Fukuzumiro in Hakone

I didn't realize that dinner would be a kaiseki meal, including sashimi and other raw seafood, and I didn't tell the restaurant in advance that I didn't want seafood, so I was in a bit of a pickle. However, the restaurant kindly changed my plan. I was glad that someone helped me with my suitcase when I checked in and when I checked out. The service was close to perfect.

However, as it's a century-old building, there are bound to be some issues. For example, the wooden walkway along the river that passes through the sleeping bath is a little dangerous (it shakes when you step on it), the rooms are a little moldy, and there are no toilets in the private rooms other than Sakura.

Well, it's a hotel in Hakone, so I guess it's understandable that the room rate is high and there are some inconveniences.

The service is very good. I would like to stay a few more days. The environment is very good

This is our favorite hotel during our 10-day trip to Japan. It is like a journey through time and space. The service provided by the hostess is refreshing and unforgettable!

This is an old hotel that started in 1890. It feels like living in history. The reception staff is very warm and thoughtful. There are 6 hot springs that I really like. The dinner is also very exquisite.

The location is in Tonosawa, at the intersection of the bridge. Overall, it is still ideal. The service is very good. Although the food is not the best, the single-order drinks are not expensive. It is very artistic on rainy days. The toilet is outside the room, but it does not affect the use. The family bath can be reserved. It is not outdoor. Try not to bring large luggage.

Staying in the Meiyi room, you can see the gurgling spring water and green trees outside the window, which is very comfortable! The wooden Japanese-style building is exquisite and elegant, and the private bath is very classic and private. The food is also very good, exquisite and delicate, and the ingredients are fresh. I especially like their rice, which is shiny and tastes very good.
After getting off the JR Hakone Yumoto Station, there were many people waiting for the taxi. I was in a hurry to check in, so I walked with the navigation. As a result, the route provided by the navigation was wrong, so we walked a short distance on the mountain road. In fact, after getting off the JR, there was a bus downstairs in the opposite direction of the stairs where we took the taxi, which was very convenient. However, the store owner was very enthusiastic to greet us on the mountain trail, and we also enjoyed the mountain scenery and breathed the fresh air in the forest.

This is the second time I stay at this hotel. Last time experience was excellent but 10years ago. But this time our room has bee arranged next to the toilet and no room view.

First of all, I have to praise the Japanese-style detailed service. The wheels of the suitcase were cleaned and each facility and room function was introduced in detail. A total of 68,000yan for 1 hotel room and 2 meals.
It is worth mentioning that the room is very cold in the middle of the night after rain and snow, so the oven and air conditioner in the room need to be turned up to maximum. Otherwise you will wake up from the cold
Secondly, the steps of Kaiseki cuisine are quite satisfactory, but the chopsticks 🥢 are actually disposable chopsticks from a roadside stall.
The smoking room is simply a welfare for smokers
The antique style attracts foreigners, so it’s good to experience a traditional Japanese store once.
