Hotel Ca' Formenta in Venice

A very friendly, welcoming hotel. Great location, very handy for Arsenale Vaperetto stop. Comfortable, clean room. We had a view of the canal which was lovely. Good buffet breakfast served each day. I stupidly left my purse behind when we checked out. The staff were very kind and helpful. I was reunited with my purse and contents within 72 hours thanks to DHL and the staff at Hotel Ca Formenta. We would definitely stay there again should we return to Venice.

Small hotel, good location in quiet area, clean, there's a small elevator. Room was a little small but well decorated, the bathroom was small, towels changed every day. Breakfast room is so small, but there is a lot of food varieties. Stayed here for three nights. Staff were always available, professional & speak English.

Located on the waterfront in the Castello district of Venice, my partner, our friends, family member, and I had the opportunity to stay at this historic 18th-century boutique hotel at the beginning of our memorable trip in September on Via Garibaldi.

Hotel Ca' Formenta is a cute two-story pink facade with 14 guest rooms concealing equally unassuming yet clean and pleasant interiors. Upon entering their tiny lobby adorned in traditional Venetian style with gleaming tile floors, columns, and elegant blue upholstered seating, we were greeted by Elena and made to feel welcome.

The room was small and spotlessly clean with Venetian charm to it. We were glad to have great water pressure in the shower and a nice working air conditioner. A complimentary buffet-style breakfast is served daily with a good selection. The staff is always available and wanting to help.

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, it's a scenic spot, and the nearest vaporetto (water bus) stop is just a three-minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco, which is only a 10-minute walk away. There were plenty of dining options and bars in the area, as well as shops.

This was chosen by our travel agency, and we cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone reading this review.

Stayed here for three nights as part of our honeymoon and it was ideal overall. As good as you can expect from a 3 star hotel. Staff were always available, professional and attentive. Happy to speak english. Located in an ideal spot right in front of the waterfront and a short walk from anything you need in Venice including some quieter green parks to get away from the tourist crowds. The rooms were well maintained and private enough. The hotel lobby and breakfast area isn't very large so breakfast time can get a bit cramped and the breakfast food was OK but not a huge selection. Being next door to a busy bar ment there was a lot of bar noise until late at night but nothing too disturbing at all. Handy to have a back entrance onto one of the canals so it's easy to be picked up by water taxi directly from the hotel. We also appreciated there is a live webcam on the front of the hotel live streaming on the hotel's website so we could check out the location and weather before even arriving. Great little hotel, would recommend!

Had a pleasant stay here. Staff was excellent, rooms were well furnished, clean and it is very close to Arsenale ferry point and walkable from San Marco square.

We spent 10 days at hotel ca formenta. It was perfect. The staff always available and wanting to help, the rooms were cleaned daily. Bathrooms spotless. Breakfast had a really good selection of buffet food.
Fantastic location at the quieter end of venice, beautiful parks to explore and walk through, and only a very short walk to the hustle and bustle of st marco. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again, and hope to do so one day.

Best Location

A nice small hotel, B&B only, no restaurant. The room was small and lacked storage/wardrobe space, but had a great view down the Lagoon - until the Bezos show turned up! The staff were very helpful, especially the lady at Breakfast who looked after my Celiac wife ensuring she had Gluten Free breakfast items. We also had great local restaurant recommendations from reception.
