Simoni 10 in Verona

I booked a room for one night after seeing the offer ‘ non refundable but flexible if plans change’. Having traveled extensively in Italy, I am used to checking with hosts (and receiving a response) if my arrival time suits them on booking. Since checkin time was mentioned as 8pm and my train to Verona was scheduled to arrived at 9, I asked the host if it was acceptable to check in later. I received a standard automated response stating check in and check out hours (8pm) and that I would be gladly welcomed. This happened once more until one day before arrival when the host actually sent a proper reply saying checkin closes at 8. I called them to clarify why I was getting a human response one day before while all these days I was not clearly refused, and was informed that since I was not respecting their rules, it is my fault. I explained my situation and asked them if I could either cancel (refused) or get a voucher for later use ( they had a flexible option like I said) and was told I was going to lose my money since they had to run the hotel even if I didn’t show up - which tells me the host either misunderstood my request or was insensitive. Would recommend to clearly note that host is inflexible with check in requests later than 8pm.

A very bad experience, the offer does not match with the reality. I was really disappointed. For you guys, this room must be your last choice!

Location and room size, towel and beding was good. But never expect breakfast, there's few packed cookies, coffee eatable. Milk and tea bottle in the refidge look bad and gone. Taste sour. And there was no parking, eventhough on hotel booking website showed it include parking.
