after letting us go, while he wasn’t able to solve the problem that could wait the day after and offered me a coffee, at 2am, nice attention but not at that time. Still we got some apologies.
I hope we were just out of luck.

I'd give -100 stars, if it would be possible. Awful place! Nightmare! The room, but actually the whole hotel and the restaurant were absolutely icky, dirty and disgusting. The very first thing I saw after opening eyes in the morning was a big spider just next to my head. We booked a room named on booking "designer" - excuse me?! What was designer there? Maybe an old cathode ray tube television?? The bedclothes were a nightmare. If you are tired, don't stay there. You will get more tired than before. Don't stay there anyway. Super expensive stay offering nothing more than just a dirty awful room. The breakfast was another disaster, coffee tasted like a brown water. We do not recommend this place at all.

So many good things about this hotel:
1. Reasonably priced.
2. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Although the bathroom is small, the shower head compensates for it.
3. Plentiful breakfast with cold cuts/cheese/scrambled eggs/pastries. I also requested for chicken ham because I do not eat pork and they provided it.
4. Staff is kind and helpful.
5. Bar is open 24hrs.
6. Conveniently located close to the clubbing street and a strand.
7. Lots of food places around.
8. The heat issue can be easily solved by opening the door to the balcony.
9. You can find street parking just outside.

I will definitely stay there again if I am in Siofok.

Was just a one night stop, which turned out to be rather traumatic for my friends and myself. Unsure if due to the storm that night or if it's always like that, but every room was full of spiders around the windows, inside and outside alike. Being exhausted after a 12 hour drive, once my fiancee swept through and killed like 6 of them in our room, managed to pass out for 3 hours ,had a semi decent breakfast and got the hell out.

I think it's the first time I stay in a hotel older than me, at least it seems, just missed some socialist nation's stamp in my passport. Wifi didn't reach my room (29), just in the middle of corridor. Shower has annoying curtain that would all the time get coldly in touch with your body. No soap/shampoo/etc. No towels for face. Dirty and uncovered glasses for use. No air conditioning. Bar in the lobby was closed on a Friday night since early in the evening while very impolite senior guy at reception was saying he didn't own the bar. No elevator. No power connection closed to bed. I think I have seen such TV in some museum, not sure. No safe. Outside noise coming directly into the room. Not enough parking lot. Noisy and bad smelling fridge. At least all those bedbugs loved my skin, it's nice to feel loved. Would definitely recommend, as target for testing some air strike.

Clean and renovated rooms, friendly staff, close to the beach and main attractions

Good hotel, dont expect much of the breakfast. But rooms are nice and clean

Great place, close to the beach, nice staff. I only give 4 stars, because there is no AC and a small tv with 10 channels to watch.

Not impressed at all. Hotel is very dated, it was like trip back in time to 70's - and we booked deluxe room! Rooms are very small, barely furnished, with lovely smell of toilet all throughout. Security is nonexistant as door are made of cardboard. Whole place had a feel of dorm as you meet drunken people brushing their teeth in the hallway while holding bottle of whisky. Not recommended unless you planning to be drunk most of the time. Receptionist spoke no English - he did not even know what 'check out or towel' is! Definitely was not value for our money!
