The hotel was in a quiet part of Venice. We were delighted to receive a free upgrade on arrival, but the jacuzzi tub was slightly dirty.

Liassidi Palace is our go-to hotel every time we visit Venice. We’ve stayed here three times now, and each visit has been consistently wonderful. The staff always go above and beyond to make sure we’re comfortable and well taken care of. The front desk and concierge team are exceptional, friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive to every detail.

On our last trip, we were originally placed in a smaller room, which made it a bit tricky to get ready for a wedding we were attending the next day. The staff noticed and immediately offered to move us into a larger room the following morning. That thoughtful gesture made a big difference and really showed the level of care they give to their guests.

The hotel itself is charming and elegant, with classic Venetian touches and a beautiful salon on the second floor where you can sit and relax. The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Square, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful.

Communication with the staff has always been easy, the rooms are comfortable and well kept, and the entire experience feels personal and refined without being overly formal. Liassidi Palace has become our home base in Venice, and we can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a hidden gem with true Venetian character and outstanding hospitality.

Stayed here 3 night with my daughter. First they let us check in early which was amazing. Room was of a very good size. Room was clean . Bathroom clean, water pressure in shower very good. Shower door not the best. Clean towel every day, which was nice. Bathroom had some very nice touches like the normal shower gel shampoo but also little box's with cotton buds and nail file and cotton pads. Room has tea and coffee but no pots of long life milk. Room has a fridge. Room has air-conditioning. Bed a little hard but ok. Overall room very good. Breakfast was very nice service good. Staff on front desk very helpful and friendly. Large air-conditioned area to wait if departure is after check out time. They will also look after your bags. If you want to go out. Overall very happy all round.

We encountered a few issues during our stay at Liassidi Palace. The sink drained poorly, but we didn’t mind much as we were busy exploring Venice. We had booked an Executive Suite via TUI for 4 people, but were surprised to find one of the sleeping arrangements was a sofa bed, which wasn’t clearly mentioned during booking. Photos on the hotel’s website show two proper beds in the Exclusive Suite with canal view, which differed from what we received.

One receptionist, Sam, was helpful, but other staff were less accommodating. Particularly, Barbara, the breakfast attendant, appeared to treat us rudely. As dual nationals (Pakistani and British), we initially thought it was a cultural difference, but her tone improved once she learned we were British, which left us feeling uncomfortable.

At check-in, we received a standard paper stating, “Local city tax NOT included: EUROS 4.50 PPPN.” After two nights, Sam informed us the “access fee” was no longer applicable since it had ended in July. We confirmed this online and were reassured.

Since our return flight was late, we requested late check-out. Normal time is 11 AM, and we were allowed to stay until noon. We offered to pay for a later check-out, but were told it wasn’t possible.

At check-out, receptionist Daniele informed us that we owed city tax. I explained what we were told earlier, but she insisted it was due and said her colleague had made a mistake. I agreed to pay after collecting our luggage. However, when I returned, the invoice included an unexpected €20 charge for water, though we had only taken non-alcoholic items from the minibar and returned the alcohol. We weren’t informed water was chargeable.

When we questioned the charge, Daniele became defensive and rude, saying, “It’s just 20 euros.” She was dismissive and spoke over us, citing her 23 years of experience. We stressed that it wasn’t about the amount but about being treated fairly. She eventually tore up the invoice, waived the water charge, and accepted only the city tax. However, she continued speaking rudely in her language, which felt insulting. We paid the tax and left the hotel.

Outside, she followed us and sarcastically said we should mention in our review that she “gave us water for free and allowed late check-out for free.” This was inappropriate, especially since we had offered to pay for a late check-out and were never told it had a charge. Her behavior frightened our child and soured our last moments in Venice. She also claimed to be just a receptionist, not a manager, and gave us her full name.

It’s unfortunate that someone in her position would behave in such a manner and spoil what should have been a special holiday. Her conduct was unprofessional and unkind.

Wonderful, charming little place. Staff were so kind and helpful, breakfast was so good, lovely rooms. It was so easy to get everywhere and right on a busy street but you would never know it, very quiet. Private courtyard in the front, perfect for people watching. Loved it!

We had a huge luxurious room, including a dry sauna. Breakfast was good, but pretty average in terms of food temps and freshness of ingredients. However, it didn't detract from the huge common spaces that made us feel like we had even more space. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. The hotel was an easy walk to so many attractions and they happily arranged a water taxi for us the day before we needed it. I also believe they'll arrange shuttles to Murano, but you'll need to buy tickets to view glass blowing once on the island.

The location is pretty much the only positive about this place. Well the staff was also nice. It is very run down and the rooms clearly have not been given an update or a coat of paint in years. It’s honestly hard to tell what was old vs what was dirty. Bring your own hair dryer as the provided is at least 50 years old and useless. The breakfast was the most depressing thing I’ve ever seen. Attached picture is of the wall next to the bed.

Perfect for a couple sightseeing seeing, we loved it here, stayed 3 nights.
Pretty central to most things, rooms are a decent size and conformable, only down side was it was so warm in the rooms. Soon sorted with opening windows for a while.
