Agriturismo Masseria Calongo in Cisternino

There are beautiful places — and then there are beautiful places run by beautiful people. Masseria Calongo is one of them!
We spent 5 nights in a big 3-bedroom family apartment, warmly decorated and spotlessly clean. Fabio and his mother Rosa greeted us every day with smiles and kindness, keeping everything at the highest standard even though it was their last week of opening before olive picking season and the seasonal closure.
Fabio gave us great tips for our day trips to the nearby villages and served an amazing breakfast every morning, prepared with their own local products. The location is also perfect for exploring the Itria Valley. We will be back ❤️

A fabulous Sunday lunch! We expected a simple restaurant with traditional, simple ingredients, like all the local agritourism/farmhouses... but we were blown away by the unique dishes, made with locally sourced, top-quality products! The service was fast and attentive. A top rating! We'll be back! (We even stocked up on pickles and jams... super!)

This was such a fun beautiful place to stay and visit. We had a little trouble finding the hotel, but it was so worth it. The family who owns and runs the hotel were super nice and welcoming. Everything was immaculate. Bedding was comfortable and didn't smell of laundry detergent, just clean. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and featured some of their own products. I just wish we had been there when they were serving dinner!

My wife and twin teenage sons spent 3 nights at Masseria Calongo in June 2024 and we absolutely loved our stay. In fact after 2 weeks in Italy the twins determined this was their favorite place of all the places we stayed. Undoubtedly the other reviews you have read also mention the fantastic Fabio, who is literally the man who appears to do everything! He helps with luggage and gives an orientation of the property, shows the room, serves the breakfast, and gives great travel tips! After you finish breakfast, linger for a bit and Fabio will come out and ask "Where are we going today?" Once you share your plans, he will offer great ideas on what to see, where to eat and what to do. On our last day he recommended a beach that was one of the highlights of our Italy trip. Breakfast is a stomach busting array of fresh juices, croissants, jams and cakes. You can also ask for scrambled eggs or a ham and cheese panini. The peaches, dates, and apricots we ate at breakfast were all hand-picked at the masseria. Fabio and his family are incredibly hard-working and always on the go! It is very clear that they have a long-term vision for the place, and most everything is on some sort of path to renewal and greatness. We were all greeted warmly by Fabio's entire family every time we passed them, particularly Fabio's Mom who is just a ray of sunshine. We loved the centricity of location of Calongo, with easy access to Alberobello, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Cisternino, and all the beach towns. We also loved Fabio's recommendations and kindness. On our checkout day we wished to explore a town but were reluctant to leave our bags in a car all day so we asked Fabio if we could leave our bags and pick them up later in the day. "SURE! NO PROBLEM!" was his answer. Rooms are simple and bed mattresses could use a little upgrade but we have no complaints. Fabio and his family and all the great service they provide are the star of the show here. Relax and enjoy your day by the pool, and have fun!

We are a family of five traveling from Washington, DC. We spent a magical week at this masseria and fell completely in love with Puglia and Masseria Calongo. Fabio and his family were incredibly helpful and accommodating and the food is spectacular. The accommodations were comfortable with air conditioning and there is a beautiful pool and garden. Fabio, his brother who is a very talented chef, and both his parents are so kind, welcoming, and hardworking. There were fabulous breakfasts every morning with warm croissants, fresh cake, and made-to-order coffee. We were there during fig season and were treated to their fresh picked dogs! The pool is so pretty. We had a hard time peeling ourselves away but there are so many spectacular nearby towns and beaches to explore. We loved Monopoli, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Ostuni. We drove a bit further afield to Lecce and loved that as well. Alberobello should be seen but it’s really a small town and it is one of the few places that was crowded with tourists. The beaches that Fabio recommended were out of this world! We have so many happy memories of jumping off rocks into the blue blue Adriatic, and swimming in coves and even caves! Then there were also so many pretty sandy beaches to explore as well. Ask ahead because it books up fast but Masseria Calongo hosts a set dinner of panzerotti. It is a multi-course feast and the panzerotti are impossibly light. Because they grow their own wheat and vegetables and olives, nearly everything they serve is produced from what they grow personally. This was a really memorable meal surrounded by so many Italians in the know! :) This was a real highlight of our stay. We also had a great tour of a dairy and family farm that made cheese at Masseria Fragnite. Highly recommend it! If you are thinking about it, don’t hesitate! We loved Masseria Calongo and would love to go back!

Very nice and welcoming place ... new to try the panzerotti tour, very good ... I was struck by the cleanliness of the room and the careful hygiene of the bathrooms ... normal account ... I recommend it !!

We stayed a week at the Calongo farm, perfect location, very clean apartment equipped with all comforts. The excellent breakfast, with fresh products and freshly baked cakes and croissants. Rosa, Stefano, Giovanni and Fabio were very kind, they made us feel immediately at home. In addition, even I, who am celiac, was able to enjoy freshly baked gluten-free desserts and cakes every morning. I also had the chance to try gluten-free focaccia, pancakes and panzerotti, mouth-watering! We highly recommend it. We leave a piece of heart.

I took my family and friends here to celebrate my birthday on Saturday night and Sunday for lunch.
Excellent service, helpful and welcoming, excellent food, served with refinement and taste, warm place and environment, very nice farm.
Recommended for everyone. I was very happy.
