It was very convenient because you could take a water taxi directly to the hotel. You can also take a gondola right in front of the hotel, and it is very close to St. Mark's Square. There was an Italian who could speak Japanese, and the staff were all very kind. There was no conditioner or toothbrush, but I didn't mind. The room was very nice.

I came here 20 years ago as a kid with my parents and remember having a great time. Came back with my partner and had a wonderful experience. It’s romantic and the oriental bar and breakfast are amazing. Have fun!

The Metropole offers a sumptuous interior -- plush velvets, stunning flower arrangements and a collector's treasure trove on display -- in a perfect location. Best of all the staff is impeccable in their courtesy and efficiency. We have been coming for five years now and cannot recommend this hotel more highly

Amazing romantic hotel, very clean with high standards, spacious rooms with good menus and food, and a great location for venturing out and going on walks. Perfect for a city break. views, all in all - 'excellent'!

The art collection and history still make this a fantastic experience, but definitely getting a bit tired.

Would benefit from a bit of restoration and detailing (but not modernization or renovation - those would ruin the charm). Some basic stuff like power points by the bedside and ditching the old style combo bath/showers would go a long way. Also, get rid of the TVs or mount them on the way and hide them behind a curtain - totally ruin the feel of the room.

Location is great, perfect for exploring the major parts of Venice on foot (maybe less so for going off the beaten track). Otherwise, staff are all fine. Breakfast is good and the breakfast rooms and courtyard are gorgeous.

We got a canal view but this was pointless - couldn't see out without putting our head out and not much to see.

Very interesting interior, and helpful staff. Close to everything. Great breakfast. Beautiful views of the lagoon. Surprisingly not noisy even though the hotel faces a busy street. No iron allowed in the room, though, so if you have a function to attend you need to plan in advance.
