Seizan Yamato in Ito

The hotel facilities are excellent and the service is great. The location is a bit out of the way, and the shuttle bus schedule is quite limited. Also, the nightly menu rotation is rather uninspired. I'd recommend staying one night, but not multiple days in a row.

Everything is great, onsens are nice, food is delicious and plenty. Staff is very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Room is beautiful.

Our first experience staying at a traditional hotel was a success! The room with its own outdoor hot spring exceeded expectations. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and varied. The staff was polite and friendly.

We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability.) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range.

One thing to note is that the hotel is located halfway up a hill, so I don't recommend walking there if you have large luggage. You can contact the hotel in advance to inquire about shuttle bus options or take a taxi from Ito Station. If you absolutely must walk, do not follow Google Maps' route from Minami-Ito Station, as this path involves climbing stairs and going over a hill.

Although there were multiple communications with the hotel regarding dining arrangements due to an issue with the intermediary agent, the overall performance of the hotel was truly delightful. From the station pick-up to the front desk, and from the hot springs to breakfast and dinner, everything was professional and thoughtful. If you want to experience an authentic Japanese feel, this is undoubtedly the best choice in Ito. If I return to Ito, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

This is a very traditional Japanese hotel, and we experienced authentic Japanese service. We chose the breakfast and dinner plan, and the Japanese service was incredibly thoughtful. The hot spring bath on the sixth floor was absolutely amazing, and we even got to try out some cosplay, haha! Since the hotel is located on a mountain, they also offer a shuttle service to and from the station, which is a really nice touch.

The food was quite good, although breakfast was a bit salty, but overall it was still very nice. The room was clean and spacious, and the private onsen was excellent. The hotel's various services were also very thoughtful. Highly recommended!

Excellent! Dinner was incredibly delicious; every dish was impeccable! Breakfast was also very rich, making me feel guilty every day, and I'd just skip lunch. The hotel's hot spring facilities are also fantastic; if I had more time, I'd definitely go once in the morning and once in the evening. There's a shuttle bus for transfers, so getting around is very convenient. Next time I visit, I'll definitely stay here again!

Overall, my experience was excellent. I checked in a bit late and missed the matcha-making session, but thankfully, there were still two types of matcha available for breakfast. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were superb, and the staff diligently and patiently explained each dish in English. The public bath was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing soak. The only minor drawback was a slight odor in the hallway, which I hope they can improve.
