Upscale Ryokan with excellent food, service and facilities! Each chalet has a lounge and a bedroom, an outdoor area with private bath, veranda , heated changing room. ! We extended our stay, which rarely happened before!
Every corner of the hotel exudes warmth and significance, urging you to savor its beauty. The open-air hot springs are truly unforgettable, allowing you to relax while surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery
They offer a selection of local dishes that are both delicate and delicious, providing a true taste of the region's flavours. My only regret is not booking three consecutive nights at this extraordinary hotel
This hot spring hotel has been the highlight of my entire trip. The rooms and buildings are designed with a strong infusion of Japanese culture, immersing guests in an authentic ambience
It is a hidden hot spring inn. Family private baths are also available. You can relax with a small library or a lounge. The food is delicious and the wine collection is substantial.
During the night, the starry sky adds an indescribable charm to the experience, creating memories that will last a lifetime. The culinary experience at this hotel is also exceptional

That’s really splendid view at the room and private hot spring is extremely great too.
This hotel is amazing - the staff are friendly, the room is big and the view is beautiful. They also provide shuttle bus service which is really helpful
The sea view was amazing and beautiful. Room amenities is typically japanese style. English speaking reception and breakfast staff was very courteous, efficient and attentive. Had a ensuite onsen which we liked very much
Hotel was about 15 mins walk from Beepu station. Hotel style and amenities was very old school japanese. Good breakfast was individually served. Extra bed was a futon which was not comfy
Overall experience at this hotel was great and satisfying
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good so I didn’t have a chance to see the sunrise in the room. I might come back and try the private onsen next time!

If you are not careful, you will have to pay extra💰! Be careful⚠️
There weren't many people here, but there were 3 private baths and a large bath, so I used it 5 times. It's really the best for this price. Dinner is dinner, but let's finish breakfast
Nice hotel and good service. The hot springs are the best. Will come again’!
The Japanese-style room is very stylish, the private bath room is great, the room is heated, the breakfast is super delicious, and the staff is very friendly and kind. The overall stay is first-class and cost-effective.
Everyone goes to Yufuin for ryokans, right? I like Beppu here. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Since there weren't many people, I used the open-air bath and the private bath a lot
Dinner and breakfast were very high quality, booking indicated that I am sensitive to fish, therefore some dishes such as fish sashimi changed to beef sashimi, very sincere

Beautiful view towards the main street and the mountains. The indoor tub has higher temperature than the outdoor ones. At the male spa there is also a sauna, small but really nice, can have maximum three people inside
ONSEN review: for non guests entrance fee ¥500, pay at the reception where you can also get the onsen stamp. Take the elevator to the 7th floor and the walk up the stairs to the 8th floor where the onsen is
Free lockers, shampoos are provided. Bring your own towel, otherwise you can rent from the hotel. There is a big indoor tub, two outdoor tubs, one normal and one shallow for you to be able to lay down
I spent around an hour bathing and there were only two more people in and out of the onsen so I was alone the most of the time. Definitely worth the price, highly recommended
All the facilities are excellent and very clean. There is free water to drink at the onsen entrance. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly
Baths here are fantastic! Roomy rooms with traditional floor mat bedding, but comfy!

Although the place is small, it is very convenient Especially suitable for indoor walking in cold weather The bath facilities in the basement are relatively simple and the water temperature is relatively high, but overall it is clean and comfortable
The private open-air bath is located outside the hotel, very close to the hotel. You can bathe alone for 50 minutes as a family and enjoy this unforgettable moment.
Although we don't speak Japanese, the service staff kept smiling and tried their best to communicate, showing professionalism and courtesy. facility The hotel is exquisite
Later than that, it will not be open. There’s two convenience stores within 10 minutes distance however I’m not sure if they were 24/7
Very nice hotel - classic Japanese ryokan, hospitable hosts, several types of wonderful onsen. Wonderful view from the window of the soaring landscape, sea and mountains.
At night, there are hot mists surrounding the ryokan and town, which made me understand why Beppu was called the town/onsen of hell

