The staff were friendly, the facility was clean, and I was very impressed with the facility.

The room was spacious and I had a comfortable stay.

On the other hand, the natural hot spring on the first floor was showing signs of age, and it felt a bit different to the impression I got from photos.

I also chose a plan that included breakfast, but the food was pre-set and cold, so it felt like I was eating a boxed lunch.

The facilities are very old, the room is quite large, and the sound insulation is not good

The place is old overall.
The bed mattress was soft and felt worn out.
The maintenance window in the unit bathroom had the bolts removed and was bent.
I think similar lodgings would be better maintained.

Japanese business partner company booked me and a Japanese engineer into the Danrokan twice in the 1980s. Spent half a 3 week trip and all a 2 week trip there. American breakfast was ok but Japanese Breakfast, in those days, had dried Salmon at least once every 3 days. Dried fish, vegies, rice, and a raw egg to crack into the rice. No matter which you ordered, you could get coffee. Silver pot, white-gloved server. Worked for me! I always gave the other engineer my egg. Heat and Air-conditioning both worked fine. All the wood in the room, including the doors, was the same, including the box the HVAC was in, table, moldings, desk and night stand. Very comfy, homey. It'll be a sad day when they "update" all that wood. I used my romanji dictionary and "Japanese for Busy People" grammar book to laboriously construct one-sentence questions but just looked confused when the response was a sentence. Counter person always went to get someone who spoke English. Not like Tokyo. But clean, and we worked too hard to even contemplate the hot spring.

I used this service because I was able to make a reservation through a certain member service site.
The service was very good, as I was able to easily change the plan over the phone and they suggested the best plan for me.
However, the parking space in front of the hotel (especially the north side) and the area from the first floor Rabbi to the cafe space simply smelled of cigarettes.
There is an entrance to a smoking area near the cafe space, and a terrible cigarette smell came from there, ruining the taste of the welcome cake that I had been looking forward to enjoying.
I was also very happy that the Chateraise ice cream was all-you-can-eat, but it was a little soft and the cone was soft and not crispy at all.
I chose a Japanese breakfast, but it was very filling and I was very satisfied. Some of the side dishes and main dishes were served buffet style, so I think it would be fine even if you can eat a lot in the morning.
If you want to stay at the Chateraise Hotel near the station, this is a good choice.

The staff were very conscious of the service industry and were very welcoming.
I also appreciated the free cake, drinks and ice cream.
However, I went there by motorbike and had trouble finding a parking space, as it seems the place isn't used very often.

The room is spacious, but the interior and furniture are old. The room is cleaned well, but it would be better to replace the wallpaper with new ones.

It had a nice historical atmosphere. The room was spacious and clean. I felt like I was in a luxurious place. However, the hot spring water was too hot for me to use, and the coffee in the room was instant and in a paper cup, which was a little disappointing.

Dirty, Old, Traditional.

Pillows are 1 inch thick and flat, bed is very very old box spring.

お風呂 was 0/10, call the health department fam. Mold build up + rusty metal inside of the water = no go.

There are stains and marks all over the walls throughout the hotel.

People who gave this place more than 1 star are grateful angels or fake accounts idk..

Avoid this place at all costs g, you can do better with the money that they charge for a stay.

Stopped in for lunch in the restaurant. Amazing service and food, the restaurant had a luxurious style and the staff were excellent

Service is impeccable at this hotel, every staff I encountered is absolutely friendly and willing to help. Hotel and rooms are a bit dated, however, well maintained. I am amazed how spotless my room is, kudos to the house keeping staff. There is men's and women's public bath on the first floor, with indoor and outdoor tubs although not very big. Breakfast is good, options including western or Japanese style. One downside is there is no coin laundry on the premise, and neither is there laundromat within walking distance. I ended up needing to use the laundry service which is ok in terms of price.

Stayed in the jr suite which is very spacious, extremely clean and quiet. It has a great mattress, nice furniture, and a huge bathroom,
Beautiful lobby, bar and restaurants.
Loved the Japanese breakfast and the spa.

There is something engaging about the décor. It is clearly a reformed old hot springs hotel, but smoothly blended with South East Asian. Naturally, hotels are more than interior design. So I'm happy to announce that even the western style rooms are spacious and clean, and that the hot springs bath are upgraded and ... hot. The water is mineral rich, with a hint of sulfur. Getting between the rooms and the bath is a little complex, but the journey is worth it. Rooms have individual WiFi networks. Breakfast is a little pricey, but luxurious.
