Hotel l'Approdo in Marina di Leuca

We were very excited to arrive at this hotel for our honeymoon as the photos on the internet looked amazing.
On arrival, after several emails prior to arrival to arrange parking we were met with disappointment as there were none and we were told to park on the street (which is impossible due to narrow roads). We managed to get a park on site about 20 minutes later.
I was greeted by a man that literally said “Passports?!” He then gave me a key to the room but that was literally it. Nothing about where dinner, breakfast or amenities were until I had to come back and ask. Although previous reviews also commented on the rudeness when they arrived, they were 100% RIGHT!
The decor in reception is lovely, the restaurant and pool area also lovely. The room is old and needs many things repaired. Balcony door very hard to open, shutter old and gets stuck, shower is so tiny that when you turn around you accidentally bump the tap to cold. We had to wipe our feet to get into bed as the floors were filthy. The air con spits water and is only just cool which was a shame as none of the hotel has air conditioning.
They need to be stricter on the pet rules! I actually love dogs but when there are 2 people with a dog each on a lead barking at each other while others try to get their food and the dog owners trying to hold their dog and get their food was absolutely RIDICULOUS. But then seeing a dog defecate in the dining room made me walk out half way through my meal due to the smell! Surely people don’t need to bring dogs to the food area! Then to be woken all through the night and early morning by the dogs barking was not my ideal way to wake up.
The service staff were ok, none seemed happy to be there.
This hotel was a huge let down and I would not recommend it.
