Stayed here for one night. This was our last night of our Amalfi/Tuscan vacation, so we just wanted a cozy, clean, reasonable place to stay in a central location to walk to some of the tourist sites and crash before our early AM flight. It was perfect for our needs. ~10-15 walk to coliseum, many restaurants and shops close by. The room was modern, super clean and comfortable. No one was at the reception desk, but we WhatsApp'd their sister hotel next door and received a quick response with check in instructions. 24hr reception is available two doors down so you're not completely 'alone' if you have questions/needs. Shout out to Giovani at the front desk for helping us get a taxi at 5am. Pro tip: Hotel transfers are usually more expensive than taxis. Taxis charge a flat fee of 50 euro and easily accessible. On call 24/7. Might not be ideal if you have lots of luggage but for us, it was perfect.

People who book a room at Atypical Rooms should be aware of a few things: - The hotel consists of 6 rooms on the 3rd floor of a building. (which means 4th floor if you count it the American way) - There is a very small and very slow elevator. We mostly walked up and down the stairs so we had no problems with it. But if you have mobility problems, you may hate this. - The room that we got had no door to the bathroom. And the shower is separated from the bed with a glass wall. Which means that you can see the person taking a shower and that you can hear all the noise from the toilet. Zero privacy whatsoever. It's probably ok for a couple, but I wouldn't recommend that for friends or mother-daughter/son. =) - Most of the time, there's nobody at the reception. So you're on your own most of the time. But if you need anything, you can text the hotel (WhatsApp) and they're very fast in responding and very helpful. We ran into the cleaning staff a few times, and they were all very nice. - The location is in Monti area. Not super busy or touristy. A lot of restaurants in the back. We liked the location. But it's not really in the center of tourist attractions, so you will have to walk quite a bit to go to places. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and I would come back. But I am fully aware that this may not be good for everybody. Please make sure that you're ok with walking up the stairs and no privacy in the bathroom.

I made a first reservation and 2 months before the date the hotel sent me a message communicating they had problems with the plumbing and asking me to cancel the reservation. I didn't cancel it and the hotel canceled the reservation unilaterally and without justification. After the cancellation, I made a second reservation. However, the price of the second booking was 4 times higher and the hotel didn't contact me about the plumbing issues. This behavior is possibly a fraud that artificially increases room prices, violating market rules and consumer rights. This fact was reported to the reservation service provider.

I cannot share the details of the rooms/service/location because 1880 Atyical Hotel unexpectedly cancelled my reservation via ***********. I suspect this is because the Ryder Cup is in Rome that weekend - so they wish to charge more (I booked at £595 and suddenly the same room went up to £1700) I booked using a valid credit card, with payment due on arrival at the hotel. Despite this, the hotel began to try and 'test' the validity of my card and somehow decided it was not valid. (It is valid). They then used this as an excuse to cancel my booking without warning. I have tried to speak to the hotel, but Andrea, the manager told me to simply 'rebook' but he would not honour the original price - even after I offered to pay upfront 6 months before our stay with a my VALID card. This has left me without a hotel room for my 40th birthday celebrations. Beware!

Loved this charming hotel. It is well situated near stores and many great little restaurants. Communication was excellent. The room was outstanding. So well decorated. Peaceful and modern with great AC and a funky little elevator. Enjoyed our 2 night stay and would love to return.

Very clean and stylish room and big modern bathroom. Perfect central location and taxis across the street. Excellent customer service. Only recommendation is to put black out curtains in the rooms to keep bright lights from busy street from interrupting sleep.

Hotel in good location in the city center convenient to things to see and do. Room clean and modern as recently renovated. Elevator is dated but serves purpose. Would stay there again in the future.

What great hotel. Staff was wonderful. The room was lovely. New and bed was comfortable, it was so quiet. Gem of a hotel. Centrally located we walked to Trevi Fountain, had dinner out. Great place lovely boutique hotel.

We loved the place and the location. Would definitely stay here again. The place was charming and comfortable, very classy. Checking in was easy. We walked to the Colosseum. Great restaurants nearby. Taxis are right across the street.

Amazing place to stay. Great location. Hotel room was extremely clean and comfortable. So comfortable I wanted to find out the brand they used for pillows lol. Woman at front desk was extremely helpful and made my trip more pleasant. Would recommend would stay again
