Pension Eden, Naganohara1 / 23
7.7
Naganohara, 1988-400 Kitakaruizawa 🧭 Map
It is a clean and homey good pension. A delicious meal with plenty of vegetables. Toilet and bath are shared but clean. If it is with a dog, Kita Karuizawa best friend may be.
I stayed with my pet. The food is delicious and the facilities are beautiful. The service is also attentive. Kirara is also healed.
The food is completely homemade and very healthy and delicious. It's not fancy, but it's enough to fill you up. It's a great location to escape the heat in the summer and enjoy skiing in the winter
It is a pension where you can stay with your dog. The owner couple are very warm, gentle and welcoming. Although it is small, there is a dog run, and the dogs are satisfied
It is a pension that can be spent with Honobono. A small open-air bath is also great. I wished the food was so full of vegetables (laughs).
To enjoy snow at Karuizawa Snow Park (Wanwan Paradise, Dog Run), you can arrive in 30 minutes by car. It is very convenient geographically. I think it is a convenient place to go to a dog run both winter and summer

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were incredibly polite. It was definitely worth the money I paid. I also got to try both types of private open-air baths, and the in-room open-air bath was spacious enough
Highly recommended. Definitely worth the money. (Free) shuttle service from/to Karuizawa saved us much time. All the onsens (including the one inside the room) are enjoyable. Definitely will visit again.
This is the highlight of our trip in Japan. The food, service, cleanliness, location, room and the access to the loungue is just perfect. It was hard to leave this hotel at the end of our trip.
I strongly encourage the private onsen package where we can taste three different type of onsen in the hotel. My platinum ring changed colour, may be due to the acidity of onsen water😂
Stayed there for one night—the service and food were excellent. The location is also within walking distance of the main street. I’ll definitely stay again if I get the chance.
The hotel isn't huge but it has a quality feel to it. They offer free coffee in the lobby, and dinner was excellent – French cuisine that looked and tasted amazing

The rooms are clean and tidy, and the onsen features two indoor baths and an outdoor hot spring, which is very comfortable. The staff are extremely polite and professional, providing excellent service
We've never been to an "onsen" before but this hot spring is out of this world. We even get to dress like the locals. Great hotel and delicious delicacies. A must for first timers.
The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Yubatake and a 5-6 minute drive from Kusatsu Station. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to and from the station
As for facilities, the hotel has a bit of history, so it shows some age, but the overall impression is still good
The location is excellent, with parking available. The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious. The hotel's public hot springs were clean and had many pools to choose from. The staff were friendly and spoke English
The hotel is not far from the Kusatsu central area, about an 8-minute walk from the Kusatsu bus stop. I had booked a tatami room, but was given a twin room instead. The room was spacious with windows on two sides

Ryokan Tamura, Kusatsu1 / 17

Kusatsu, 305 Kusatsu, Kusatsumachi 🧭 Map
The hotel doesn't have a dining hall, so they use some of the unused guest rooms as your private dining venues which is a plus. To be fair, it doesn't offer fancy dinner or service but for what you pay, it's great value
Last but not least, it also has a parking facility which is quite rare in the area, so it's another plus if you are driving
And the staff there are so friendly and hospitable. To have this service and quality at this price, this is definitely one of the best place I have ever stayed in
Is it the best hotel in this famous hot spring town? Nope, but it is very good value in my opinion
The hotel serves up to seven rooms a night and since there are two free private onsen rooms plus the bigger male and female individual rooms which are hardly used by anyone, you can almost always get your private hot spring which can cost quite a bit if you are to book a room with private bath
Stayed here overnight as part of our honeymoon. Owner + staff were welcoming and the ryokan overall was lovely

We arrived late around 8pm since everyone was resting but they waited for us and helped me to make restaurant booking after we 4hrs drive to the hotel. The bbq near by is good and local
The location is just one step out from the spot. We enjoyed the hot spring in a private room and this is a Japanese style hotel that we are looking for. I will definitely visit again
Loved this traditional ryokan in kusatsu right next to the hot spring in the city center. They have a private onsen to use for free upon availability which we enjoyed a lot
This is awesome place that you must choose to stay! The two gentlemen are amazing with great attitude and services
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast with view to the spring is definitely a highlight
The location is fantastic, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are all very kind!

We stayed at this 5th generation, family run ryokan for 2 nights in October and had a lovely time. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the ryokan, which included a manga room, a piano, and the baths
Everyone we interacted with, especially the young man at the desk, went above and beyond to be extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was beautiful and the futons were very comfy
Also perhaps this is normal for ryokans, but they wiped the wheels of our suitcases before bringing them inside from the rain, which we thought was inspired. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
We used the private onsen which was very relaxing. We had the breakfasts which were traditional Japanese foods, and they were able to cater very well for a vegetarian diet
We stayed here during our honeymoon trip across Japan and looking back, it was definitely the nicest place we stayed in. It is a traditional family-owned business
There were lots of little things that made this place feel special, like the family photos on the walls and the interesting historical artefacts on display

