Recently stayed at Ca' Amadi for 2 nights before heading to the Dolomites to ski. I travelled with my wife and 2 college aged children. They have outgrown sharing a pull out sofa or queen bed, so I was looking for lodging with 3 separate beds in one room. That was tough to do in Venice! Mostly I could book 2 separate rooms (as I did in the Dolomites) or get an Airbnb. However, Ca' Amadi had a canal view family suite available that offerred a queen bed, 2 small beds and a bathroom so I opted to book that. The small inn/hotel was set back down a back alley near the Rialto bridge. The room itself was tastefully decorated and large, with a nice bathroom. There are 2 large windows that overlook a small canal only about 15 feet below on either side of the queen bed. During the day they gave a great view of passing gondolas, which seemed cool! You would literally look down on top of tem as they rowed by. However- at night the gondola traffic was replaced by regular motorboat traffic that passed by at almost all hours of the night. This ranged from party boats full of loud talkers & blasting loud music, to water taxis, to early morning (starting around 4am) commercial boats passing back and forth with garbage or daily supplies from the many nearby Rialto area businesses. The noise was loud, and frequent. To compound it the room itself was rather hot so you needed to crack the window to maintain a comfortable sleeping temperature. None of us got a good nights sleep which was sorely needed after the long redeye flight from the US. We did stay there Saturday and Sunday night so perhaps the boat traffic is less on weekdays. Aside from the boat noise it was a good value for what you got, in a central location easily walkable to the standard tourist areas. I do recommend bringing ear plugs or something if you book this room. I am not really a budget traveller, just got this due to my desire to share a room as the family. If I were to do it over again I probably would rent an apartment in a quieter area or just get 2 rooms elsewhere. My wife and one of my kids only got a couple hours of sleep each night and were kind of dragging during our limited time exploring Venice- would gladly spend 2 or 3 times as much to avoid this next time.

I urge caution to anyone considering booking here as the management are difficult to deal with- aggressive and rude if any feedback is given. It has been a surreal experience dealing with them and I wish I’d scrolled beyond the initial positive reviews before booking. The worst interactions I’ve had with customer service and totally unecessary.

Staying at Ca' Amadi was one of the highlights from our trip across northern Italy. It is tucked away in a quiet, private courtyard, which made sleeping and relaxing very easy. It's only a few steps away from a very busy stretch of shops, restaurants, cafes, and churches though, so we didn't have to travel far to enjoy Venice's nightlife or shopping. The room itself felt Venetian- beautiful glass light fixtures, tiled floors, large windows, etc. It was nice to feel like we were staying at a friends' house, and not a traditional hotel for the week. We'd love to come back again sometime.

Feel like royalty
Stunning boutique hotel on canal with beautiful, charming decor like from a royal movie! Very comfortable and in great location. Google maps needs better location directions. Would stay there again!

We stayed in the delux room with canal view which was lovely. Hotel was very quiet and quite small, we didn’t see anyone else during our 2 day stay, although we did leave early both mornings. It was perfect for our stay, within easy reach of the Rialto bridge water bus stop. Breakfast started at 9am so was too late for our early starts, but local coffee shops/ bakeries are easy to find. Would stay here again.

Rooms are charming and beautifully decorated. Great location close to Canal. Breakfast is priced reasonably. Staff friendly and approachable.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay here! Arriving was a bit confusing because Apple Maps shows the hotel on the wrong side of a canal. As others mentioned, there are stairs to lead up to the hotel, but that's how most of Italy is--especially Venice. The room was gorgeous and so was the view of the canal. The canal did get a bit noisy early in the morning because of delivery boats, so that's something to be aware of. We requested the canal view, so it was worth it for us. Also, ******* promotes this hotel as having water dispensers and it does not. Thankfully, the tap water in Venice is safe to drink. Finally, the lobby was beautiful and stocked with yummy cookies. The one staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful with directions. If you do plan to eat breakfast, make sure to let them know ahead of time because it isn't served otherwise.

The location is great, the surround is full of restaurants, snack bars, gelatos, the supermarket is 200 m away. The room with the bed for 3 people is big and has kitchen amenities It is located in a silent courtyard. The room with the second bed is really small and has no air-conditioning, only a ventilator The thermostat for the bathroom is very very outdated and puts itself on hold, we needed to call the lady in the reception to start it manually (though there is a guide how to do it, in an easy way) If you are afraid of rats, you may have a problem the courtyard is a regular visiting place for the rats, but I suppose it is normal in a city of canals. The ladies in the reception are helpful but seem moody all the time and seem like they do not like to be asked questions.
