Hotel San Rocco in Orta San Giulio

We stayed in a Superior room, but unfortunately the beds were not comfortable. Even though it was supposed to be a higher category, the room only had two single beds pushed together, which was disappointing.

Breakfast was very basic and limited in variety — there wasn’t even something as simple as mozzarella cheese available.

Upon arrival, my mother was stung by a bee. We asked for ammonia, but the hotel informed us they had no first aid supplies, only offering ice. I believe that a five-star hotel should have at least a proper first aid kit available, and it did not feel right that they didn’t.

During checkout, although we had already paid for breakfast through Booking, the hotel staff tried to charge us again. Even though they use an extranet system, the reception service was slow and unprofessional. We could not see a clear breakdown of what we had consumed — everything was just written down, and when we asked for a proper receipt, it was not handled in a professional manner.

Overall, for a hotel that claims to be five stars, the service felt inexperienced and below standard. Sadly, I do not think I would stay again, and I cannot recommend it to others.
