Basilicata, Matera, Via Don Lorenzo Milani, 10, 75100 Matera, Bazilikata, Italiya 🧭 Map
Cozy bed& breakfast, you will be staying in someone’s house, they provide nice home cooked breakfast.
A caring host A little difficult to find. However, everything else is great! Close to the historic center. A helpful and attentive host. Spacious and very clean room, as was the bathroom. Varied breakfast. Top-notch!
Excellent location (we were 5, including three boys). Strategic for visiting Matera on foot, leaving the car in the courtyard. Mimmo was very kind in welcoming and advising us. Super abundant breakfast. Rooms equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Thanks for everything Mimmo, we really hope to return.
B&B located inside Mr. Giordano. Clean and comfortable environment. Ideal for a one night stop as we did for visiting the city of Matera (absolutely enchanting). Recommended!!

Hotel Cave del Sole, Matera1 / 30

Basilicata, Matera, C.da La Vaglia 🧭 Map
The hotel was exceptionally comfortable, clean, and most importantly, very spacious. We stayed on the second floor, with a courtyard in front and a balcony in the back. It was also incredibly convenient for Matera's Old Town. The front desk manager, INNO, was especially kind and helpful, giving us a very thorough and detailed explanation of how to explore Matera and the most convenient parking spots...
Breakfast ok. Room was clean and comfortable. TV had no English speaking stations. Google maps showed hotel 0.4 miles away from actual location. Staff had difficulty telling me where property actually was, when phoned in with problem. Staff helpful in scheduling City tour, but when could not locate tour guide, had difficulty helping to make connection.
Great hotel - lovely contemporary room - helpful friendly staff - fantastic continental breakfast selection. One slight negative is the location with it being a c20 minute taxi ride into the centre - Sassi.
Great hotel with the beautiful breakfast near city centre. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to walk to the centre, so you will need a car.
Good hotel on the outskirts of Matera Hotel Cave del Sole was a nice hotel that was exactly what we needed for two nights exploring Matera. There’s parking for around 10 cars in a courtyard in front of the hotel (plus an underground garage which looked tight to park in). This opens on to a fairly busy road - take care exiting. You really do need a car as it’s 10 mins drive to Matera. We went to a...
The establishment was clean and breakfast adequate. The room was soulless, clean but No character. Entrance and exit to hotel very precarious, be aware .location to matera not great as too far to walk, which was disappointing especially when visiting restaurants. Would need to taxi both ways .

Basilicata, Matera, Recinto del Sedile 4 🧭 Map
I've just completed three nights at this wonderful hotel. It is in the very best location with spectacular views and amazing staff. Especially Fania on reception. I really could stay here for weeks very happily. Walk out of the hotel entrance and you are immediately in the middle of everything you could want.
The place is centrally located and accessible to all different tourists areas. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The location is great and the facilities are clean and great. The only downside was that the heater was broken, making it difficult to sleep.
The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required.
This beautiful Boutique hotel was right in town centre. Matera is so unique everyone must go there. The hotel's location was excellent, breakfast fabulous and staff were friendly and helpful
Charming hotel in Matera Great stay, clean, close to everything. Nice room but no windows because they are in a grotta in the old town. Be aware you need to walk from the lobby to the rooms and there are stairs to get there (don’t bring heavy luggage)

Well-maintained and well-arranged apartments, although the cleanliness from a female perspective isn't impeccable (one stained sheet, hair in the outside shower). Gorgeous pool, no entertainment. The beach is crowded like a council house. Except for sheets, towels, and dishes, bring your own.
A very welcoming place, although unfortunately not very busy, but it's worth it. The cuisine, directed by chef Giuseppe, is very refined and the dishes are plentiful. Five-star cuisine, and the restaurant staff are always top-notch. It's a shame, however, that the place is little-known. All the staff are very helpful, including the owner, who is very attentive and meticulous, always trying his best...
New and well organized structure. Helpful staff. The swimming pool is really big and well cleaned. I recommend this structure to those who love silence and tranquility.
All wonderful, a welcoming house with all the main comforts ... especially the friendliness of the staff, the education and civilization of those who stop there, in short, truly doc
WONDERFUL location, fabulous pool and super relaxing environment. Mimmo the owner, a very nice and helpful person. Advise
We did two nights, clean and new apartment. Very nice and large swimming pool. We didn't use the entertainment because we wanted to spend two days relaxing. We hope to be able to return next year and stay a few more days. The sea this morning was beautiful, clear and full of small fish.

