I stayed at Hotel Kempton in a Premium Room, and while the location is definitely a strong point—being very close and easily accessible to Park Street Metro Station—the overall experience was quite underwhelming. The room did not meet expectations for a premium category. It felt shabby, with linen that was visibly stained and not properly cleaned. The washroom hygiene was also disappointing—the washbasin wasn’t cleaned properly, and there was noticeable peeling paint on the bathroom door and ceiling, which gave a poorly maintained impression. Although the staff was polite and courteous, the service lacked efficiency. Most queries were met with “we’ll get back to you,” but there was little to no follow-up, which was frustrating. Another downside is the noise level. Since the hotel is located on a busy road, there is constant traffic and street noise that continues late into the night, making it difficult to relax. Breakfast had a decent variety, but the food was often cold. Additionally, the breakfast area is quite small and tends to get crowded during peak hours. Overall, while the location is convenient, the hotel falls short in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards. I would recommend improvements in these areas to justify the pricing and room category.

Kempton is a good 3 star perhaps masquerading as a 4 star. I stayed in an Imperial room with a wonderful giant tub, spotlessly clean, very friendly maids, porters and helpful management. I arrived at 3am which meant rousing everyone from the security guard to a tired check in clerk, but all was okay. Be aware that for a European the breakfast is poor and this is a "family hotel" so no alcohol at dinner which is entirely Indian dishes save a couple of Chinese ones. 9am -4pm there was a loud banging as some building work was going on. It is however excellent value and worth its modest price for the large rooms.

Very nice hotel in a very busy part of the city. Very clean with courteous people who are willing to help. Room is well made with proper supplies. Food is excellent and tasty... 24 hrs room service is real time. I would recommend this Hotel...Price can be little off the budget but can be looked into.

Convenient location, close to new market and park street. Hotel staffs are well mannered, breakfast is good. Bangladeshi bus counters are on the same road and there are a lot of money exchanges available.

The hotel is situated in the main city area near Park Street. Many of the tourist places are situated in the vicinity of the hotel. The staff and room service was good. The staff was courteous. The breakfast was very good all the days of our stay. We had dinner also 2 days. The dishes were delicious. We recommend the people for stay. However since the property is old the bathroom fittings etc were old and needed renovation.. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

Don’t go . No manager or any person to attend issue , I tried whole day they told us we will link you asap at the end it was told there is no manager and owner won’t talk. Denied milk from buffet for infant or boiled water kttle was smelly still told me to use it for my child. Food served cold when told to reheat we were told we cannot accept food from room back to kitchen. All this is height of misbehaving.

i felt it's over rated and bit expensive when compared to other hotels in the area. not recommended for back packer or people like.me who don't want to spend extra for same quality food found outside

A sheer paradise for the ones who would like to have some authentic Bangla cuisine. They have a perfect blend of varieties and taste to satisfy your cravings of pure bangla cuisine. A must visit place indeed. A 4 on 5 as the ambience is not that good. But who cares of ambience when you get such lip smacking, finger licking food?

Located at the heart of the city this is best place in Kolkata for bengali dishes more particularly Bangladeshi dishes. Prices reasonable. Taste yummy.

Located right on Mirza Ghalib Street, it serves authentic Bengali cuisines, although the pricing isn’t pocket friendly. Service has been great so far, although there’s room for improvement. Ambience is nice and quality of food is usually good. This outlet has been opened after their initial success in other outlets in the city and they have been doing a good job with traditional food being served in clean and efficient manner.
