B&B A Casa dei Nonni in Enna

Enna is a little of the usual tourist track and so so worth a visit. Accommodation in the heart of Enna Alta, easily accessible via the bus from Enna Bassa after arriving by train. Its an extraordinary trip up the mountain! Walking round Enna is fabulous, lovely local vibe, not overrun by tourists, and kind and curious locals only too happy to chat and help. Fabulous views of the surrounding villages, especially at sundown. The apartment is entirely comfortable, sparking clean with all necessary amenities. If you are catching the train from Siracusa to Palermo, go via Enna - you need at least one full day, preferably two nights to just wander and enjoy.

Clean and modern apartment with 3 private rooms with shower/bath. No fridge, small TV with lots of all-Italian TV (why can't ANY place in Sicily offer other languages on TV, at least 1 English, 1 French, 1 German, etc.?). Shared fridge with weird breakfast choice, either in same apartment with packaged food OR at a nearby bar with only coffee and croissant (no fruit, juice or other options) ... not a good option in my place and it should be done better with someone on site to make real coffee and offer fresh breakfast items. Parking is a real pain and crap shot to find somewhere, nowhere near. Overall, not highly recommended.

The property is located in the center of Enna alta, convenient to reach the various points of interest: the Cathedral of Enna (beautiful, read my review and look at the photos and videos I posted on the subject), the Castello di Lombardia and the Tower. The room is medium in size, as is the bathroom, in good condition, recently refurbished.
I recommend a walk on the Bellavista terrace from which you can admire a fantastic view and there are a couple of restaurants absolutely to try (even those reviewed).

The breakfast room is located right in front of the rooms, so very comfortable.
The only flaw and also meant to be a suggestion is the breakfast itself.
The idea of ​​self-service breakfast (already found in other accommodation facilities and I find it excellent for the freedom of time and management) is beautiful and functional, but the offer is also important.
It is necessary to improve the quality and variety of fruit, the packaged brioches absolutely rejected and other fresh pastries such as cakes etc. should be offered. and cereals.
Nice instead to find vegetable milk if requested.
Of course it is a greater commitment, but the prerogative of a B&B which means Bed (bed) and Breakfast (breakfast) is to offer this service and the breakfast must be at least up to par, I don't mean a hotel, however .. .
With these few tricks it would have been a full 4 star 😊
