Reviews
We choose early season (last week of May) when air temp is in mid 20C and water pleasant enough to swimm...and prices are much lower than in high season.
We love this place for many reason... it has great location in very quiet area, just minutes from nearest Pippara beach with lovely view and walking distance to few other picturesque beaches.
The rooms are very comfortale ( we stayed in comfort room- very clean and spacious, beds very comfy).
Food- we choose half board option. Dinners are great- big selection of pasta, apetizers, hot meats and fish and yummy desserts. Wines are slightly overpriced but still affordable.
Breakfasts- selection was slightly limited comparing to dinners. Some bigger variety in cheese section would be nice. Also quality of coffee could be improved (in the coutry famous from coffee)...but these are minors and overall we were very happy with served food.
Restaurant staff was super friendly helpful and smiling (was nice to meet again many familiar from previous stays faces -Marco, Riccardo, Massimo and others).Thank you all.
We are surprised to read 2 or 3 stars reviews because our experience based on our 3 stays is very positive and would definitely recommend this place.
It's true it is "away from everything" but for us it is a big plus-you can really rest and relax in beautiful enviroment.
I'd like also to give credit to entertainment team who makes this place special. We were so happy to meet for the 3rd time Alex who makes evenings a very special time. He is a singer and DJ, singing and playing 6 nights a week beautiful Italian songs and famous hits. He is very friendly, always smiling and recognizing customers. We were even encouraged to dance.
We had so much fun with young people from animation team (Enrico and Samuel) who together with Alex made our evenings truly special ( we haven't missed even one night). Many thanks!
Grande Baia is a place where we rest and relax.
We're looking forward to be back in 2026.
Thank you to all staff for making ( again) our stay special.
Rooms are specious and clean
Staff are friendly and nice
No much to do in the resort and around it.
The resort is very far and isolated, no walking distance to any restaurants or shops .
Swimming pool - salty water ( see water ) , out of date , no safety walking around swimming pool , loose cheap plastic around swimming pool caused my husband to have a big fall and injured his knees and hands, luckily he didn’t break a bone
No adults entertainment/shows.
The same breakfast every morning, no olives or collections of cheese.
Will not recommend it.
We booked this quite a way in advance, mainly because it appeared good value, which should always be a red flag I guess but for the money we paid it made for a good base. But nothing more, pretty mediocre.
I suspect it was built in the 80’s with high aspirations but over the years has slipped due to lack of investment. Which is a shame as it could be remodelled into a great place. It would of course help if more properties had sea views but many are either facing the wrong direction or not quite high enough, yet they seem to own a lot of land slightly higher up so… 🤷🏼♂️.
When we arrived at our chalet it still had the previous guests old towels on the floor and empty drinks on the kitchen side, which of course made us question the cleanliness of everything including the beds/sheets. We spotted some cleaners and tried speaking to them but failed with our poor Italian, so we text reception and later we had fresh towels.
The pool was freezing! But that’s quite common on the continent I guess. Pool bar food was “okay” which we sampled on our arrival day but we ate out the whole holiday otherwise so I can’t comment on the restaurants on site.
Reception staff were pleasant, particularly the females.
The beach is a short walk away, nice enough with a great view.
Overall we wouldn’t go back, I’d rather pay a bit more to have a decent view and more a more luxurious feel.
On another note you only get beach/ pool towel given free of charge on the first day but if you want to change it for a fresh one the next day they will charge you 3€ per towel every day after.
Beach is nice and private with deck chairs and umbrellas provided complimentary as you are staying at the hotel and there is a beach bar there too. It has a small sky bar at the front above reception which can be nice in the evening and a pianist in another lounge bar . Cocktails are of limited choice but they make them well . There is a small supermarket on the premises and a place to do car rental . The staff will provide the basic in terms of customer service and they won’t do anything special if it’s a birthday celebration or anything.
Pool is sea water and is lovely when it’s hot. There is a spa and wellness centre there too.
Buffet is lovely and lots of of choice . It’s not a luxury place in terms of ambience but clean .
Ala carte serves good food and house wine is really cheap
