Oh, my, what's not to love! The location of this boutique property was lovely and quiet, on a hill overlooking the sea. So peaceful! The food was excellent, the staff so warm and welcoming, so attentive to our every need. A special shout-out to dear Verdiana, one of the bartenders at the outdoor bar, and the security guard. I accidentally left my purse in a small trattoria in Ugento, and the bartender actually stopped there on his way home from work late at night to see if he could retrieve it. Rottacapozza's security guard also went out of his way to help us. Though the trattoria was closed, the wonderful cook and server at Ozon made sure I got it back. All, all was wonderful at this property. We had rented a car at the airport in Brindisi, and this albergo was easy driving distance to Gallipolli, Santa Maria di Leuca, Lecce, and Castro Marina. We took the train from Lecce to visit Polignano a Mare. Everyone we met here at Rottacapozza made our stay memorable. Grazie Mille!!!!

We have never been spoken to as rudely by what I assume to be the manager/owner of this hotel. We checked in sat night having exchanged a marriot son antem week for this through Interval International.
No greeting from him, just thrusting papers with costs for cleaning €50 and €70 to use the pool, football pitch more like prison yard and beach. Transpired the pool is not heated and therefore unusable and their beach was closed.
They have an indoor pool but the cost for this is another €20 euros per day per person. I asked could we not use this instead as the outside pool was not open. This resulted in more flailing of arms, slamming of papers. We were then showed our room which was one of the most depressing spaces I've seen. Dark, tiny with a view of a hedge. I refused to take that room and the younger receptionist whom was very nice showed us to a better room.
They then agreed to give us dinner for free that night and to use the spa for one day. Which we did not accept.
Once in the room it then transpires there is no WiFi or phone signal and a 15 year old sky box.
The WiFi in the common areas is sketchy at best.
We decided on Tuesday to check out as not being able to use the facilities and being unable to use our phone or laptop was becoming untenable.
My partner spoke to the manager to check out and has just come back having been sworn out and agreessively spoken to and now €50 lighter for some imaginary cleaning fee. The manager is very aggrieved that we refused to pay the reduced €35 euros for facilities we didn't or couldn't use and treated my partner.
I have never felt more like a second class citizen and so awkward. I don't know if its because we are English or because we have booked through interval International. But again I am now in tears of what should have been a lovely holiday.
We stayed 3 days out of 7 and have the extra cost of finding somewhere else to stay.
On the positive, the grounds are lovely, the breakfast staff are very accommodating and friendly along with the younger man on reception.
The manager should not be in service, interval International should not be offering this hotel as a comparative exchange and the lack of facilities in off season should not be the same price as in high season.
Be aware if you stay here, you will need to pay for everything on top and if you do get to use the pool, make sure you wear a swimming cap!!

We exchanged a week thru interval and were so excited about this hotel. The hotel was so relaxing and the gardens were amazing. I highly recommend this hotel for a getaway with excellent spa services. I experienced the spa which is in a grotto, with candles placed around the jacuzzi, 2 saunas followed by an excellent massage. The staff were incredibly welcoming throughout our stay”. The restaurant was delicious and the service was outstanding. Excellent beaches were 5 minutes away and the hotel had their own private beach with lounge chairs with cushions, umbrellas and bar and clean bathrooms.

Antica Masseria Rotaccapoza is a very dream like location. The ambience in the entire resort with its beautiful plants, the seating and the lights makes it very scenic. We loved the location. The rooms are small but cosy. The only drawback I think is the monotonous breakfast everyday. This could be made a bit more interesting with some hot food.

The lack of facilities in off season should not be the same price as in high season. Be aware if you stay here, you will need to pay for everything on top and if you do get to use the pool, make sure you wear a swimming cap!! Said no hotel ever.

A lovely building set in olive groves. Large room of the courtyard. We spent a nice couple of days there. Great breakfast. Dinner incredible vegetables and salad from their gardens. Wine good and service excellent. Some nice trails for walks from the hotel. Nice & quiet and to some extent remote.

Much better accommodations than we expected. As we struggled speaking Italian, we made a connection with the wonderful people who worked here. The dining room had plentiful breakfast choices as well as lunch and dinner options. We chose to explore the area for most dinners, however. There is a shuttle service to the beach. The weekly resort fee included 2 chairs with an umbrella. The water was clear, shallow and just warm enough to still be refreshing. We did a couple's spa relaxing treatment and massage and listened to music in the bar most nights. We recommend this resort for explpring and enjoying southern Italy.

Amazing staff, beautiful grounds. The folks that work there are friendly and helpful. Mary (Maria) was of particular assistance to us, as she spoke fluent English. She explained all of the amenities in great detail, of which there were many. There is a lovely spa in a grotto, not included, but there were specials on offer. The mandatory club card was well worth it, as it included the cost of the beach shuttle, as well as sunbeds at the beach club, which was a nice one. Lovely beach, comfortable sunbeds, and a good restaurant. The rooms were nice enough; charming, not luxurious, and the bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade, but there was a lovely and spacious terrace off the room. The grounds are beautiful and well-cared for, and there is a great bar area and several other seating areas on the grounds. A bit of advice; because it was a bit rainy when we were there, and there is so much foliage, there were a lot of mosquitoes. Bring bug spray! There was also a buffet breakfast that could be purchased for 7 euros a day, 5 euros if you get it for the whole week. Well worth it; there was a lovely lady that made bacon and eggs, crepes, etc, as ordered. Also the usual fresh pastries, cheeses, local meats, fruit, yogurt. I would definitely return, and recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I spent a week at this resort as part of her big birthday adventure in Europe. From the moment we arrived and until the day we left, we received the most amazing service by the resort staff. Mr. Pierluigi and Mery were always available and happy to help as needed. Kudos to Mery for going above and beyond and purchasing a few special items to celebrate my wife's birthday - the wine and chocolates were perfect. In addition, the breakfast staff, led by Ramona and Liza, were very friendly and professional at every interaction and the barman was always ready to offer a hot pot of water for afternoon tea. This was a very memorable stay and will certainly have us in future stays at the resort. Highly recommend staying here especially if you are vising the Apulia coast to enjoy the Adriatic and Ionian coastal towns. Easy access to both the sandy beaches, rock and all that Southern Italy has to offer.

We are an older couple: 70 and 77, so we aren’t as adventurous as the younger set. We did a week of timeshare trade to southern Italy with Interval International. We rented a car, and while driving here I realized it’s not in Lecce but an hour past it! I guess I didn’t look too carefully at the location since we’d never been here before (from the U.S.). It’s much more remote than I expected. They gave us a room without too many steps, which was very accommodating. The people working here are wonderful, although very few speak English. We mostly used our hands and a few words. We are still getting the hang of Google translate. The beach resort associated with this resort is really nice! We spent a lot of time there. They have healthier food, with salads and fruit, which we didn’t get at the resort dinners. (We skipped the continental breakfast at the resort and went to the beach for lunch.) The only fruit for sale we could find anywhere nearby was at the beach restaurant! The locals at the markets said you buy fruit only on Saturdays! Since I eat fruit for breakfast, hearing this was a shock. In retrospect, I’d only stay here for 4 days and spend time north of here near Alberobello, etc. it’s an hour to Lecce and Otranto from here so we won’t get to see the Puglia north of here before we leave for Naples tomorrow on the train in Lecce.