Kusatsu, 433-1, Agatsuma-Gun 🧭 Map
The room service, the dining environment for dinner, and the exquisite Kaiseki cuisine were all incredibly impressive. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included
However, the outdoor pools do not give you any views since they bamboo-fenced the surrounding. Parking is free and it is only 2 mins walk down the slope to reach Kusatsu town centre. A minimum 2N stay is recommended
It's incredibly spacious and pleasant. Among all the ryokans I've visited, this one is definitely top-notch. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
I booked the highly-rated Bouun Ryokan three months in advance, supposedly in business for 462 years! The interior decor and tatami rooms were surprisingly new
Both were exceptionally thoughtful. However, I must criticize a young male receptionist at the front desk – fair-skinned, round-faced, and wearing glasses. He didn't seem Japanese and was very impatient with guests
A high-end hotel like this shouldn't have such staff; it really detracts from the experience! Nevertheless, this won't stop me from staying here again on my next visit to Kusatsu

Picnic, Fishing, Table tennis, Pool, Tennis court
The open-air bath in the large public bath is very comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the snow while soaking in the hot spring. The hot spring water is piped from Yubata Genyu, and the temperature is quite high
The hotel provides rain boots, but I recommend wearing thick socks as the rain boots are quite thin. We will walk into the forest and reach the ski resort. We will hike in the snow for about an hour
It was the first time I'd ever stayed in such a large room in Japan! The breakfast and dinner selection was varied and authentically delicious; the indoor and outdoor hot spring environment was absolutely first-class – a true resort paradise
A very good hotel with a free shuttle bus to Yubata, the train station, and the ski resort. The hotel is large and has comprehensive recreational facilities, including bowling, karaoke, and billiards
It's a long walk from the reception to the rooms, but you'll pass a large gift shop with prices the same as the gift shop next to Yubata, and you can even get tax-free shopping
The hotel's most unique feature is its series of walking/hiking activities, with three sessions in total. I participated in the 7:00 AM forest hike with a professional guide

Hotel New Koyo, Kusatsu1 / 18

Kusatsu, 464-34 Kusatsu, Agatsuma District, Gunma 377-1711 🧭 Map
Location was great stone throw to the skifield. I looked out directly to the ski slopes, absolutely stunning. The complimentary breakfast used a ticketing system, that you have to get the ticket in the evening each day
From then, you can walked to the center of the city. I would go back to stay at this place again as I mentioned it has a charm. I would not recommended this hotel, if you are looking for modern stuff
Being able to experience local breakfast in a buffet style was excellent. Some people may have certain dietary requirements, so this style was great. The room was a little old but very comfy
The bathroom however may need some improvement. I have not told the management but the shower head water sprayed everywhere but in a straight line, but this may be down to luck
And I am sure they will do something if mentioned. Also yukata and haori? were provided, but I'm not familiar with it. Onsite onsen, didnt' have chance to check it out
The old atmosphere and onsens, i fell in love with that hotel upon my first day of arrival, there was a blizzard outside, lots of snow, i had a great time walking outside and then came to hotel and went straight to onsen, it was pleasant time being there

The staff will help us make the bed during dinner in the evening, so we don't have to do it ourselves. I had a comfortable night's sleep and overall felt good. Japanese-style rooms are cheaper
The room was larger than I expected and I was very comfortable. The open-air bath was also very comfortable. The front desk staff were also very kind.
On my departure day, they kindly offered me a ride to the bus terminal, which was a huge help. Although the location is a little further out, the outstanding service more than makes up for it
It wasn't a buffet, but it was delicious. I was glad that it wasn't a buffet in the morning either. I was able to enjoy my meal at my own pace.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to provide excellent service
They even arranged to pick me up from another hotel, patiently explained everything I needed to know, and made sure I felt welcomed. The room was very clean and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious

The buffet had a wide variety of options, both in the evening and in the morning, and I was very satisfied. The dinner menu featured sushi and Joshu beef, and everything was so delicious that I ended up overeating
The porridge served for breakfast was a personal favorite. The hotel also has a convenience store and playroom, and you can enjoy a stamp rally, so I recommend playing while touring the building
Now Resort was very polite and kind, attentive, greeting, customer service, everything was the best. However, the room I booked through Trip was changed because it was not suitable for families
The hotel has excellent Onsen baths with hot spring water. You can book a separate room with a bath, this is a 24-hour service. The hotel has a shuttle service to the center of Kusatsu
There's also a shuttle bus to the Yubatake, making transportation easy. I was very satisfied with the room, food, and facilities, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel
Sparkling wine was provided in the room, and it was sweet, so even I, who usually don't like wine, enjoyed it very much

Dinner buffet is lots of delicious cooks Including japan local ,Chinese dumpling, desserts, ice cream And then you can enjoy hotspring to relax the tour tiredness and also go to the forest to absorb the energetic air
Great Hotel with lots of amenities for kids and adults. There are 3 different restaurants that you can choose , Japanese style , Foreign style and an open buffet
Nearbybthere is a very big Kids entertainment park with animals and toys. Restaurants starts from 8 pm and you can enjoy the hot springs( inside the hotel)
If you go to japan and come here Don't miss the fulfill comfortable atmosphere hotel
At first I really couldn't find the main door
I thought I had to take the stairs to carry my luggage up, but I ended up taking the elevator from the hot spring area to the second floor and walking through the overpass to the main building to check in! The environment is very beautiful and the soup is also good!
