Hotel Valverde in Gressoney-la-Trinite

We've just come back from an Easter ski trip after staying at Hotel Valverde. My son and I had a really great time, the hotel is charming and the staff were fantastic, the manager Roberto really made me smile every day, really friendly and humorous. The food was delicious, proper Italian cuisine, thought might not be welcomed by young children if they are fussy. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. I definitely think "Charming" best describes the place. The hotel itself is a few meters from the Punta Jolanda chair lift but you do have to carry your skis up a little hill to join the piste, some stairs would be useful, but it was no great difficulty doing that. The Punta Jolanda chair lift is right at the start of the Gressoney ski area and from there you ski into the most fantastic ski area (you can get the bus to the main gondola in Staffal if required), you can ski for miles from there heading to Champoluc ( and the dreaded goat run ) or over to Alagana which had our favourite black run. It's definitely not a ski area for beginners, but if you can ski well it is the most fantastic place to visit. Gressoney La Trinite village is very quiet and definitely not somewhere you'd go for the Apres.

My wife and I stayed here last week during our annual ski trip. Wow what a very beautiful, professional and friendly hotel this is. Right from the start Roberto his daughter, wife and all staff made us very very welcome and all with a gentle humour The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food was absolutely superb with traditional dishes from the Aoster region. Great place to stay whether you are skiing or walking as it’s very central for the town. There is a long chair lift literally outside the hotel that takes you on a red ski run, if you need a gentler slope to start or want to access the main area of the Monterosa ski area then their is a great shuttle bus which is literally a minutes walk to the stop. Definitely will go back to this lovely place

We booked through Crystal Ski in January - Roberto manages the hotel and is very friendly and helpful. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. It has a relaxing atmosphere and chilling on one of the comfy sofas in the lounge feels like you are at home. The restaurant runs very efficiently, four courses for dinner with choices and everything you can desire on the breakfast buffet. The beds are very comfy. We could ski back to the boot room, the chair lift is next door and can be reached by stepping up a slope or walking round the neighbouring hotel. The skiing is extensive but mainly reds and not really beginner resort. You can ski over to Alagna or Staffal and Champoluc for a change or catch a bus from nearby. There are some nice bars within walking distance or the bar in the hotel. A couple of very small supermarkets in the village or the bus runs regularly to StJean etc. Would recommend Hotel Valverde absolutely.

Stayed here from Boxing Day until the 2 nd of January. The location is amazing, right next to the chair lift. Just be aware the slope that leads to the hotel is a red slope so you need to be quite a good skier to ski down to hotel. The breakfast were continental, simple but nice- they could do with some toasters though! The best part of the hotel was the owner, he was always cheerful and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The other hotel staff were also very good . Overall a great hotel for what you pay for.

My family has spent many wonderful holidays at Hotel Valverde since the late 80s! My parents took me and my wife there in the 90s, and we've returned there twice more with our 2 children.
Hotel Valverde, the family that owns and runs it, and the staff, have given us memorable experiences, that have become a part of my family's shared memories.
We look forward to coming back as soon as we can.
