What a lovely architectural design and wonderful atmosphere this cozy place offers. The antique-style interior made me enjoy using the stairs quite often. Not only because of the beauty of Venice, but also because of the superb hospitality of the hotel staff, my stay was truly memorable. Although I stayed in a small single room, it was more than sufficient for a solo traveler. The breakfast was delightful as well. If you have large or heavy luggage, I recommend taking a water taxi from Santa Lucia Station to S. Angelo port. It'll be less than 10 min slow walk to the hotel. It was very kind of the staff to inform me that I could leave my suitcase at the hotel before the check-in time. The superb location!!!

I really wanted to love this place - Beautiful location, great breakfast, wonderful staff. The complaint - The mattress in the room was a killer.
Made for the worst three nights of sleep Ive had so far in Italy. Hard to believe a hotel would still be using 40yr old mattresses. But maybe I slept on the same mattress Pavarotti, Corelli, or Freni slept on. That would have been worth not getting sleep for three nights.
Updated- I was wrong about the date the mattress was manufactured. The manager kindly clarified the mattress was newer. We still found our bed uncomfortable but I edited my initial comments and gave the hotel a more favorable 4 star listing.

Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes worked about as well as could be expected for a disabled traveler in Venice, but accessibility is mixed and requires planning.
Entry & Access:
Two steps to enter from the street.
Entry goes into a glass foyer that requires a tight turn to access the building.
I did not see a ramp at the entrance.
Inside, there is a ramp connecting reception to the hallway with the elevator and breakfast area.
Elevator:
Very small elevator.
Two people with a checked bag is a tight fit.
Elevator is slow.
If you have a timed luggage pickup, budget at least 15 extra minutes to avoid stress.
Room:
We requested a handicap-accessible room and were placed close to the elevator, which was very helpful.
Standing shower and bidet.
Shower is very tight.
No grab bars in the bathroom.
tl;dr: Helpful staff and some internal accessibility features, but small spaces, steps, and a tiny elevator make this best for travelers who can tolerate tight layouts and plan extra time.

The room was big for 2 people. Our room was kinda cold, maybe the heater didn’t work properly and the fan was also not working after awhile.
Beside that the location is good and the staff were very nice.

This hotel came as a pleasant surprise. Our travel agent booked at Fenice so we had no idea what to expect. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We never felt like we were bothering them. The pictures of the rooms online don’t do them justice. They are cute and super clean very well-maintained. The breakfast that is included is wonderful. I am so glad we had a chance to stay here and loved getting to know the staff. It is tucked away in a small type square, which means it is quiet at night, but honestly, right in the middle of everything easy walking distance too many things you would want to see and do. I would definitely stay here again.

I took the water bus to the hotel, but there were a lot of stairs along the way, which was a bit difficult with luggage. The hotel itself feels a bit old. The elevator only goes up to the third floor, so you have to take the stairs to the fourth floor. The room wasn't particularly nice, but it was standard and I had no problems staying there.

Excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from San Marco Square and the Grand Canal. Only a minute from the theatre and very close to main streets and shopping areas. Easy to get around on foot.

The hotel is nicely decorated with a theatre-inspired style.
Room
Room size was decent, with a large bathroom. Beds were comfortable enough and the in-room equipment was adequate. The air conditioning made a bit of noise but nothing major. No real view, though it was quiet. Some parts of the bathroom looked a little old and could use minor improvements.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We needed an early breakfast box at 5am and they provided one without issue.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was a great memory. It was clean and the location was convenient for sightseeing. We were able to leave our luggage after checking out, which was helpful. There were no amenities such as toothbrushes or tissues, so it might be more convenient to have them.

This hotel had such great reviews. I was really looking forward to my stay. The location was great. Very nice area and the ac worked well. However the wifi is horrible, and the rooms are so small.

Very nice for me in this hotel that was a great value for money. I booked directly on their website a single room but got a double spacious one at check-in (with a double bed, a couch and a bathroom with bathtub!) for a very good price incl breakfast. Hotel is very quiet, WiFi works great (videocalls for work) and AC does a good job.

Absolutely the perfect place where to stay if visiting Venice!
The hotel is very well located: right next to the "Vaporetto" boat stop, which allows you to easily move around Venice and reach various locations but also next to a lot of shops, restaurants and cultural places, and the main local attractions are easily reachable by a short walk.
The hotel itself is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, but what makes this place special is definitely the rooftop: it offers the possibility to relax on comfortable couches while enjoying an amazing view of Venice, especially if in the evening, at sunset time, it is very beautiful!
The staff was professional and kind and available to help at any moment of the day.
The only little issue was the shower in the room, which was very small and not so convenient to use.
Apart from this little issue everything was absolutely amazing, and would totally recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time in a beautiful city such as Venice!

Great location close to San Marco square and steps from a vaporetto stop. Good breakfast and cordial staff. The room had everything we needed, including mosquito-repellent wipes which were much appreciated.

Very nice hotel with a great location. The staff is very polite, the rooms are clean and, at least the one I chose (Deluxe Double Room), of good size. Very clean bathroom with tons of towels (p.s.: I've never seen towels that dry you up so fast as the ones they have 😅).
Good breakfast and the hotel also has a very nice terrace. Too bad it's only opened between 10.00 AM-10.00 PM. I think people use it either when drinking their coffee in the morning (so before 10AM), if they want some privacy, either after getting back to the hotel, at night (so after 21.30-10 PM). But I guess I can understand it (so that the other customers don't get bothered). So we only got to use it once in the 2 nights stay.
