What a luxury it was to have stayed at this ryokan after a long day hiking in Kamikochi. The room was beautiful, with our own private onsen, a massage chair, very comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom with a walk in shower and even dyson hot tools...I was in heaven! The cherry on top was a delicious dinner and breakfast with amazing service. My husband and I did not want to leave! They were very helpful when trying figure out transportation for the next day too. Definitely try to stay here if you have the opportunity!

The hotel offer a traditional Japanese settings. It wasn’t crowded and we got to spend a really quality time here. Breakfast and dinner were served.

Everything is perfect at this small but cozy hotel. The room is neat and clean. The foot bath on the balcony is relaxing and you can listen to the sound of the brooks next to the hotel while enjoying the foot bath. Accommodation experience at this hotel makes our three days trip at Kamikochi wonderful and unforgettable.

This small inn offers the best food, wine, and hot springs♨️, and the service is wonderful. It's perfect for solo travelers, and I'd definitely recommend it as a place I'd like to visit again!

Fortunate to have stayed at Keiryu-so Shiorie as it was perfectly located near to the Sawando Bus terminal for easy access to Kamikochi. The taxi rank is right next to the ryokan so it was easy for us to grab a taxi to Kamikochi at 5 am to catch the sunrise and beat the crowd.
The ryokan is beautiful and the staff are all very accommodating and very guest-centric. There are only 8 rooms and each room was allowed a complimentary session at the private onsen every day, even though our room came with an attached outdoor bath as well. They also have separate baths for men and women for communal use.
The only downside is that the dinner menu was repeated, with the exception of the main course, on the second night of our stay.

We hired a car from Matsumoto especially to experience this authentic ryokan experience for one night. It was worth it. We had a hot spring outdoor bath with our room, and there is also further hot spring baths in the ryokan (a private one that can be reserved, then women/male separate public ones that become private after 11pm). From the service to the amenities to the exquisitely presented and delicious food, everything was wonderful. We were given traditional dress upon check-in to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. The staff were wonderful and the little gifts you are given add to charm of the place. Couldn’t recommend it enough. If you’re considering it, book it :)

Wow, it is one of the best ryokan I have stayed in Japan. A very luxurious, boutique and romantic accommodation. However, what stood out was the service and hospitality of the staffs.

A lovely ryokan! We stayed for Christmas and found the staff very friendly and welcoming. They gave us tips for some daytime activities (a hike to a frozen waterfall in Norikura National Park - we would recommend it!). It was a very relaxing place, the food was lovely, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It wasn't so busy, so we were able to use the outdoor and indoor onsen privately, too. Would recommend a room with a private bath for an extra enjoyable, traditional japanese experience!