Retro traditional style with no changing room, as soon as you enter you are in the bathing area. A small piece of wood on the floor and two baskets for your clothes is the changing place
The room was clean and nice, but it was too dry. The breakfast was very delicious Japanese food, and different foods were served for 3 days, so I could eat a variety of foods.
There is a shower head with a stool next to the tub to wash up yourself or you use the water straight from the onsen. Be careful not to splash water at the changing corner
One of the more affordable options in town. Located away from the train station and would recommend having own car. We stayed in the annex building and the room was large and only had wc
Measured the water temperature flowing in and it was 90. 2°C, of course you can add cold water to cool down the tub. Even though the whole area is small there is a big window which allows plenty of natural light
It's a pity we couldn't try breakfast and dinner, there was no such option when booking, and we couldn't order it on the spot. There's a delicious cafe for breakfast nearby

The floor was covered with tatami mats up to the elevator, and I felt persistent. The rice was carefully cooked one after another and was very delicious
The whole hotel is peaceful ground covered with tatami. We reserved the private onsen and was satisfied with the amenities. Bfast was a set meal with refillable sides and rice
Great experience. First stay in the hotel where our door shoes can not be worn. Liked the room, comfortable bed. English via translators only though. Indoor and outdoor hot springs. Private parking, attentive staff.
Located not too far from beppu station, its just a straight walk all the way
A fantastic hotel, roughly a 10-minute walk from the station. The onsen is very spacious, and the rooms are also new. Highly recommended. The lady who served us was very kind and gentle, and her English was excellent.
Hana Beppu Stay is clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing. The rooms are modern with a cozy touch, and the onsen is a perfect bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient yet peaceful

The accommodations were nice, the kaiseki was delicious, and the breakfast was also great! I think it would be easier if I could speak a little Japanese! Even if it's just listening! The staff were always smiling and friendly! I only used the hot springs for a short time, but the parking was available until 2 PM the next day at the checkout counter, so I could park and go to nearby Jigoku or Hyotan...
Lovely hidden gem in the Kannawa area of Beppu. It is walking distance to 5 of the 7 hells of Beppu. The ryokan has indoor and outdoor baths as well as private baths that can be reserved. There's also free parking onsite
The staff were friendly and helpful, and they could communicate in English, which was fantastic! The room was clean, and they thoughtfully left a welcome card with hot and cold water provided
The staff were friendly, and the food was clean and delicious. I don't speak Japanese well, so I used English, Korean, and gestures, but they understood me well and provided excellent guidance
What was funny was that when I asked, "What should I do about the hot spring water in the room? It's too hot?", they said it was hard to adjust the temperature because it was hot spring water
Good location, a couple minute walk to tram station. I forgot shampoo in the bathroom but the housekeeper kept it for me and the reception help me a lot for check it. Recommend.

The building is old, but with an auto-lock and card key system and handmade-style decorations, I could see the effort put into every aspect, and it made me want to support them
The in-room TV was large and wall-mounted (around 30-40 inches?), which I personally appreciated. There is a large hot spring bath on the first floor, and since I stayed on a weekday, it was almost entirely private
The water temperature was just right on the day I stayed, allowing me to relax and unwind. There is also a family bath available for advance reservations, so families with children can feel at ease there
My room was Western-style, but there was some noise from next door, so if you're an early sleeper or sensitive to noise, earplugs would be helpful for a good night's sleep
One of the shower heads on the men's side was broken, so I think it would be a good idea to replace it. If you're accessing by car, we recommend simulating which route you'll take in advance
ONSEN review: visited the onsen during the onsen festival and I can't find the entrance fee if you are not a guest. Shampoos provided, you need to bring your own towel

Excellent ryokan to stay and enjoy private onsen bath. The ryokan is super clean, neat and tidy. Dinner and breakfast meals were excellent and delicious. Onsen bath facilities are excellent, clean and very quiet
The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, making it an ideal place to rest and unwind. The location is also convenient—just a 7-10 minute taxi ride from Beppu Station
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that everything was well managed. One of the highlights was the ability to reserve a private bath, which made the experience even more relaxing
I stayed here for the first time alone at Beppu Onsen. It has a great, old-fashioned inn feel. When I checked in, a waitress (or was she the proprietress?) showed me to my room with tea and sweets
I've been booking inns with dinner included recently so I can try a variety of local dishes and specialties in small portions. Above all, the Oita Wagyu sirloin steak was absolutely delicious
All the baths, of course, are fed by natural hot spring water, and there are two private indoor baths and one open-air bath. Both were just the right temperature, around 40°C

