Classification case of a great location but badly maintained hotel, quite common across the Kolkata. These places charge you upwards of 3-4k for tiny damaged rooms, with dirty switches & broken flooring or windows. They need to clean the place properly. Very low hygiene standards overall. Food is very average too. Don't waste your time and money here.

Enjoyed the stay . Nice hotel with nice ambience and staff. Front Desk very helpful. Rooms size and decor perfect. Complete Breakfast spread both Indian & American . Location excellent with easy access to tourist attractions. Planning to visit again soon.

My husband and I stayed at Metropole in the first week of March 2025 . Would love express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the hotel . Location is very good .The staff in the reception , house keeping , in house restaurant and security - all were extremely helpful and friendly . I would like to appreciate specially Miss Riju from the Reception who tries her best to make the customers happy . She has a very positive vibes . not worth the price point. i got small room and lock was broken. lightning was very dim. no remote for ac. tv remote was also broken. fridge not maintained. toilet seat was not opening properly. the food was costly as well.

A very run down and overpriced hotel. Room had a little dampness on the walls and ceiling. They had not been painted in a long time. Door handles, hardware were broken and not locking properly. Sockets were worn out from overuse. They were using a room freshner to hide the damp smell. Terrible experience.

The location is outstanding! The hotel staff was fantastic and went above an beyond their call of duty to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. Having said that, the rooms were dingy, shabby and musty. There was incredible contrast between the rooms and everything else associated with the hotel. The photos are not real -- I don't think the walls have seen a fresh coat of paint in decades! Unless they do something about it, I'm not coming back.

The worst experience ever .... they serve sub standard food quality at a very high price and when u complian they have kept goondas for the reply .. the owner is not considered what costumers . .. they will shout on you and embarrass you ... don't go .... they are many other better options

I have always loved this ccd. The place is always so full of energy. And the staff is also very prompt and attentive. They also have a smoking are for smokers. I am very particular that I like my coffee strong and they aways remember to do it well.

This place is very neat and clean. Relaxing place to have chat with friends and family with a cup of excellent coffee. Seats are also available to put your legs crossed on top of the couch and have a homely relaxing feelings. Ambience is very cosy and comforting. Must visit for an enjoyable evening with a great taste of coffee.

Nice homely place with unique offer of dishes. You typically will not get these south indian dishes in the city - fish and mutton in kerala style. The price is reasonable.
They also rent out the hall for small parties of 20 to 40. And you can select items outside the regular menu as well.

Every time I go there it is special. They offer both north and south Indian cuisine and both are excellent. The soups and starters are very delicious. Main courses are served with a variety of side dishes. Nice atmosphere. They welcome their customers with a drink I love very much. Nice interior. Not very costly.

Pure south indian food... Very tasty.... Very good family ambience... Good service by staff... Bit expensive... Approx 1500 for 2... Worth a visit!!

Most "South Indian" restaurants are vegetarian. The population in Kolkata dig their meat and fish. Tamarind brings just that (and the usual veggies) to the table with style. Try the mutton sukka. You will come back for more. Parking is difficult to find. Not wheelchair friendly. One has to climb a flight if stairs.
