Hotel Luna Convento in Amalfi

Great, centrally located, beautiful setting in walking distance to downtown!

A former 12tth century monastery, located equidistant between Amalfi and Atrani, a 10-minute walk to either village and specifically the Amalfi ferry terminal. It exudes old-world charm – a centrally located cloister (including an outdoor bar) and all rooms overlook the Tyrrhenian Sea and Amalfi. It also has a very unique swimming pool (located along the sea – you can actually access the Mediterranean). While some prior reviews may suggest the rooms are ‘dated’, we found them to have all the ‘modern’ conveniences and amenities we desired. In comparison to the other luxury choices in the area, Hotel Luna was priced much more reasonably – including an incredible daily free breakfast. We also had a dinner and a lunch, and although I rarely am impressed with hotel restaurants, a sudden rainstorm fortunately led us to their main dining room, which was superb and surprisingly reasonably priced, given the quality of the meal, ambiance and service. The pumpkin soup was amazing and their ‘Marinati’ (marinated anchovies & salmon – had again for lunch) was so good! MOST OF ALL, the staff quickly became more like our family…they could not have been more accommodating and engaging. Seek out Salvatore with assisting you in planning local activities, transportation, etc.

Excellent hotel in great location. All of the staff were very pleasant and service oriented top notch. Rooms were very clean breakfast was very nice also Great little balcony with super view. Only complaint was the room was on two levels with bed and bathroom upstairs not good for someone with bad knees. The “shower” was also not acceptable for this expensive of a room. It’s not acceptable to have to hold a hand piece shower in a tub with one hand and try to wash your hair. Bathroom gets soaked! Need to update that

We have just returned from a family weekend to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. The hotel is amazing, all the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The food in both of the restaurants is outstanding, with excellent views of the town from both. We would definitely return to the Hotel Luna Convento on our next trip to Amalfi.

Amazing 10 nights in Amalfi! Hotel Luna was perfect. The room was spotless, light and airy, balcony with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast was a delight, with an array of cold meats, cheese, eggs, bread, pastries, cakes. The staff were courteous and friendly. A shout out to Tony the night porter, he went out of his way to ensure our every need was met, what a star!⭐️ Take a trip on the local ferry to Positano and Capri, hire a boat with a skipper for the day and explore Amalfi Coast it’s worth the extra cost! Hotel Luna Convento in Amalfi was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The location couldn’t have been better close to everything, but still felt peaceful and tucked away. The building itself is full of charm and history, which made it feel really special and unique. Breakfast every morning was amazing fresh, delicious, and so much to choose from. But what really made the stay unforgettable was the staff. They were so kind, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. It felt like the most authentic and thoughtful service we experienced the whole trip. We felt genuinely welcomed and looked after the entire time. I’d come back here in a heartbeat!

Our travel agent booked Luna Convento for our recent trip to Amalfi. As we were celebrating our 50th Anniversary, we requested a suite. It was beyond our belief. Spacious with sitting room, bedroom, walk through closet area and 2 full bathrooms. We had a huge private balcony overlooking the sea. Every single personnel was most friendly, accommodating, and gave us great advice when we asked. The breakfast was wonderful! We also had dinner there our first night and it was exceptional with fantastic service. We were so impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Everyone was dressed in the appropriate uniforms including the waiters in white dinner jackets on the hottest nights!! All went out of their way to make us feel special. We absolutely loved this old world hotel. We hated to leave!

We felt welcome as soon as we entered the hotel. The hotel has friendly staff who understand five-star service, yet they create a very relaxed and informal atmosphere. We were especially touched when the staff showed us to our room and shared some of the hotel’s history with us. It’s clear that every member of staff is proud to work in such a special place. The hotel itself is truly exceptional, with a lovely atmosphere, stunning views, a beautiful pool, and swim platforms next to the sunbeds so you can enjoy the scenery and swim in the sea. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel also benefits from an excellent location, within walking distance of everything and close to the centre of Amalfi Town.

Beautiful hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Perched about 100 feet above the sea at the water's edge . Has magnificent sea, coast and town view. Great food and very pleasant and accommodating staff. Very helpful and attentive. This is an A+++ establishment. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here for our 50 anniversary. Thanks all!!!
