Stayed there for one night—the service and food were excellent. The location is also within walking distance of the main street. I’ll definitely stay again if I get the chance.
The hotel was very clean, and the staff were incredibly polite. It was definitely worth the money I paid. I also got to try both types of private open-air baths, and the in-room open-air bath was spacious enough. All the meals were delicious and thoroughly satisfying. My only minor disappointment was that the next course was brought out very quickly, one after another, before I had even finished the...
The hotel isn't huge but it has a quality feel to it. They offer free coffee in the lobby, and dinner was excellent – French cuisine that looked and tasted amazing. Breakfast is a buffet, but the selection was a bit limited and just okay.
This is the highlight of our trip in Japan. The food, service, cleanliness, location, room and the access to the loungue is just perfect. It was hard to leave this hotel at the end of our trip.
We enjoyed the inclusive services a lot. The private onsens were amazing and our room had a very great view.
Nice room and onsen bothe private and in room, enjoy stay and Kusatsu atmosphere.

It's incredibly spacious and pleasant. Among all the ryokans I've visited, this one is definitely top-notch. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
I booked the highly-rated Bouun Ryokan three months in advance, supposedly in business for 462 years! The interior decor and tatami rooms were surprisingly new. The room service, the dining environment for dinner, and the exquisite Kaiseki cuisine were all incredibly impressive. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. The hotel uses only the finest Japanese ingredients, and not...
The facilities are up to standard. But the location is a bit far from the centre of the attraction. Need to walk up the slope for getting to the hotel. So rmb to need call shuttle bus to hotel. The overall service met our expectation, but not exceeding. More specifically, other onsen hotel can provide similar service, maybe more.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, but the heating was a bit insufficient. The public hot spring was excellent, and the private bath was also good. Dinner was very generous, but breakfast was too simple.
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, about a 10-minute walk from the bus station. You can call the hotel for a pick-up, as dragging luggage uphill yourself can be a bit strenuous. The room layout is typical for a classic onsen hotel, nothing special but perfectly adequate. We only booked breakfast, and it was surprisingly delicious. Kusatsu truly lives up to its reputation as Japan's best...

We made the reservation just two days before, so we didn't have high expectations, but the meal was a buffet with local dishes and we were very satisfied! Everyone in the family was happy.
This time, I chose this hotel with the sole purpose of enjoying the hotel. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath and dinner and breakfast included. Sparkling wine was provided in the room, and it was sweet, so even I, who usually don't like wine, enjoyed it very much. The buffet had a wide variety of options, both in the evening and in the morning, and I was very satisfied. The dinner menu featured...
Now Resort was very polite and kind, attentive, greeting, customer service, everything was the best. However, the room I booked through Trip was changed because it was not suitable for families. Children were not allowed. I did book a room for children. I have photos and details. In the end, I paid just under 70,000 yen in addition to the payment to Trip to change the room (;;) The room was very nice...
The hotel is clean and tidy. The hotel has excellent Onsen baths with hot spring water. You can book a separate room with a bath, this is a 24-hour service. The hotel has a shuttle service to the center of Kusatsu. We booked a stay without meals, went to the center. In the rooms they give clothes and slippers in Japanese style
When I arrived, the door was under renovation, but everything else was fine.
Although it is a little far from Yubatake, there are minibuses that shuttle back and forth every 15 minutes. The food is very good, which is a bit unexpected. The hygiene is very good, and the hot springs are both indoors and outdoors, which is a very good experience. The environment is very good. It is very close to Tenguyama Ski Resort. In addition, there are free drinks in the lobby. The hotel's...

Front service particularly senior ones are not friendly. It’s far from lift place. Not a ski in and out place. Plus you can’t use lift to store your boards. You have to wear boots to walk down and up two floors. Surely not convenient. BTW food is bad.
Hotel is old, there was signs of termite infection that was cleared. Food was ok. Service was excellent, really everyone there was very helpful! Good location 300m to ski chairs.
Service oriented hotel with friendly staff and ski in ski out options to the highest mountain in Nagano (also has a ski/snowboard school with kind boss) Breakfast and Dinner options were plentiful and varied spread which is a better option for room with meals options as there isn’t much open by 5pm in the vicinity. Self drove up and takes 30min to navigate the road whilst bus would prob take an hour...
A bit old-fashioned, but the room was spacious. The food was just okay. It's a five-minute walk to the Yokoteyama ropeway station.
Great place, super close to the ski resort Take cash! No atms close
Shiga Palace Hotel is a great choice for its location alone—set right in the mountains, it offers easy access to the surrounding area and beautiful scenery that really adds to the experience. One of the highlights was the buffet meals. The food was plentiful, varied, and satisfying, making it easy to refuel after a long day of exploring. The rooms were very traditional Japanese style, which felt authentic...

