More like a backpackers hostel than a guest house. Clean but very basic - especially considering the price. Tiny bathroom (no problem for us - but a larger person would not squeeze through the shower door). There is a shared kitchen with a coffee machine which is a plus. Kind customer service on the phone - but no one on site. No place to store luggage after 11am check out time.

We were moved because our original booking cancelled. I didn't receive the PIN details to check in until I phones when we were here.

Convenient with nice amenities
The room (family triple with private bathroom) was on the lower level and was easily accessible managing some stairs. It was large and welcoming for the two of us with outlets readily available by the bedsides for charging. The private shower fluctuated a bit on temp but nothing unreasonable. The main bed was very hard and not forgiving if you a side-sleeper. We found parking around the guest house easy to find but walked to everything versus drive.

Paint peeling from all windows. Leaking faucet. Could not fully stand up except in front of tv. Very strong smell of drain water. Sink drains very very slow. Cannot fully close windows. Sheets & towels were clean.

We really liked the room size and the private bathroom. Bed was comfortable.
We were unable to open the front door using the access code provided to us via email, but it worked for the back door. The drapes in the room should extend over the entire window, but they do not.
Overall a very good stay despite some minor issues.

1. The location is convenient, within a 10-minute walk of Reykjavik's popular attractions, including the cathedral and the main street. 2. Free parking is available right outside the hotel, perfect for those driving. 3. The hotel has a spacious kitchen and dining room, fully stocked with bowls, pots, and other utensils, perfect for families who want to cook. (We brought a small multicooker and bought ingredients at Yachao in Reykjavik, then made hot pot in the spacious dining room, which was a fantastic experience.) 4. On our first day, we stayed in room 3B (which didn't have a private bathroom or shower; it was shared), and on our second day, we stayed in room 1C (which had a private bathroom and shower, and the kitchen and dining room were right outside the door, very convenient). 5. Every morning between 6:30 and 7:00, the hotel leaves a paper bag for breakfast at your room's door. It's a full breakfast spread, including croissants (crispy and chewy, very delicious), toasted brown bread, butter, jam, cheese, fruit, and juice. The portions were so generous that the three of us couldn't finish them all each morning. Overall, this hotel is an excellent value, very satisfying, and highly recommended.

Very nice and calm place to relax after Iceland trip. Clean and comfortable.

I am very angry, the photos and the actual room situation are completely different. I booked this homestay in March and planned to stay for seven consecutive nights in June. However, what I got was a room located underground, which was very small and had poor lighting. I tried to contact the landlord several times, hoping to change the room, but he said that other single rooms had been reserved by other guests. However, the room that was exactly the same as the picture on the booking website was vacant that day.

Check in instructions were sent by a random email and marked as spam.
We didn't see a member of staff the entire stay.
We booked with breakfast included, but got an email saying that we didn't have breakfast. Then we got a bag of sad looking rolls left outside our door in the morning, with no chance to make the hotel aware of our allergies.
The room itself was fine, comfortable beds but strange shower setup and the worst tap water we experienced in Iceland.

Great value for a comfortable stay walking distance from the center. Rooms with shared bathrooms that are clean and have the essentials. Room (triple) was spacious with bedding and towels included. No breakfast in winter months but plenty options nearby.

The spirit of USA "bar food" cuisine is present, even if the accuracy of the combinations is a near miss. The mac & cheese was gourmet... and the burger topping. This initially seemed odd, until I considered the pulled pork topped burgers or breakfast burgers that are common specials back home. Well done guys!

Very tasty veggy burger. Greasy but amazing fries. 4 star because the restaurant randomly serves me either vegan or vegetarian burger when I order vegetarian. Both are good but one is better than the other. Recommended.

Give this place a try, you might like it. I was a little skeptical about Icelandic BBQ, but trust me, the food is pretty good. 2,395 for 1/2 rack of baby back ribs (big portion) plus well made fries and fennel cole slaw. My barometer is if it tastes good as well as if it's satisfying. This place qualifies both. Oh, I got great service at the bar.
