Locanda Antico Fiore in Venice

I would advise you to avoid this property. Our check in was smooth and I thought this property was a good price for the location. However as soon as we went into our room there was a musty damp smell from the bathroom. This was bearable for some time however both me and my partner developed coughs from this. After getting into bed we shortly saw a bed bug on our pillow and then saw that there were several blood stains on the sheets coming from either squashed bugs or them biting us. Because it was midnight, I thought we could brace through this however this along with the damp smell became unbearable and was making us ill. I messaged the host to change rooms and for the bedding to be changed. I awaited a response but cancelled the booking due to the room conditions and booked a new hotel for our stay. The host only responded after the booking was cancelled and I did not like the blunt and unhelpful responses. The property has concerningly good reviews, the reality is very different.

Most horrible hotel I ever stayed. It had spoiled my experience in Venice. The bed broke during the night. I have injured my back which caused me to considerable distress. Furthermore the bed was broken already as it had a duck tape on a broken area. The management/owners of this hotel do not care about the customers. There are no staff at the premises night also hardly during the day. When I managed eventually to get in touch with management I was told rudely that ' this things happen'! The breakfast is terrible. The staff are rude. The facilities are horrendous. Do not stay at this hotel.

Never got a key to our room
We never got a key to our room and needed to check in in another hotel . Very disappointed

We arrived at the entrance 20 minutes earlier and no one was there, with locked door. We tried to call and received an automatic message stating that the number does not exist! We started to think of a scam! Someone eventually arrived and opened the door, with no clear explanation about the telephone number. The room was dusty, a couple of light bulbs did mot work, leaking air conditioning. A big thank to Melissa, who helped us to have at least the light bulbs replaced and was very kind throughout our 2- night stay. Apart from Melissa and the good location, a poor and expensive experience.

I made a reservation at this hotel at 21h30. I received a message from the hotel at 22h giving me a code for the door and saying “upstairs you will find the key of the room number 7 on the 2nd floor”. I arrived at 22h30. I couldn’t find the entrance and sent them a message and tried to call them. No answers. A neighbour came out and showed me the entrance. After climbing a staircase, I pushed open a door that led to the reception desk to find a room completely plunged in the dark. I found the light but no key at reception. I made my way to the room after climbing a second flight of stairs. At the end of the corridor, I found room 7. There was no key on the door. I opened the door and turned on the light to find a room like in a horror movie. An unmade bed with dirty sheets and a dirty towel on it. Another dirty towel rolled in a ball on a chair. Everything very dirty and messy. I ran out leaving the light on and the door open. I'm a woman travelling alone and I was very scared. No one anywhere and no lights. I had to find another hotel when it was already very late. The next morning I received a message from them saying “you have to pay, shame on you”. They then called to insult me saying I left the room like that. I explained to them what happened, they pretended not to understand or that I was lying and they just hung up. I took pictures and screenshots of everything but cannot add pictures to this review. I'm still in shock and was very scared for my safety.
