The hotel is well located for the Rialto bridge, that is its main attribute. It is old, as expected, and the rooms/bathroom/lift are all showing their age, but with such a building there is inevitably a difficulty in modernising it and holidaymakers should expect this. We did not eat evening meals in the restaurant, with so much choice around us, but had the continental breakfast -  average, not worth changing your plans for, carbs, carbs, and more carbs. All in all, I would stay there again, for the location

I recently stayed at Hotel Malibran and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located in an extremely central area of Venice, just steps away from the main tourist spots and very close to the big shopping district. Honestly, the location couldn’t be better—you can walk everywhere, and it makes exploring the city incredibly easy.

The building itself is quite old and would definitely benefit from some renovation, but despite that, the hotel is exceptionally clean. The housekeeping team does an amazing job; my room was spotless every single day, which really made the stay feel comfortable.

Breakfast was another highlight. There was a very good variety of options, and everything was fresh and well-prepared—perfect for starting a busy day of sightseeing.

Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel in the best possible location in Venice, with great cleanliness and a solid breakfast, Hotel Malibran is a very good choice.

The room was super clean! The staff was super friendly, breakfast was ok. Hot water wasn't hot enough for us, we didn't ask them to fix that as we stayed only for one night. Recommended!

Very disappointing experience. The room was bare, with almost no furnishings — just an old TV and a small refrigerator that barely worked. No coffee maker, no hair dryer, and no iron were available, which made the stay inconvenient. The bathroom had terrible water pressure, and mosquitoes were more common than guests. Breakfast was extremely limited — one type of boiled egg, a few slices of cheese and meat, and basic toast. The single elevator stopped working during the stay, adding to the frustration. The hotel felt rundown, noisy, and neglected. For the price, it’s absolutely not worth it. I would not recommend staying here.

As everything in Venice, prices are far too high, and desperately needed investment and renovation are not being done. Why should the owner invest anything if visitors come and pay anyways, isn't it?

The room is smelly due to the ugly decade old carpet, I do not even want to know the quantity of germs that may hide in there. Also the toilet and the breakfast room, just everything, needs a renovation.

And the coffee in the breakfast is not from an ordinary espresso machine, it's Nescafe! I think for a true Italian, this should be the worst crime of all.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and don't have to be blamed for any of this. But the owner should feel some consequences for this ripoff.

We stayed for 2 nights end of August 2025. We chose this hotel off of a hotel site and were very pleased. We wanted a hotel that reflected the culture of Venice and this did. The desk help was very helpful and gave us recommendations for things to see. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was good. On our departure, the manager called us a water taxi and led us to the location for pickup. It would have been hard to find otherwise.

Hotel Malibran is a cute gem tucked away in a quiet corner but located very centrally, less than 10 min. away from the Rialto station, so you get very tranquil nights while still being within walking distance from the main touristy areas. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and decorated in fantastic Venetian style. The AC is great and the linen is clean and new. The bathroom is on the smaller size but since it's an old building it's reasonable—it is still very clean and hygienic. I honestly had a wonderful experience here without breaking my budget (breakfast is included and has many options). I highly recommend!
