About two years ago, during a short business trip to Tokyo, I decided to spend a weekend visiting Numazu and instantly fell in love with the area.
My stay at Numazu Club was a big part of that impression, and it remains one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve had.

The property itself is registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
The historic buildings, traditional Japanese garden, wabi-sabi–style water basin, and carefully maintained greenery all create a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a hidden retreat away from the busy world.

The room was extremely relaxing. I especially loved the open-air bath, and sitting on the balcony while looking out over the lush greenery was wonderfully calming.

Both dinner and breakfast feature Japanese-style Chinese cuisine, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor.

Would definitely love to visit again!

Beautifully designed facility, calm, comfortable and relaxing. Enjoyed the setting, the sound of the sea, view of Fuji san from our room. Restaurant and wine list was pleasant surprise, the quality/value. Friendly, competent staff. Will visit again our travels. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Truly magical
Staying at Numazu Club was magical. It truly felt like a hidden gem. The stuff was very welcoming and made every wish possible. My financé proposed to me on the last night in the private dining room in the old tea house. It will be a place that will forever stay in our hearts. Thank you Numazu Club team for making this stay so special.

Truly authentic venue in the impressive set ups. While visiting, I could not help considering how traditional Japanese lived so close to the nature and how pragmatic they were as a minimalist .... a hidden gem! Thank you for your great hospitality too from the current generation of Japanese!

My husband and I stayed at Numazu Club Oct 2 - 3. We really enjoyed our stay in all respects. The architecture of the hotel and the hotel garden grounds were absolutely beautiful. The garden was a traditional Japanese garden perfect for taking a stroll. We also really enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant itself is located inside a historical Japanese tea house which being able to eat within was an experience onto itself. Also the food at the restaurant was a fusion of Japanese and Szechuan cuisine, which brought out the best of both cuisines. Finally, a shout out to the staff, especially general manager Imai-san, who really went out of their way to make our stay welcoming. Imai-san showed us a hidden path to the Senbonhama beach for awesome views of the ocean and Mt Fuji. Also after dinner our waiter kindly gave us a tour of the traditional Japanese tea house that the restaurant sits in. On a last note, our room was also really great. We stayed in a western style room on the second floor. The room was spacious and design was a mix of Japanese and western style with a large balcony overlooking the hotel grounds. Also the room itself was very well maintained and contained a full set of qualities amenities.

Our first trip to Japan brought us to Numazu Club, and it quickly became the highlight of our journey. Nestled between Tokyo and Kyoto, we were seeking a peaceful retreat, and Numazu delivered far beyond our expectations. Perhaps it was the contrast to the bustling cities or the fact that Numazu felt wonderfully authentic, with hardly any tourists in sight, but this hotel experience was truly unforgettable for my husband and me.

The hotel itself is exquisite—beautiful architecture, elegant interiors, and serene gardens. The rooms were equally impressive. What stood out the most, though, was the exceptional staff. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel completely at home, with the manager setting a standard of excellence that is hard to find.

The dining experience was equally superb. The breakfasts, whether Chinese or Japanese, were a feast for the senses—perfectly presented and full of flavor. Enjoying these meals in the historic ryokan setting made it all the more special.

I cannot thank the staff enough. Memories are the most precious souvenirs we take with us, and Numazu Club gave us some of the best we’ve ever made. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Style. Designed by Akira Watanabe 2008 Setting. Calm and serene spot yet only one block from the beach and short walk to the port. With beautiful views of Fuji Explore. Boat rides. Fresh seafood restaurants and lively markets. Deep sea aquarium. Rooms. Only 8 rooms. Was in lovely corner unit upstairs. A sanctuary with indoors and outdoors space. Bathroom looks recently renovated and connects to the outdoor onsen on my deck @ the hotel. The hotel is quiet, intimate, and in a nice residential neighborhood. Woke up early to perfect weather and strolled along the coast. Beautiful gardens with pine trees that I fell in love with immediately. Spa with saunas, indoor outdoor cold and hot baths filled with Fuji mountain ground water. Meals served in the fabulous Meiji-era tea house with attentive service Food & drinks. Excellent Chinese Japanese Italian fusion. Delicious meal with local ingredients supervised by chef Hirofumi Saito from Ichirin Hanare Prices. $1161 half board including alcohol (week days much cheaper) Rating. 5/5 wonderful staff and experience.

A perfect place to slow down for a few days. The rooms are well appointed, everything looks and feels brand new. Outside of each room is a private soaking tub and shower. The grounds are beautifully manicured and tremendously peaceful. They also have spa with dry and steam saunas, cold plunge and hot tubs. The restaurant is amazing with traditional Japanese and Chinese meals. The staff is lovely and very attentive.

This is my first visit since the owner changed last year. The only restaurant has been transformed into a stylish Chinese restaurant. You can eat this kind of thing in Tokyo. I'd rather have sashimi of fish from Numazu Port. Chinese food for breakfast... a bit... weird.