As we were re-loading our luggage into the car, a man came outside and spoke with us, and allowed us to drag our bags back to the entrance, where they took them for us. But, we were still not allowed to check in
Of course we booked last-minute, and refunds to cancel were not allowed, so we almost ended up paying a lot of money without a place to stay! Because our bus was running a few minutes late, this rule caused us to have to run on foot from the station in hot humid weather to arrive just in the nick of time at 5:59pm
They then felt the need to re-iterate to me that we would not be allowed to check in after 6pm, but they already had our bags and had placed them in our room! We hastily hopped on a bus, and told them that the bus will arrive at 5:45pm and we would do our best to arrive before 6pm
He kindly gave us directions to Beppu station and told us how to get to the Jigoku pools tourist site. We began exploring around Beppu with a plan to return to the inn by 5:30, one hour before dinner
We were sweaty and stressed out when we checked in, but we were just barely “on time. ” ROOM: The room was clean, but the decor is outdated. The interior could really use a renovation
GROUNDS: The beautiful central garden was lovely to look at, and you could hear frogs chirping in the evening. However there is no access to the garden

Other hotels require you to buy and prepare everything, so this is perfect for family trips for moms who are always busy with housework. They have diapers and a place to dispose of them, which is really great
There are only 5 rooms, but the hot springs were very pleasant, the futons were very comfortable to sleep on, and the breakfast was very delicious. I think this is the perfect accommodation to stay with small children
Cozy atmosphere with good food and nice private bath that family can use. All the stuff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very convenient to get to local day onsen like Suji-yu, Mushi-yu and Hyoutan
This inn has a very homey feel. They have lots of toys for kids, including Anpanman DVDs. The hot springs are private, so you can adjust the temperature, and there are plenty of hot spring toys for kids
The inn is child-friendly and offers a reasonable price. Although I’m not sure whether the water is 100% natural hot spring, it is not very fresh. The food is good, and the staff are kind to small kids
They have all the necessary items for children, so you don't need to bring anything with you. They also have body soap for children in the bathroom, which was very helpful

The facilities are indeed a bit old, like the feeling of a hotel in China in the 1990s. The location is very good, just next to the JR station, less than five minutes walk
It's a bit close to the railway line, but the sound insulation is good. I stayed in a room facing the railway, and the noise was not loud when the train passed by
Not only did he help to store the luggage for free before check-in, he also took the initiative to deliver it to the room before check-in
The front desk clerk didn't speak English very well, but he was very enthusiastic and dedicated
But people who are very sensitive to noise when sleeping need to consider it
Great location, big room, nice

The fact that it is run by elderly hosts gives the place a unique soul — everything feels slower, more genuine, and deeply human. It truly feels like stepping into a traditional Japanese home
They made me feel safe, welcome, and deeply appreciated as a guest. The food was absolutely outstanding. I can honestly say that I have never eaten fish of such quality and taste in my life
The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, always present without ever being intrusive. Their hospitality reflected the true meaning of omotenashi: sincere, respectful, and heartfelt
This guesthouse was one of the most touching experiences of my journey in Japan. From the moment I arrived, I felt a rare sense of warmth and calm
Every meal felt like a gift, prepared with care, tradition, and love. I left this place with a full heart. It was not just a stay, but a cultural and emotional experience that I will remember for a long time
You could buy eggs nearby and enjoy steaming them in the garden, but you won't be able to eat that much. If you ask the landlady for alcohol, coffee, pudding, etc. , she'll bring you something exceptionally delicious

I chose this lodging as it seemed like a place where I could relax on a budget. If you book on duty you get a discount equivalent to the youth hostel membership rate. I was lucky as my membership card had expired, 2
We loved the Japanese style room with tatami mats, incredibly spacious room, amazing Japanese breakfast included in (low) price, great location that was walking distanc to Hyotan Onsen and the Beppu Jigoku (Hells of Beppu)
I enjoyed the local information. As I was walking to Blood Pond Jigoku, I came across the direct sales store of the pomelo processing factory that I had talked about, and felt like I'd gotten a little something extra
Beppu is a famous hot spring resort, but the main purpose of this trip was not to go there, but to take part in the Sunflower Casual Cruise, an event that runs around the Seto Inland Sea during the day
The rice cooked in a clay pot was delicious. There weren't many side dishes, but the grilled yellowtail in foil had a good broth. The yellowtail was different, if not much tastier than in Tokyo
The owner was super friendly and helpful and gave us a hand-drawn map of local onsens and restaurants. To note: Showers were only 7. 30am (same time as m breakfast at 7
