Located just inside the old town and 5 minutes walk from the ancient area.   Generous size room and excellent breakfast.   Perfect for visiting this special town.

Very well located, in the center área, cars not allowed but paid parking is within walking distance. Friendly staff and city is a must see. Different from everything I have ever seen.

Staying here is part of truly experiencing the city. The room was uniquely designed—modern yet cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for recovering after a long day of exploring.

I went to a private cooking class here with my family. The entire experience was perfect from beginning to end. We learned how to roll pasta and watched Chef Mario cook in the kitchen all while his sister Elena was rolling pasta the whole time. We found the restaurant spontaneously walking through the charming streets of Matera and we couldn’t have had better luck! The restaurant sits in a cozy area with wonderful views, yet it brings elegance to the table. Our waiter, Tino, took care of us with such a care that we felt we are at a private dinning diner. The food was very delicious and each meal had the “wow” effect. Highly highly recommended

Excellent location, everything is perfect

A beautiful place! We had an amazing sassi room with all the historic charm plus modern, comfortable amenities including a bathtub. Staff is amazing too, so helpful and friendly. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants, made the reservations and made sure we had a great experience there. Wonderful breakfast!

Fantastic hotel with great views We had a fabulous time at Palazzo Viceconte. The views from the room and from the roof terrace are simply stunning, and the staff were very welcoming and generous. We got engaged while we were there and they even gave us a free bottle of Prosecco! We will definitely be back.

The place is centrally located and accessible to all different tourists areas. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

The location is great and the facilities are clean and great. The only downside was that the heater was broken, making it difficult to sleep.

The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required.

This beautiful Boutique hotel was right in town centre. Matera is so unique everyone must go there. The hotel's location was excellent, breakfast fabulous and staff were friendly and helpful

Charming hotel in Matera Great stay, clean, close to everything. Nice room but no windows because they are in a grotta in the old town. Be aware you need to walk from the lobby to the rooms and there are stairs to get there (don’t bring heavy luggage)

Without window the rooms are not nice however its fine. Rest we enjoyed our stay in Matera. Rooms are in different pathway where you have to go down using stairs. If you are old then it might be an big issue but location is center and you don’t have to take an bus to go further.

We absolutely loved our stay. Very attentive before our arrival, arranging our parking and shuttle to the hotel. Once at the hotel the staff was so kind and friendly and offered recommendations. The room itself was better than expected and the buffet breakfast had a great selection. Best of all, it was quiet at night allowing us to actually get a good nights sleep.

The actual hotel/room didn't quite live up to the photos or descriptions; it definitely wasn't the cave-style depicted but rather quite modern. Located on a hill, the hotel is impossible to find using GPS. We had to call the front desk, and it took a long time for them to understand and send someone to collect us. For a four-star hotel, the room facilities are not adequate. More tableware and space for placing items could be provided. Because you need to walk in SASSI, the breakfast is great.

Matera is beautiful & I loved my time there but the room allocated was not. It was very spacious but had no downstairs windows, only the tiny mezzanine floor above did. Stayed in this fascinating hotel in Matera for 3 nights. Our room was in one of the old cisterns carved out of the limestone. While not luxurious, the unique aspect of being in a cave more than made up for any lack of facilities. Matera itself was astonishing - truly exceptional place to visit. It was quite an experience staying in a cave hotel! It's not easy to retrofit facilities in a cave so don't expect luxurious bathrooms or decor. Beautiful masseria, nearby Matera. The drawback of the central location is that the place feels more touristy rather than authentic, when compared to other masseria's. The room was good, however it couldn't get chill inside, even with the AC on Power the whole night. The breakfast was ok, choices were limited, fruit juice was not freshly made.

