This will likely be our favourite stay of our entire trip! It felt like the most warm homely and welcoming step back into a Japan that is rapidly disappearing.

The food is sublime, effectively a 14 course tasting menu of authentic local food, sat on tatami mats with the wood fires next to you, dressed in a lovely Yukata provided by the ryokan!

I cannot recommend this stay enough, the mountains around are gorgeous. We got off the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka at Mishima station and rented a car for the day to see Mt Fuji and Izu peninsula which all worked out great!

This small but lovely hotel is run by an elderly couple and is very close to our first hotel, Shirakabe Traditional Onsen Sanso. We arrived around 6:20 PM on the day of our check-in. After checking in, Grandma asked us what time we wanted to have dinner. Since I had booked a one-night stay with two meals included, I was quite excited about dinner – it was like opening a blind box! There was robatayaki (grilled fish), various local side dishes, sashimi, mixed grain rice, rice, and tempura. Just when we thought it was almost over, there was soba noodles and fruit! It was one round after another! The room was a simple studio. After dinner, Grandma had already made the bed for us. We went back to the room to change and then went to soak in the onsen. We seemed to be the only guests that day, so we had the onsen bath all to ourselves. The next morning, we had another traditional breakfast. After breakfast, Grandma drove us to the nearby Yushima bus stop. Overall, the stay was great value for money. Highly recommended!

A very cozy, clean, and homey hot spring inn. It's family-run, which is fantastic. If no one else is staying there, it's like soaking in a private hot spring bath – so relaxing! I'd love to go back with my family next time. 💕

A hot spring inn at the foot of the mountain. It's a family-run inn, a clean and cozy two-story building.

The hot spring has indoor and outdoor pools, both clean and clear. While soaking, you can smell the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms in the courtyard and hear the chirping of cicadas—it's incredibly relaxing.

Dinner starts at 6 pm, beginning with a sip of sweet plum wine, followed by sashimi, tempura, chestnut rice, and small fish grilled over charcoal since the afternoon—every dish reflects the owner's care and home-style flavors.

The only downside is that transportation to the area is a bit inconvenient.

Excellent! A thoughtful dinner, authentically Japanese, with extra yogurt for the children. Living in the mountains, listening to the stream and tasting stream fish, the grass cakes were especially delicious. The semi-open-air hot springs were also clean and comfortable, completely relieving a day's fatigue. Highly recommended!

This is a very traditional Japanese hot spring inn, small but cozy. It was raining heavily the day we visited, and soaking in the hot springs listening to the sound of the rain was truly soothing.

Since we arrived well in advance and hadn't yet cleaned up our room, Grandma drove us to the surrounding shops and recommended a cheap and delicious eel rice restaurant, telling us to ask the owner to call her after dinner.

Compared to the hot spring inn we stayed at the night before, Grandma's dinner and breakfast had more hot dishes, more like home-cooked meals, which left me feeling very satisfied.

After dinner, we rested for a while and soaked in the hot springs, then slept soundly until dawn.

A very warm and satisfying one-night stay experience☺️☺️The hot spring hotel is a small-store operation model, with only the hotel owner and the owner's wife🥰They are very attentive and enthusiastic to treat guests. I tried it because I saw the reviews saying that their meals were good, and it really did not disappoint☺️☺️The dinner and breakfast were very rich, and the charcoal stove where they grilled fish felt particularly warm during the meal. And the night I stayed, there were only my husband and I, and the owner and his family were also very hospitable, and everything was quite well prepared. 10 points recommend others to go to this hot spring hotel☺️☺️

You know the situation when you are going to country side to visit your grandma and she feeds you so much that you can't move and just rolling from one room to another? So visiting this place is like that, but it's a Japanese grandma and also there is an onsen

A very warm stay experience. The two hosts were busy and contagious. They served breakfast and dinner with great care and everything was perfect. If I have the chance I'd like to stay here again. In particular, the food is great, better than many more expensive hot spring hotels. There are few people, the hot springs are also good, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The landlord can provide pick-up and drop-off services from the bus station.
It should be noted that the river view room does not have a view of the river. The horn will be played to wake up in the morning, and the room on the first floor is a bit damp.

This bed and breakfast is located in a remote location, belonging to the suburbs, the exterior is an old-style old house, the interior is a modern decoration, with enough air conditioning, airtight, few insects, the most worth trying their breakfast and dinner, very authentic flavor!

We were the only booking on Sunday night. We had the whole ryokan to ourselves, and the staff were so friendly and even took the time to talk to us. Highly recommend! The food was great, and the onsen was fabulous.
