Reviews
We stay all over the world.
We usually do have a “budget friendly” night which is what this was for us… and I wish I had spent our money elsewhere.
Everything needs a thorough clean. The bathrooms especially are dilapidated, and the grout lines were so gross…. The mattresses were literally like sleeping on box springs. I wish I were exaggerating. You’d find better mattresses in a jail, I’d wager.
If you thought “oh, it would be nice to sit in the lobby with friends/ family and enjoy a snack/lunch”. Think again. They will not allow food unless it’s ordered in their restaurant, or in your room. No eating whatsoever in the lobby areas. Which seemed weird honestly.
The whole experience left something to be desired, and I regret that we booked here.
We raised this issue with the hotel, but the handling of the problem was not proactive and lacked a sincere attitude, which was disappointing. A hotel at this price level should have much better standards for both privacy protection and customer service.
Not recommend Fosshotel Stykkisholmur!
The breakfast is perfect, as always, and so is the staff.
Also, take the opportunity to greet the guard when you enter. The guard is, namely, a white cat.
The city center is also within walking distance, as are a Bonus supermarket and restaurants.