Very genuine place to stay at. Excellent service, good food, beautiful rooms, clean, I only have positive things to say about this small hotel. Want to come back!
The most amazing food wow!!! Best food I’ve had in Italy, hands down. Homely feel and incredible, incredible service. Please do yourself a favour and go.
The best place to have food in the entirety of Italy I really enjoyed my stay and meal that was provided and hope that more people can actually have real Italian cuisine and enjoy the experience like I did
We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was great, the room was nice and spacious, and the restaurant on-site was really tasty. We would be back for a relaxing stay.
The best experience we could get. The staff were all kind and patient and the owner friendly and amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great - parking in garage is expensive euro 15 - be aware
Hotel is in a good location walkable to the historic centre but the road in is winding and the GPS may need to be ignored for some turns. Room was clean and comfortable and service friendly and helpful. Parking was available underneath. A nice continental breakfast buffet with perfect cappuccino.
This is a classic european hotel. Small but nice rooms, convenient location in Potenza.
Three-star hotel in the center of Potenza but it also deserves the fourth star. Great professionalism, courtesy, hospitality and willingness to provide information on the location of the operator at the reception, great courtesy also from the breakfast staff, as well as from the bar. The hotel is very close to the city center. You can reach everywhere by walking. The hotel is an old hotel and has not been renovated. Despite this, it is clean, tidy and in good condition. Strategic location along the highway. Rooms are a bit bland and almost retro. The room concept is a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Recommended. A bit pricey.
I stayed two nights at the Hotel Hermes with a group of friends. The hotel is new, the rooms are very clean, and the attention to detail is meticulous. I've stayed at this hotel several times when I'm passing through for work. I was greeted warmly. At reception, I was given a beautiful suite, comfortable, spacious, and spotlessly clean. A generous sweet and savory breakfast was served, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A wonderful confirmation!
I am ultra happy to have slept in this beautiful hotel and I recommend it to everyone, wonderful people, friendly and helpful at any time of the day or night. Clean and ultra modern.
Nice restaurant. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The waiters were a little confused and asked about each course at our table with 9 people and wrote something wrong. Sometimes drinks and food were simply forgotten. Otherwise okay. The big problem there are mosquitoes .... There are lemon candles everywhere, but they are just everywhere and bite everyone and everything ...
Very kind staff, attentive reception girls available for every request, spacious and clean room. One more reason to go back? A quiet and well maintained swimming pool.

For a memorable night or weekend, this is an exceptional place to stay. Close to the town centre and with breathtaking views over Matera, it's well worth a visit. Matera is beautiful & I loved my time there but the room allocated was not. It was very spacious but had no downstairs windows, only the tiny mezzanine floor above did. The shower cabinet was held together with a...
Stayed in this fascinating hotel in Matera for 3 nights. Our room was in one of the old cisterns carved out of the limestone. While not luxurious, the unique aspect of being in a cave more than made up for any lack of facilities. Matera itself was astonishing - truly exceptional place to visit. Great local restaurants, too, all full of character.
It was quite an experience staying in a cave hotel! It's not easy to retrofit facilities in a cave so don't expect luxurious bathrooms or decor. The rooms are scattered somewhat and there are lots of steps, like much of Matera so don't stay here if you have mobility issues. Having said that the rooms were adequate for our needs and the breakfast was nice if a bit busy at peak times. Overall we really...
