Triscinamare Hotel Residence in Castelvetrano

For context, this was booked through DAE who became 7Across (part of RCI)
We were asked for 200€ on arrival , to cover linen, cleaning, aircon and the beach activities such as pedalos etc. You also pay a 100€ deposit however this is only returned to you if you have cleaned the apartment, especially the kitchen, so I am not sure which part of the 200€ is used for cleaning. We had to ask the housekeeper to return to our apartment as the shower was awful. First of all they said the mould/scum would not come off but when my husband demonstrated that it would they begrudgingly cleaned it. Also the oven and the pots and pans and cutlery were unclean and when we asked for them to be cleaned again they said it was how the last people left it! As no cleaning products are supplied or even any washing up liquid, a scourer, dish cloth or tea towels etc I am not surprised that it had been left like that!
There was also an pleasant sewage smell in the bathroom.
There was no sign of any windsurfers, pedalos canoes etc on the beach and the beach chairs and umbrellas are not actually on the beach at all but behind a fence and it’s all rather tatty.
The aircon is restricted and turns off early in the morning so you wake up very hot!
We were given one thin bath towel and a small guest towel each for our weeks stay and there is no washing machine. We also had to use one of the towels as oven gloves as none were provided. Also the 200€ does not cover toilet paper or kitchen paper.
The apartment is very badly equipped for self catering and there is no where that you can walk to a bar or a restaurant as everything was closed or too far away. There is no garlic press, tin opener, or anything to dish up pasta. There are no big mugs for tea or coffee but there is no kettle provided (even if you go and ask for one) so you can’t have a cup of tea anyway! There are no big glasses for a beer or a gin & tonic and no ice cube tray.
More importantly there are
No fire blankets, fire extinguishers or a carbon monoxide monitor and you are cooking on gas!
The internet dosnt work at all in the bedroom of the apartment despite the information saying that the internet is available everywhere. And we finally discovered that you have to log off and back on again every time you wanted to use the internet. It would have been useful if we had been told that at the beginning or when I made numerous trips to reception to ask for help.
There is only a children’s pool and no proper swimming pool. There is a children’s play area full of tatty plastic play equipment.
Infact, the whole place is very tatty and old fashioned.
All in all a very disappointing stay which cost us a lot of money ( including the lost revenue from the holiday let we exchanged). We certainly cannot recommend Triscinamare and won’t be using DAE/7Across again.
