We had an absolutely magical Christmas at Hotel Hohenwart! From the moment we arrived, the entire family running the hotel made us feel truly at home. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care created an unforgettable family atmosphere that was perfect for us – parents, young kids, and even our dog.

The hotel itself is charming and cozy, and every corner exudes comfort and elegance. The food was exquisite, with flavors that made every meal a delight. Our kids were thrilled with the thoughtful touches and activities, and it was so wonderful to see them enjoying themselves in such a welcoming environment.

We can’t thank the team enough for making our Christmas so special. The combination of a warm, family-run atmosphere and impeccable service makes Hotel Hohenwart a true gem in S-Tyrol. We can’t wait to return!

The Hotel is Superb. It’s very comfortable and clean. Location is excellent! We had so many hikes from the Hotel. Merano is only 50 min hike away.
Food and spa are very good.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Hohenwart in Schenna. This is a family-run gem that masterfully combines genuine warmth with luxurious amenities.
The three-quarter board (3/4 pension) is outstanding! The cuisine is superb and consistently exceeded our expectations – truly a highlight of our trip.
We stayed in the beautiful Rosensuite, which offered a fantastic view and a private terrace for soaking up the scenery.

Perfect family-run warm place with excellent service, modern food, spacious rooms and top tier spa. High above Meran, hotel overlooks the valley. Also, in winter just 5 min from the cable car!

We have not been lucky with our room, spacious but ... with no air conditioning...
Yet, the place is very nice, very well organised, excellent food, great service. So, if you ever need plan to visit and stay, make sure you ask for a room properly equipped.

Best hotel I have ever been too
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The food is amazing and its never ending if that’s what you like. The service is first class and the staff are wonderful: We are from Australia and the only “English” speaking visitors , however, this was not a problem for us as the staff all spoke English. The yoga and pilates is great and the saunas and pools are amazing. We also took advantage of the shuttles to walking areas and the free bus pass that is provided. The landscape and architecture is stunning. I hope to come back one day.

I can only express my warmest compliments for the affectionate welcome given to me and my partner. What characterizes this hotel is mainly the attention to the guest through professionalism and friendliness. You find yourself immersed in an atmosphere of great care and luxury but at the same time you feel like family. We stayed in a room with all the comforts and very clean. Breakfast offered excellent quality foods with niche foods. The excellent restaurant. The saline pool with warm water that allows you to observe the landscape as well as the moon rising above our heads is a gem. On my partner's birthday we were very surprised to receive a present with a bottle and exquisite chocolates. The staff as well as the Mair family showed great courtesy throughout the day that they shared this day. Thanks to all the very professional and friendly staff... Among these a special mention to Mr. Peter. Thank you so much

As a family of four with children aged 10 and 14, we had a pleasant stay at Hohenwart. The food was great, and the breakfast buffet was extensive with a cook-to-order station. The hotel has two wellness areas, one for adults and one for children, and the view over Meran is stunning. However, we found the kids' pricing a bit confusing. Even though the children stayed in a separate room together, both kids were charged the price of a "single stay in a double room", which was €50 more than the adults. Although the 10-year-old received a 60% discount on this elevated price, we still don't understand why the 14-year-old had to pay a "single-stay in double room" price. Comment of the Hotel: "That is how we do things here, this is normal, and we do it like this since 30 years" Not sure but maybe 30 years ago the kids would have slept on the foldaway sofa instead of their own room.

Very helpful staff, amazing views, superb food. In winter it's just a short drive from Merano 2000 ski resort, perfect for beginners and intermediate, both skiers and snowboarders.

The hotel has large rooms and is apparently constantly being renovated. Friendly welcome. Unfortunately there is no kitchen due to a lack of staff, but at least the coffee is run with all available means, which the house has my respect for.
The wellness area is currently under construction and unfortunately cannot be used. I would have liked to have received this information in advance, at least at check-in. It's not a problem, but it was also a decision criterion when booking. I wish the team good stamina and that the corona situation will soon be over.

We stayed 4 nights at Christophs Hotel in Schenna and we enjoyed it. The hotel is located right on the town's main road, opposite the bus stop for Merano. Large and cozy room (furnished in Tyrolean style wood) with a nice balcony. Comfortable bed, daily cleaning and parking for customers. The breakfast is also good and offers a lot of choice.
