Hotel Yata (HOTEL YATA), Isawa Onsen, Yamanashi Prefecture - A two-day, one-night New Year's holiday! ~5-point rating~ Bad ⇒ Average ⇒ Good ① ② ③ ④ ⑤ 🔻 [First Appearance] ③ The hotel has a large entrance that reminds me of a hotel from the Showa era's bubble economy! 🔻 [Staff Response] ③ They came over as soon as I arrived by car, politely helped me unload my luggage from the car, and escorted me to the lobby. 🔻 [Lobby] ③ There was a small lobby directly in front of me upon entering, and it felt a little crowded. A friendly woman at reception kindly assisted me. An attendant guided me to my room while carrying my luggage. There was a pond with many beautiful Nishikigoi carp swimming around, and they sold food so I could feed them♪ 🔻 [Barrier-Free Access] ③ It was mostly accessible, but there were some small steps here and there. 🔻 [Room] ③ A very spacious and beautiful Japanese-style room with an outstanding sense of openness. 🔻 [View from the Room] ② Mountains in the distance, with only the peak of Mt. Fuji visible. The rest was the cityscape. 🔻 [Hot Springs] ④ There were two baths: a wine bath and a small private bath on a higher floor where you could soak while enjoying the view. The water was quite warm, and soaking in the fragrant reddish-purple tub was a very satisfying way to soothe my fatigue. The open-air bath was also very pleasant♪ 🔻 [Food (Dinner)] ④ We had dinner in a private room. This was the last meal of the year♪ Each dish was very stylish. There was a wide selection, including Koshu beef and crab, and they were all delicious. 🔻 [Hotel Shop] ③ The shop was small and mainly stocked local specialties and items related to Takeda Shingen. Being in Yamanashi Prefecture, there was a wide selection of Shine Muscat processed products. 🔻 [Cooking scene (breakfast)] ③ Since we visited during the New Year holidays, the breakfast scene was different from usual, with New Year's dishes that were a delight to the eyes♪ 🔻 [Seeing off on the way home] ③ We paid in the lobby, and the attendant carried our luggage to our car. Then, we had our photo taken at the entrance♪ Overall score: 3 🎉

The hotel has two hot spring pools. One is underground and has indoor and open-air hot springs. The open-air pool is a large stone pool. There is an indoor red wine pool on the 7th floor. The rooms are traditional Japanese-style rooms with toilets and showers. Please don't open the window. If not, there will be mosquitoes all day and night.

In spring, large cut peach blossoms decorate the entrance. Fresh orchids are also placed throughout the building, creating a gorgeous atmosphere. I've been here several times, but this was my first time staying in the West Wing. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and could be seen from my Japanese-style room. The room has two keys, which is convenient. The baths are in the main building, and I always start with the observation wine bath on the 7th floor. Personally, I prefer this wine bath over other wine baths. First of all, it doesn't have a strong scent. Many wine baths have a strong grape juice smell that permeates the changing room and even outside, but this wine bath doesn't have that smell; the water is delicious. According to the inn's pamphlet, "This is a wine bath, unique in Japan, with real wine extract added, and the quality of the water remains exquisite." Men can use the wine bath at night, but in our household, we have a rule of not bathing after drinking, so my wife has never tried this wine bath. The next morning, we went to the large public bath on the first floor. The open-air bath here has three tiers, divided into extremely hot spring water, a moderate temperature bath, and a gentle bath. The lukewarm water is so warm you can even soak up to your shoulders, making it very comfortable. The indoor bath was quite hot. Toners and other items are available in the washroom area. We had dinner in the large restaurant. They served a wide variety of dishes, all freshly made and fried. The dishes really made me feel like spring was here. The hoto was the best (I forgot to take a photo). The noodles were not too soft, and the miso flavor was just right. The rice was delicious, but I couldn't finish it all, and I regret ordering it. I've been here for breakfast several times, but this was my first time trying the buffet. It was a very good buffet, with dishes from Yamanashi Prefecture and the local area (Fuefuki City). I was happy to see that they had ramen (with Hoto hoto noodles), which I'd always wanted to try. I found the hoto noodles surprisingly complemented the ramen soup. They also had sea bream chazuke (rice with tea), Fujizakura pork sausages, Ashigawa Village konjac, and Takekawa rice, all of which were locally sourced. While I was a little disappointed that the coffee was UCC instant, I still drank two cups. After breakfast, I relaxed in the lobby lounge, watching the carp and admiring the garden. The carp here are popular with guests. It's surprising how many carp come when you feed them. This time, I came when the cherry blossoms and peach blossoms were in full bloom, walking along Sakura Onsen Street and enjoying the night cherry blossoms. I'm glad I stayed at this inn on Onsen Street. I also recommend seeing the old photos of Isawa Onsen beyond the lobby. This hot spring springs from a vineyard, and there are many photos of the idyllic blue-sky hot springs on display. After checking out and getting into the car, the landlady, who had been seeing off other guests, waved goodbye. I will definitely stay here again.
