There aren't many people in Atami during winter, which is nice. The seaside hotel is pretty good. They have a shuttle bus service to and from the station, and it's not far from the beach or convenience stores. I traveled to Atami with my son and loved this mountaintop resort. It's a short, narrow walk up the mountain road, but it was worth it. My husband and I stayed here on a trip (using a car). Top hotels charge top prices, provide top services, and provide top meals. Since the hotel has a history, it will naturally be surrounded by new buildings, but the garden view is also good. If you want to stay in an expensive hotel once in your life, this one will be your first choice.

A little vintage, and lacking a few amenities perhaps but the onsen is great, the staff friendly and its a minute walk to the beach. Corona season made it feel like a ghost hotel, but we had the onsen to ourselves so that was nice.
