Hotel Miramare in Maiori

4 stars…… what a joke.

Worst B&B I have ever stayed in. Had two rooms for two nights. The rooms in general were very run down. One of the rooms the door stuck and was hard to get in or out off. The second room the shower door was broken and could not close properly. The shower head was broken and could not get any water out for a shower. There were large water marks on both ceilings. The actual entry to the B&B was not lockable which was a safety concern. Had to go to a different hotel for the included breakfast where the staff were unfriendly. The hot breakfast was cold and we had to ask for milk to go with the cereal as they had run out. When we informed the hotel of the issues at the B&B they said they will get it looked at. Upon returning to our rooms the same night, after climbing up four flights of stairs in complete darkness, nothing was fixed.

Once complaining again, after walking down the stairs in total darkness then walking round the corner to the hotel, they suggested we move into the hotel, one room for three people. This was not acceptable. Then they suggested only one room move to the hotel. Also not acceptable. After numeral phone calls their end they found two rooms for us. When we checked out of the B&B and got the keys for the hotel, the two women on the desk laughed as we left the reception. Our new rooms were in a better state however the shower head in one kept on falling down as the cable tie that was there to hold it in place had broken and shower door in the other room did not close properly so had to stand in the corner so the water would not spray all over the floor.

Bed bugs!!! I had 94 bed bugs bites all over my body. I woke up in the middle of the night and was covered completely in bed bugs. It was super traumatic and they never properly apologized for this.

This hotel keeps ignoring my emails about getting a proper refund for the costs I had to make at home for getting the bed bugs in my hotel. They promised to refund me, but they never did and now keep ignoring my emails. It’s incredibly frustrating and so rude how they just ignore every email and every call.

The only positive I can think of about this hotel is that it's only one block to the beach. There's a lovely stretch of shops and eateries to explore near the beach. As far as the hotel itself, the staff weren't friendly or welcoming. I was part of a tour group of 18 so I'm sure they knew of our arrival but they seemed unprepared. The lobby appeared messy, even hoarder-ish. The rooms were problematic. A few in the group had to move rooms due to mold. My shower was no exception. We were there for only 2 nights. I would not have stayed any longer regardless. And shame on the tour company for thinking that this hotel was acceptable. But that's another review.

I can see why this place has negative reviews. Unfortunately they are all true. After a few nights here, I’ll never stay here again. Breakfast is terrible. Some stale bread and a barely working toaster. A few pastries. One type of meat and one type of poor quality cheese. They put out eggs and they do not replenish them, nor do they replenish the fruit or anything else for that matter. You either eat as soon as they open or your options are very limited. The one person working is polite but obviously can’t keep up because we waited 20 minutes for coffee and there were only 9 people in the room. We were up on the balcony - which is advertised as being available for hotel guests - and we were told we cannot use it because it is for the people who live there. The sheets and cover for the bed are stained (they might be clean but they have permanent marks all over them). The rooms are rundown. Only some are renovated and a colleague of mine has tattered bed frames (just like the post from a previous guest showed in photos), mould in her bathroom and near the air conditioner, and the beds are as “soft” as cement. The rest of the staff seems okay but the interaction has been sparse so I can’t fairly tell you anything negative about them. Seriously - this was advertised to us as “first class accommodations” as part of the package we paid quite a bit for, and what a disappointment. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay at the lowest ranked hotel in this town.
