Hotel Aile in Beppu

Are all accommodations called "hotels"? This "hotel" is at most a hostel. The interior design is outdated and old. The room door is still opened with a key. The so-called hot spring in the room has a rusty locker and yellow stains on the tiles. The hot spring water is less than 3 feet deep, but the bottom of the pool is invisible. It looks like warm water with yellow mud. I don't know if it is a special effect of the hot spring. The hot spring has rusty pipes exposed. Looking at all this, I feel very sick. In short, I can't stand it and didn't soak in it. The open-air hot spring is better. The hygiene level is just acceptable to me. On the morning of the last day I left, I was still sleeping and was awakened by the sound of a crazy key to open my room. There was no door hole to see who was outside. I didn't dare to open the door to confirm, and there was no response to ask who was outside. I could only remain silent. The people waiting for the door to open could not open it, so they had to leave by themselves. It was really unsafe. The hotel staff also felt unprofessional. It's not the kind of unprofessional service that's bad, but the image. Basically, at the front desk, if you don't press the clock on the counter, there's no one guarding it. I stayed for 3 days and basically didn't see any staff. Maybe that's the case, so the hotel is full of cartoon-style notices to make up for the hotel's shortcomings. This hotel is not the cheapest nearby, but there are more good hotels with similar prices nearby. This hotel also doesn't have a laundry room. If you want to wash your clothes, you have to take them out to a laundry shop to wash them. I personally don't recommend this "hotel" at all. In addition to the above reasons, Beppu is not as lively as Oita. Except for the youme shopping mall opposite the hotel, which is open until 9 o'clock, all other stores are only open until 7 o'clock. There are only convenience stores and izakayas at night. If you don't have a reason to stay in Beppu, choose Oita Station. There are many hotels, prices are similar, there are large shopping malls, and large shopping pedestrian streets. Moreover, many trains go to Oita Station. Not Beppu, Kumamoto, Hakata, Yufuin, etc. Basically, except for the time I went to Hakata, I had to transfer at Oita to go back to Beppu.