Hotel Kajima No Mori, Karuizawa1 / 30
9.1
Karuizawa, Hanareyama, Karuizawa-machi 🧭 Map
We loved our stay here. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, and the room was beautiful. The entire hotel maintains a sort of romantic vintage feeling but has completely updated bathrooms and every sort of modern amenity one could need. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Karuizawa.
Very quiet and near a beautiful nature stream
We stayed here for just one night, earlier in the summer. The hotel itself is not new but immaculately maintained and the rooms are decorated in a simple but very tasteful manner. We had the best sleep ever on those beds. Absolute heaven. And, the prix-fixe dinners and the breakfast (selection of Japanese, American, or continental with fresh salad) are a can’t-miss. Would love to return.
Nice hotel in a quiet location Really enjoyed the experience at the hotel: located in an exclusive area. The staffs are very attentive. The breakfast is amazing and the service is top notch. It is near Kumoba pond. The scenery is mesmerizing.
Kind staff. Clean rooms. Beautiful area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mampei Hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed inside and out, the staff are fantastic, and the meals we had for breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all delicious, as were drinks at the iconic hotel bar. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay here! Service was amazing ! Rooms were spacious and comfortable
Ambiance: Excellent, surrounded by trees, very secluded and tranquil. Facilities: Very good. The breakfast was Western-style, but quite ordinary for a 5-star hotel standard.
Absolutely wonderful! I'll definitely go again with relatives and friends. It's a hotel with a rich history and culture. The service and dining were near perfect, and the surrounding area was very quiet, making it a perfect vacation spot.
It was a truly wonderful space. I'm so glad I stayed at this hotel, following my mother's recommendation.
True to its reputation as a seasoned five-star hotel. It has that old-money vibe, rich in history. The breakfast was excellent.

The room was spacious and the service was excellent. The location was also very convenient. I'm extremely satisfied! 👍
This was a wonderful hotel with really comprehensive service!
When I asked a young man at the front desk to arrange a car to the station, his attitude was cold and he made excuses. Another lady at the front desk quickly arranged it for me instead.
The room terrace during the autumn foliage season is truly dreamlike, beautiful in different ways both at night and during the day! It's worth coming just for the terrace and garden alone! A special highlight was leaving a note on Trip.com hoping for a room on the second floor. I didn't have high hopes it would be seen, but they actually arranged it! The service attitude is excellent. After arriving...
My family and I stayed for two nights. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, which made our trip truly enjoyable.
The hotel felt a bit dated, and the room was rather humid. Upon entering, the air conditioning was set quite high, and it took a considerable amount of time for the room to cool down. However, the service was outstanding. We requested assistance a few times, and every issue was addressed promptly. A special shout-out goes to the breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the seasonal main course: sesame udon...

The location is great, and the activities are well-organized. The shuttle service to various attractions is super convenient. However, the room layout is quite odd; my husband hit his head on the beam at least 5 times...
You can take the resort bus to Hoshinoya; the food and prices at the village canteen are quite good. From the JR station to the hotel, you can only take a taxi.
The room was great. The Stone Church is right behind the hotel, and Yulin Town is next door. There are also restaurants and hot springs nearby. It's fantastic!
The hotel was surprisingly nice. There's a church nearby, and a shuttle bus to the cafeteria. However, the cafeteria food was really bad. The Karuizawa area is somewhat similar to Aranya. Also, you'll need to take a taxi frequently. It's suitable for a vacation, but don't have high expectations for the food.
Superb! Very convenient for getting to Hoshino Onsen, with a shuttle bus. The bunk beds were fun, and the kids had a blast. The room had two separate spaces, which was great 👍. There were also two washing machines and two dryers, so we could do laundry every day.
The hotel has a nice, quiet environment and offers plenty of self-service options, making it more suitable for young people than families.

Spacious, clean and classic hotel. Very good services. Convenient with free parking space. Walkable distance to a variety of restaurants. Great breakfast selection.
Very nice and clean place for the rest Location is convenient for shopping to
It was a very spacious and beautiful hotel. The only inconvenience was that there were no power outlets by the bed.
Last year I stayed at the Hotel & Resort and it was great, so this year I chose the Kyu-Karuizawa location for its convenience. I was very satisfied with the clean rooms and the attentive service of the staff. The bathtub and shower booth aren't the most user-friendly, but since there is a large public bath, I guess it's tolerable. (After a short shower, the sink flooded. You have to be careful where...