A fantastic little spot. Really excellent service from the family (our flight was 3 hours late and they were there at 1:30am) to welcome us to our large, well air conditioned (was 36 degrees) room. Nice breakfast, full of local produce. Definitely need a car if you want to explore the area

Wide view of the endless fields next to Matera. This old farm has been converted in an idealistic hotel that is just starting. Loved the big rooms with old furniture together with more modern accents. The pool is very good, but the big score of this hotel is an even better breakfast. Most products come from the farm it self! Charming Masseria in the middle of the countryside. Well-appointed and equipped rooms. Great staff, attentive and courteous. Quality dishes are served in the restaurant, and the service is efficient. Breakfast misses a hot option though. The owners add a nice presence. The only downside concerns the price which seems a bit over what you would expect for this standing. Normal All in all, pretty good, except for the heat. The air conditioning didn't cool the entire room, and it was scorching hot. There was mold in the bathroom. The only positive note was the owner, who gave us excellent tips for visiting Matera. The breakfast was good.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The location was perfect as it is close to both Matera Central public transportation and the main Matera town attractions. The hosts were accomodating with our last minute booking and gave a warm welcome. We would stay again.

Simple but clean hotel friendly staff gave us a lot of information by putting us in touch with a super guide. Excellent central location 150 meters and you are in the center pay parking opposite. The breakfast included at the bar under the hotel is not really satisfactory as it offers only empty frozen croissants that fill at the moment with Nutella jam or cream the same that we find at the motorway...

Dimora Santa Bárbara looks like out of a fairy tale. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with all the amenities (wifi, snacks, fluffy towels, etc.) BUT the most amazing things: the views. Both at night and during the day you open the doors and windows and you overlook a mystical valley, the thousands of year old caves and ruins... breathtaking. Also amazing service and super kind owner.

We had such a wonderful time at this place, Ivan is an excellent host, he made as feel like at home! Our room was beautiful very different from other B&B. Our hosts, Ivan and Angelo, were really friendly and helpful. Angelo picked us up from the car park and returned us there at the end of our visit. The suite has been tastefully renovated with marble and granite floors. The kitchen and bathroom are both modern and attractive. The location is superb. I wish I could have stayed for weeks!

This place will give you the perfect time. I guarantee. Do you wnat a perfect trip in Matera? please don't waste your time looking for other accommodation. Just, just go to "Dimora santa barbara". That's it. That's all you need.

Matera, my favorite! We stayed just one night in the corner room. Clean, cute, and SPECTACULAR views! Ivan was incredibly helpful from picking us up at the parking garage to giving great directions back to Rome! I will be back, for sure!

Overall quality is OK, the room is relatively clean.

Although this hotel is a little smaller, it is very good in all aspects. The facilities are very new and the location is relatively good. It is suitable for self-driving and staying there. The front desk is also very enthusiastic. If you go to that city, you will stay here again.

Located in the Center of matera. Were switched to this apt because the originally booked had a heating problem. Unfortunately this one had no Window. WiFi had many interruptions. Informed owner that shower head should be repaired. Breakfast (with small varieties) location nearby.

I don’t feel like the host (Irene i think) was very helpful. It felt like we annoyed her. They didn’t want to help me order a taxi when I asked for help. I also asked for help to get to Araberello but the host wouldn’t advice me. The next day I asked again if she could help get me there and tell me the price and stuff but she just sent me the taxi number. Felt like we weren’t very welcome to ask questions...

Alexandro was very welcoming. Well appointed rooms, beautiful quiet courtyard for enjoying a glass of wine. The views from the terrace rooms was breathtaking. Located right in the centre of the historical city of Matera, felt safe.

In ******* shows as Hotel but it’s a nice residence without hotel Services. Room in general was fine (bed was really comfortable and shower was super). There were some problem with Wc table not stable and not enough privacy since the toilet is separated to the bedroom only by one glass door. Every night it was a smell of fire (even if you have the window closed) maybe from a pizzeria or bakery next...

Perfect location, responsive host, and beautiful room

Matera is an amazing place to visit and staying at the Monaco Bianco made it even more special! Alessandro was incredibly helpful and welcoming - the perfect manager for this property. I shall happily recommend this to anyone else I know travelling to Matera.

The best B&B that we have experienced. The room has an indoor sauna, rain showers, wine cooler, small kitchenette and ample of space. Host is very helpful on local food. Not far from the city center.
