Clean room and convenient location, convenience store right opposite of the hotel. The room is spacious as well. We were lucky to have a room that can see the fireworks from our hotel room window. It was a nice stay.

Everything was very good, except the temperature in the room, because it’s super warm in winter, and it can’t be controlled in the room. Hotspring was very nice!

Never pay for your room in cash at the front desk, as the hotel will charge your credit card again. When I reported the double charge, the hotel denied it, claiming their surveillance showed I paid by swiping my card at their machine, and that they hadn't received a large sum of cash that day. They refused to provide me or any third-party platform with the surveillance video or photos. My credit card company stated the hotel's charge was a pre-authorization. Even more ridiculous, I later realized I hadn't even brought that credit card with me to Japan, so how could I have swiped it offline? This hotel is dishonest, and I suspect the front desk staff are pocketing the money. Everyone, please be careful.

The twin room was 26 square meters, clean and tidy. I stayed on the 16th floor, where I could see Beppu Bay to the left and trains arriving and departing from the station to the right. Both breakfast and dinner were substantial, and a special highlight was being able to try the local specialty, 'Jigoku Mushi' (hell-steamed dishes), cooked with 98-degree hot water directly from the onsen.

The hotel is within walking distance of the train station. As an established chain hotel, the basic facilities are well-maintained, the rooms are quite spacious, and the breakfast selection is decent. However, the following points were unsatisfactory:
1. The hotel air conditioning could not be individually adjusted, making the room stuffy. I had to ask the front desk for a fan, but it didn't fully solve the problem.
2. Upon check-in, I found stains on the duvet, which is completely unacceptable. When I reported this to the front desk, instead of apologizing immediately, the staff went to the back room to talk to someone, leaving me waiting for a long time. Although they eventually replaced the duvet, a chain hotel making such a basic mistake should be ashamed!

Hotel has nice hot spring. Single room typical Japanese style but a bit narrow to accommodate 24” luggage with both sides fully open. Buffet has good spread, but the meat stew serving was limited, after 8am there’s no more meat in the stew, left with the carrots, lotus roots etc. should refill as the buffet ends 930am. Like the hot noodles.

The location is decent, about a 5-minute walk from the JR station. The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the cleanliness is acceptable. The room didn't have much of a view and you could hear the train. The onsen and breakfast areas were very crowded. This Kamenoi wasn't as good as the one we stayed at previously in Toba. The hot springs in Beppu are definitely worth visiting!

This traditional Japanese hotel is conveniently located a 5-6 minute walk from the JR station, and it's popular among Japanese guests. While the facilities are a bit dated, the service remains warm and friendly. A minor inconvenience was that the in-room air conditioning only allowed for fan speed adjustment, not temperature control. Additionally, the women's hot spring bath was recently undergoing renovations, meaning men and women had to use the onsen at separate, designated times.

The room is spacious and clean. I love the onsen there. Amenities is available on first floor. They even provide a bag for guests to carry their stuff to the onsen, not a lot of hotel have that. The location is great, walkable to the shopping mall and Lawson is just opposite. The parking is free as well. That’s a huge plus if you are doing road trip.