I'd seen some reviews saying the facilities were a bit old-fashioned, but I actually found them to be perfectly fine. It was clean and hygienic, and the staff were very welcoming. Since it was winter, there weren't many tourists, so it was wonderfully quiet. We booked two twin rooms for our group of three adults and one child, and we were all really happy with the room views. We booked breakfast...
The room is quite spacious with a great design, and the bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. The lobby is grand with stunning floor-to-ceiling window views. There are shuttle services to the hot springs and outlet mall nearby, but the most convenient thing is the train station! 👍
I brought my own snowboard to Karuizawa. It's a 70-minute Shinkansen ride from Tokyo Station to JR Karuizawa Station. The Shinkansen luggage racks have straps to secure snowboards. After exiting the station, head to the hotel service center (open until 7 PM) located on the far right of the 7/11 convenience store at the South Exit (Pic 7). You can drop off your luggage there and then explore the Plaza...
Facilities: Although old, everything is in working order. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: Very pleasant, you could spend days here without even leaving the hotel. Service: The hotel offers a shuttle bus, and if you miss it, the staff will even arrange a business car for you, which is very convenient.
The staff are nice and helpful . The room is well equipped and cozy . The shuttle bus service and transfer service is thoughtful . The view outside is fantastic . The onset is great !
True to its reputation as an established resort hotel, the rooms are spacious, and the environment is excellent. The shuttle service is incredibly convenient. After arriving at JR, you can drop off your luggage at the Prince Hotel reception and go shopping directly. By the time you check in, your luggage will already be in your room. got its own ski resort, very convenient. no need for car rental.
Very good location, convenient pick up bus services to the shopping mall and skiing areas! Room have a very good view and clean, comfortable environment for the stay!
The cabin felt like being in a forest, perfect for a summer trip. However, the facilities are a bit dated, making the experience less comfortable. I should have booked a room in the main building. That would have made accessing the hot springs and gym much more convenient.
there is a great experience to line in Hotel West, Prince Resort, especially, the Hot Spring where is clean and is easy to make customers relax.
This was my first time in Karuizawa, and I picked this hotel blindly, but it turned out to be even better than I expected. The hotel is right next to the outlets, making shopping, getting around, and dining all super convenient. The room decor was also very cozy.
Unexpectedly close to both the outlet mall and the JR station, it's within walking distance. The hotel is quite large, and the rooms are spacious too, with both indoor and outdoor hot spring baths. It's a great place for couples and families with kids to stay.

The hotel is clean, nice view from the room. Ski in ski out is very convenient, locker is big enough to store 3 sets of equipments. Main drawback is no more free shuttle from the hotel to Ichinose starting March 22 and limited dining places in the hotel.
Good location, but small and old room. Overall still quite good. Recommended for ski in ski out
Everything is find and meet our expectation. Ski in ski out the hotel, free locker, also have onsen. No adverse comment and experience. It’s much convenient if you drive to hotel. Not much F&B choice. Ski gears quality are quite good in hotel rental shop. Room is small if u choose the cheapest type of room. However, it is worth to stay.
Had a nice experience here. The rooms had heating and windows that could open, which was great. There was hot water for showers whenever we needed it. We stayed for 4 nights in total and the rooms were cleaned on two days. If you need more towels on the non-cleaning days you can just ask the reception. The staff there were very helpful too. One thing that wasn’t great was that the room lights were...
service and environment is good, however too expensive, i would expect better facilities for this price
The ski-in/ski-out access at this hotel is incredibly convenient. The hotel also boasts a wide range of facilities. After a day of skiing, you can relax and soothe your tired muscles in the hot spring. Everything was great, except for the limited selection at the hotel's convenience store.

excellent services, great food and great onsen. Very large room, staff are friendly.
Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel & Resort is a perfect place for great views, relaxation and luxury retreat. We stayed on the top of the resort where the view of the Asama Mountain is breathtaking. Highly recommend! This is the best hotel in Karuizawa. The hotel has a very understated European style, and it took me quite a while to find the lobby. 😂😂😂 The room is huge; for this price point, it might just be the biggest room in all of Japan. The hotel is famous for its Western cuisine. Dinner and breakfast for three people only cost a little over 5000 RMB. If I ever come back to Karuizawa...
Fantastic resort with western artistic style. Location a bit far but that’s the purpose of a resort! Nice views from the hotel and gorgeous photo taking spots. Onsen also not bad
I stay at this hotel every year. It has a traditional, old-world feel, with a quiet, private atmosphere. The hotel restaurant serves French cuisine, but reservations are required. There are two hot springs, both with their own unique charm.
There maybe BED BUGS, My back was pinched several times during the stay.

Tawaraya is a very nice Ryokan and Onsen in the small town of Yudanaka. While not very distinctive from the outside, the interior is very quaint. The rooms are traditional Japanese tatami rooms with futons and low tables, and ours had a private western-style toilet attached (with all the Japanese gadgets that are the norm!). There is no private shower or bath attached to the room, however the main...
Google Maps navigation was inaccurate, constantly changing between front and back streets. It took me 20 minutes and several questions to find the right place. They should change the picture of the main gate and put the sign inside. The heating would automatically turn off. I woke up cold the first night because I had to wait until the next morning to find someone to restart it. They explained it...
Some of the best customer service we've ever experienced. Ms. Abe was wonderful and her English was excellent. The outdoor onsen was perfect, truly beautiful. A big, well landscaped area, truly relaxing. All guests get to reserve 30 minutes of private use each evening, which was wonderful, but you can also go back during men's time, women's time, or mixed if you want to enjoy some more. The breakfast...
We book this ryokan at the end of our stay in Japan, we thought we still have the energy to go to shiga kogen after snow monkey and just sleep at the ryokan, but I was wrong. The boss's service is very considerate and thoughtful! The room is very clean, the outdoor hot spring, the environment is very good
This traditional Ryokan hotel is a little gem of a place and the family hosts are just wonderful. Had the best night sleep of my 2 week trip to Japan sleeping on Ryokan bed.
