One important detail to consider is that the hotel does not have an elevator, so travelers with heavy luggage or mobility concerns should plan accordingly. However, if stairs aren’t an issue, this hotel is an excellent choice. The surrounding area features several great restaurants and a charming café that is a favorite among visitors. Additionally, transportation is convenient—water taxis can pick you up just around the corner. The hotel staff is known for being friendly and accommodating, assisting guests with arrangements such as private water taxis to Marco Polo Airport. For a blend of history, comfort, and convenience, Hotel Ca’ Alvise is a fantastic option in Venice.
The location was great, with easy access to St Marks square and the Rialto bridge.
The rooms were a decent size, with a nice Venetian style to them.
Breakfast was served until a decent time (10am), and had a good selection of pastries and cold meats and cheese.
The breakfast offered was quite basic and monotonous, featuring the same options daily with no change. Additionally, the meal was losing heat due to the cold room temperature, and the food warmers seemed inadequate for maintaining the warmth of food like eggs and sausage.
It was clear that the hotel did not have a dedicated kitchen team, as all food items, including pastries and bread, seemed to be purchased from a nearby supermarket rather than being freshly made on the premises.
The staff responsible for cleaning the rooms also took on kitchen responsibilities. The breakfast area was consistently busy with personnel, making it challenging to enjoy a quiet meal. Furthermore, the seating area was notably chilly during my stay in November.
Upon entering the hotel room, you will be greeted by a distinct musty smell, which could be quite unpleasant throughout the stay.
The interior decor of the hotel did not reflect Italian style; rather, it suggested a Middle Eastern design influence.
The service was generally mediocre, and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was adequately upheld.
The hotel corridor can be rather loud, especially if you're someone who enjoys a good night's sleep. After a long day of exploring the beautiful city of Venice, the noise in the evening and at night might be a bit disruptive when you're trying to relax in your hotel room.

The hotel is very well located: right next to the "Vaporetto" boat stop, which allows you to easily move around Venice and reach various locations but also next to a lot of shops, restaurants and cultural places, and the main local attractions are easily reachable by a short walk.
The hotel itself is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, but what makes this place special is definitely the rooftop: it offers the possibility to relax on comfortable couches while enjoying an amazing view of Venice, especially if in the evening, at sunset time, it is very beautiful!
The staff was professional and kind and available to help at any moment of the day.
The only little issue was the shower in the room, which was very small and not so convenient to use.
Apart from this little issue everything was absolutely amazing, and would totally recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time in a beautiful city such as Venice!

Good breakfast and the hotel also has a very nice terrace. Too bad it's only opened between 10.00 AM-10.00 PM. I think people use it either when drinking their coffee in the morning (so before 10AM), if they want some privacy, either after getting back to the hotel, at night (so after 21.30-10 PM). But I guess I can understand it (so that the other customers don't get bothered). So we only got to use it once in the 2 nights stay.
