We stayed at Vivanta for 1 week. The hotel’s breakfast was good. And the rooms were spacious and clean. Housekeeping staffs were very nice and friendly. We traveled to Kolkata to attend my cousin’s wedding. The hotel is near to the wedding venue and the groom’s parents house. Location of the hotel to a lot of the places in Kolkata is very convenient.

Excellent location and service, checkin was a breeze, even though we were early at 12:30 We ordered food in evening room service and same was of good quality and taste 👍 Will come definitely come back again.

While everything else was good, I found that wash basin in the bathroom wasn't clean which was a slight put off in otherwise a nice experience.

Hotel is close to airport. Not walkable per se . Rooms are nice with all basic amenities. Liked the food. Overall a very good option near Kolkata airport.

The hotel staff were very kind and provided excellent service. I was planning to stay at a different hotel the next day, and since I couldn’t speak English well, I asked them to make a phone call for me, and they kindly agreed to help. The hotel was in a great location and room was fine, unfortunately the bedding was damp and really smelt bad. We arrived after a late flight so just put up with it, the hotel were very apologetic when we told them.

The surroundings were dirty and messy, and the front desk staff had a terrible attitude. They offered no help with any customer requests.

This property has one thing going for it .. location! The cleanliness of bathrooms needs attention.The buffet likewise is not appealing and items are often running out and staff are not proactively rectifying. My recent stay at Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport was quite disappointing. The property feels run down and in urgent need of a major renovation. The water had an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom fittings seem well past their usable life. The rooms do not live up to IHG standards, especially considering the price paid. I booked a deluxe twin bed room but they provide sinngle & their room was not good. Ac problem, refrigerator missing. In room service I called for a towel but they were busy & did not send it to the room. Even for laundry & two sweets they charge high..

The staff forgets sometimes for what they have asked the client to hold on. Happened with me, whereas I was asked to wait during check-in and later the same person asked me why I was waiting.

The price paid for the room is not worth staying at this hotel. 1. No hair dryer, no refrigerator 2. The food is not very tasty, it is traditional Indian food. 3.There is limited parking for Uber in front of the hotel.

Nice place for stay with family

The suite was quite large, and the cleanliness and service were all good. The food in the restaurant was also quite good. There's also a Bangladeshi restaurant where you can try Bangladeshi cuisine. The meals were quite international, with some Indian specialties. Overall, I was quite satisfied.

Clean and well maintained hotel

My friend and I decided to stay here because of the location and reviews. It was a good location…honestly we Ubered everywhere but it seemed like a good base. The room was tinier than expected, but met our needs. It was clean, everything worked, no one bothered us when we had our “don’t bother us” sign on. The shower was ok…could have been hotter, but good pressure. I do wish we had been able to check...

We booked for 4 nights and will definitely be staying again next time we visit Kolkata. The rooms are cosy, spotlessly clean, and well appointed with any facilities you require. Check in was at 2 pm but room was not ready even at 3 pm. The AC was not very effective, even at 16 degrees, was barely cool. Bed linen had stain marks and furnishings were faded and worn. Marks and stains on furniture. Staff were helpful.

The Elgin hotel is a beautiful old lady that needs a little bit of an up left but to compensate for that the quality of the food and the service and the interaction with the staff is five stars plus, I would definitely recommend anyone that’s looking for a wonderful place to stay to stay there we will gladly stay there again. This a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths...

The hotel's historic character is charming; the staff were helpful; and the breakfast buffet at the patio cafe was very good. Our room was a bit quirky: it opened directly onto the dining room, and there was no partition between the shower and the rest of the bathroom.

Property is located at a nice place however the rooms are not that good..., the washroom had no water... ,there was no TV as mentioned and the bedsheet covers were torned apart also the service staff asked us to come off platform and not to make payments through the platform... in my opinion not expected to had such a bad time... was only there for a couple hours then left as it was not that good.

This hotel is located in a really good place , it's ambiance is just awesome & best part is in morning wake up with the temples bells sounds . I suggest people to stay there because not only place it's located near the sealdah railway station so you can easily travel by walk . I'm also stay there in future whenever I came to visit Calcutta .❤️
