Hotel du Col in Sestriere

Just back from a fabulous week. We arrived late but the dining room was still open, and we were made to feel very welcome. That's how we were made to feel all week. The room was ideal, comfortable bed and a great shower. Plenty of buffet choice for both breakfast and dinner and if there was anything you needed staff were always on hand. Wine was included with meals. I would add that the main courses could have been warmer. The hotel is aware of this. When we left at 5am, breakfast was ready for us. Now to the best bit, step outside the locker room, and you're on the slopes. A great resort for blue and red runs, plenty to keep you occupied. There is not much in the town itself, but busy at weekends. Would I return, YES

11 of use stayed in Hotel du Col over Feb half term - 3 families all with kids of secondary school age. It's a great location in terms of walking to the slopes. There are 2 button lifts (going to the same place) and a chair lift (Cit Roc) within a comfortable walk - access from the boot room. The gondola that leaves Sestriere is a bit of a pole away (or walk) but not too long for adults (expect to carry equipment for little kids if you're heading out of Sestriere). The boot room (10 euro deposit on arrival) is amazing (if a little warm) - spacious and with a decent locker per room (included are heated boot warmers). Rooms were great - warm, clean and the bathrooms modern. We had plenty of storage for 2 adults and 1 older teen. Beds are....firm. We had a triple room overlooking the slopes - prepare for snow clearing and piste bashing but that goes with the territory!!! The view was amazing. Friends had road side views and also experienced the usual ski resort noise but that's the trade off for a very central location and wouldn't put us off staying again. Food - buffet breakfast and dinner. It's not haute cuisine but very edible. The could do with replenishing the terrines quicker as the favourites ran out in no time. Lots of choice but surprisingly no pizza during the entire week! Table wine (not great) and soft drinks were included at dinner. Afternoon tea comprises various cakes, biscuits, teas and coffee. Very welcome after a day on the slopes. Bars - the reception bar and lower floor pub are good places to meet up. Prices - expect around 8-10 Euros a boozy drink but that seemed to be resort-wide pricing. Marchello in the pub was lovely, making us feel at home. Pool table, darts and a football table kept us entertained in the evening. The Crystal-organised quiz was a real highlight too. Sestriere is a small resort, especially if you compare it to somewhere like Morzine. There's no big swimming pool complex, nor torchlit decent, fireworks, fairground or bowling alley, as some other resorts have, so plan downtime carefully if you have small kids (there is a small ice rink and a cinema). We enjoyed apres at GFC, which is located on the way to the gondola. Great for teens and party loving parents! 27 euros for 3 tokens - 1 token per boozy drink. We danced for hours and walked back to the hotel a little giddy. Other than that, the resort is modest, quite modern and family-orientated. The pizza take-out a few doors down from the hotel is excellent for 4 Euros a slice. We were blessed with stunning snow and weather generally, enjoying the slopes and covering the miles. Hotel du Col was a comfortable base.

What a fabulous place to stay! We returned home yesterday, and are already planning a return visit next year! Superbly located to be able to ski in / out, good size rooms with plenty of storage and an amazing shower!! The choice of food was excellent, both breakfast & dinner, and was plentiful (some reviews stated that the food ran out, never happened during our stay!). The staff are all friendly and nothing was too much trouble Spacious ski room with heated boot rack in individual lockers - can get rather warm in there, so avoid the 9.30 rush!! We took a little travel kettle with us, but no fridges in the room, which would be my only gripe. However, not enough to stop a 5* review!

Just returned from skiing trip in sestriere and stayed in this hotel...the location is amazing , the food is plentiful and delicious....but what really makes this hotel amazing is the amazing staff ,,,special mention to nicola,Alfredo and francesca

Great location, modern spacious rooms with lovely staff. Perfect location for a ski holiday - so close to the slopes. Rooms are clean with plenty of storage and a great shower. Dinner is buffet style with wine on the table. Lots of options/choice available - I really enjoyed the food throughout the week. The staff were fabulous throughout - Nichola in the dining room looked after us every evening, Marcello the bar manager gave great wine recommendations and was also so helpful, Alfredo and Frederica were always smiling and helpful. A very enjoyable and easy stay - would recommend and would return!

Du Col is ski-in-ski-out; great value, exceptional staff, perfect location in village; good pub atmosphere. I’ll be back😉

We spent a week at this hotel from 18 to 25 January 2026. Very professional and friendly service. The lady at reception :) :) :) SUPER STAR. The waiter who served us (I don't know if his name was Bepe?) was incredibly polite. So we have another SUPER STAR. The food was typically Italian and, what's more, no dish was repeated during the 7 days. The ski lockers were clean and spacious. Two minutes from the nearest ski lift. We will definitely be back next year :) :) Thank you again for the gift on our wedding anniversary. Aleks & Miro Room 140 ;)

Michele and Greg's team are a credit to this hotel - they embody the best within the service industry and really look after their guests, which is even more important given how little Crystal seem to care. From speaking to fellow guests on our week stay, there's a litany of issues that Crystal have left unresolved, from missing equipment rental to following up on luggage that doesn't arrive. When our return transfer didn't show up for an hour and the rep's number goes straight to voicemail, it was Michele who was there for us, on the phone chasing up and reassuring guests. Oh! The food's fab and the location's great too. Enjoy your stay!

Nice clean and tidy hotel in the center of Sestriere located 100m away from ski slope/station. Rooms are sunny with slopes view or street view ( if you are not lucky ) Large skiroom with lockers. Free deposit box in the room. The bar is typical Irish/English ugly wood style with large screens ( football etc ) really boring. 7 EUR for 0.4 pint it's overpriced. The menu breakfast/ halfboard it's really good with professional hard working serwis.

Great location, modern spacious room with a balcony looking out onto the slopes (What a view!), skiing is excellent, the staff are so helpful, the food is varied and plentiful. Thank you Hotel du Col for making our holiday so good.
