Reviews
+Clothesline on the terrace, huge garden in front and back (it was too hot when I was there, but nice with cooler temperatures).
+They offer a lot of suggestions, maps for local public transport and many things you can rent (bike, car, tent, beach umbrella...)
-Kitchen only opens at 7am, and you are not allowed to use it (you can only get food from fridge or drawers but not to prepare or cook food) until 11-14 and 18-22. These hours are a real inconvenience:
every day I left the hostel at 4–5 am, and on the last day I had to purposely take a later train just so I could keep my dairy products in the fridge overnight.
I would rather they offered a small fridge outside the fridge to store food for people who have to leave the hostel before 7am.
-None of the windows I saw throughout the structure had mosquito nets and with some doors being perpetually open (like terrace), I did get a few mosquito bites.
-Taking a shower inevitably (by how the door is designed and lack of towel mat) floods the bathroom. Placing a mop or mat would help. Sure, there is a button you can press to let staff know it needs to be cleaned, but more proactive measures would be appropriate.
-I love hostels that take recycling seriously, but the fact remains that some materials/containers can’t be recycled and I never saw a non-recycling bin. I understand the risk that it could be misused by lazier or less experienced guests, but having to throw non-recyclable PET into the Organic bin means the Organic bin is no longer doing its job and becomes contaminated.
-The outdoor gate plays a jingle (Verdi’s La Traviata) every time it opens. Cute the first time, but if at night you can hear it even with closed shutters, sealed windows, and earplugs, it gets annoying very quickly
Location: About a 30 minute walk to the train station or old town, it’s perfect for a solo traveler like myself that doesn’t mind walking a bit further from the tourist crowd. Grocery store across the street and pizzeria/bakery/restaurants within a few blocks.
Staff: The best part of this hostel. Very friendly, excellent recommendations, and speak great a variety of languages.
Facilities: The staff clean daily and it shows by how immaculate the place is. Showers had running hot water (some of the other hostels I’ve stayed at run out of hot water). Kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, wine opener, spices, oil, salt… everything you need to prep a meal. The library is a nice place to chill and read of book or do some work.
Will be back if I’m ever visiting Lecce again. Lobby Collective Hostel set the bar high and it’s my favorite hostel in all of Italy! Grazie!
•Cika&Alessio, meraviglioso😁You will meet them at reception.
•All the facilities are carefully designed, almost no detail was left out. There was style everywhere. The instructions were very clear and precise.
•The facility is cleaned by volunteers and is extremely sufficient
•Especially the backyard lighting is magical.
Non c’è due senza tre😁😁😁
The hostel itself is nice, staff is awesome and helpful, there are snacks machines inside, they have nice basic breakfast, facilities are usually clean.however even the hostel has nothing to do with that, rude people are staying.they are mostly long term stayers.room smelled socks and i couldn't even open the windows.shared room here is not for everyone.
