Great view in big bath onsen with panorama on Takayama town. I would recommend this place if you looking for fully relax on your vacation.
Amazing onsen. Room is big. The location is far but we drive so it’s not a problem.
Very tastful and comprehensive onsen facilities. Panoramic view of takayama
An excellent resort hotel: free parking, nice onsen, spacious room, professional staff, room with terrific scene and free shuttle to and from train station. Enjoy the stay very much.
Best hotel in this trip! Lots of parking space, spacious room and very nice restaurants. We had beef dinner there, my son was enjoyed every minute and said it was his best experience of food. Onsen is nice but no free ice cream , which a little big down part, but totally alright. 5 minutes away is a local museum and bug museum, if you are there, worth a couple hours there.
This hotel has a beautiful view from the room and has a lot of parking. It has onsen inside the building.

The room was very clean and tidy. All the staff was polite and very helpful. Good location, near to the station. The buffet breakfast was delicious with great variety. Will come again.
The rooms are quite spacious, and the hot springs are very comfortable, with one on the 9th floor and one on B1. The open-air jacuzzi on the rooftop is incredibly relaxing, especially soaking in it during winter – it's fantastic! The service is also excellent. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit.
Excellent location with lots of good restaurants around. Booked the Japanese & Western style room with private bath. Having a living room with tatami matts & sitting furniture was a nice touch. The bath is excellent with proper dressing room. Will definitely recommend this hotel and looking forward to my next visit!
Luxury Experience at this hotel, the amenities are simply wonderful
Roof Top Onsen was really relaxing
Check in very convenient when we arrived about 8pm, the staff are very friendly, helpful and speaking English. Takayama Bus Center and JR Takayama station only 5 minutes walk. Check some day tour that available from Takayama Bus Center which is very easy to join. Many restaurants nearby and souvenir shops at the main street. Big room and more than enough space to put our 2 big luggage. A bit unstable...

Location is just opposite to the JR takayama station, with 10 minutes walking distance to major attractions such as Miyagawa river. Room is clean, spacious, comfortable. Staff is very polite, friendly, helpful. Soundproofing could be improved. Noise from other guests opening their doors sometimes sounded as if our own door was being opened. Quite scary if you are alone.
This hotel is located right across the street from JR Takayama Station, which is super convenient! They have coin-operated self-service laundry machines, and the view from the window is beautiful. The beds are comfortable, making it a worthwhile stay.
The location is very close to Takayama Station. The first thing I didn’t know before staying at this hotel (or at other hotels in Takayama) is that there is a 200-yen accommodation tax and paid this tax in the hotel before check-in (The staff said it is Takayama city’s accommodation tax). For my impression of this hotel, it’s located very and very close to Takayama station (in front of the station...
good hotel in front of shinkansen and main station. in front of bus station too.
Good value for money (you pay what you get), nice easy location close to many shops. Carpark in hotel inside is convenient. For fuss free staying, can be recommended. A one hour drive to the ropeway sight.
Very good location , just in front of the train and Nohi bus Center. I love the good services, very friendly staff. Nice breakfast and environment. Relax and enjoy my time 3 days here.
The public bath was quite big.

Very interesting hotel with much freebies and activities!
Food and hot tub/hot spring experience was the highlight. Wish the dinner could have bigger portions though.
Location is good. Staff are helpful. Room is clean. Food quality is good. If onsen can be larger with better landscape would be great!
Very wonderful onsen hotel. Great location with cooling weather. Very close to kamikochi, good for those hiking lovers
Miyama Ouan offers a serene retreat in the Japanese Alps. Guests praise its clean, spacious rooms and exceptional onsen facilities, including private baths. The traditional meals are beautifully presented and delicious. Friendly staff and complimentary amenities like free ramen and drinks enhance the experience, making it a memorable stay.

The hotel's location is super convenient, and the breakfast is plentiful. The onsen bath, plus free nightly ramen and ice cream, are definitely a big bonus!
The hotel service was good, and the location was excellent, but the facilities are too old. I wouldn't recommend it. I walked past the nearby Tokyu Hotel, and it seemed to have newer facilities and was more convenient to the JR station.
Super convenience location, walkable distance from JR. This town is really suitable for running.
Very nice place to stay and feel Japanese style room. I like fee ramen and ice cream the most!
Great location, and the rooms were very clean. I loved the Japanese-style decor! I highly recommend the private onsen; if you go early, you won't have to worry about queues.
Close to bus station, self check in/ check out, free ramen at night. Onsen was a bit confusing as a first timer as the shower is inside the onsen area and not in the changing area. Did not bother to wait for the private onsen as many couples were queuing in the public area already. Free popsicles on the way out from onsen.

A really comfortable hotel room in Takayama. The room is big and clean. The bed is really comfortable. It’s a short walk from Takayama Station and the old town making it a great location. The hotel was excellent, truly wonderful. The room size was decent, and the breakfast was quite good. Everything was great.
Even if the 2 front receptionist are Dinaussaurs (or Dragons?) There is a person to help out on case the automátic machine is confusing. Next to the station, a Mac Donald’s and a convenience store.
The room was a bit small, suitable for one person. It's very close to Takayama Station, and there's a McDonald's not far downstairs. Overall, it was decent, but perhaps due to the peak season for hiking in Kamikochi, the price was quite high, so the value for money wasn't great.
Attended by a senior staff who could speak zero English. Need to use app to translate which was frustrating. Finally a younger staff who could speak English came to assist. Booked wrongly for 1 person instead of 2 persons. In the end had to pay additional 100% the amount which I already paid. The charges were ridiculous! The best Japanese hotel I've ever stayed in. The service was excellent. Service is incredibly considerate, foods are delicate. Before we set off, the hotel would send a enquiry email to understand our needs, and they offer the pick up service if they are available.
The best ryokan experience I’ve ever had. The service was truly top-end, with warm, attentive, and professional staff who made the stay feel special from start to finish. The room was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable, the food was exceptional, and the onsen was peaceful and perfectly maintained. Great personal service. Onsen in the hotel and also can try the one next door at Bekkan. Friendly and attentive staff always ready to help at the door. Free shuttle service to train station or bus station. Short walk to the old town and there's a nicely decorated street on the left near Le Midi.
November 25, 2025 This was the most expensive and luxurious hotel I've ever stayed at. I was assigned to a 'Jing Suite' in the 'Kou Chu Jing' series. Beautiful hotel with wonderful service. The onsens were well cared for and we had them to ourselves. The views of the mountains and river from the onsen were spectacular. The food was great and transitional to Japan. We loved our the stay in the traditional Ryokan. Probably our best stay of the trip.
The assigned room was not the one I booked. Instead of East Wing with a mountain view, I got assigned to South Wing, not sure if it is a mountain view but definitely not what I expected (I will attach a photo). After getting off at the H57 stop of the Nohi Bus Shinhotaka Line, hotel staff were already waiting at the station to help with luggage. The hotel has a long history, with a Western-style building. Considering we had a child with us, we looked for a hotel close to the mountaintop cable car. When we arrived, there was a heavy snowstorm in the mountains, so the drive took about an hour and a half, but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were friendly and many spoke English. The Japanese set meal for breakfast was delicious. There were also free-flow drinks in the evening.
The room was great – clean, neat, and well-designed. There's a small hot spring that looks nice, though I didn't get a chance to use it. The biggest plus was the evening happy hour with free-flowing sake, beer, and other drinks. The lobby atmosphere was also good, making it a very chill spot in a town without much nightlife. All the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!
The breakfast was delicious and varied; it's a set meal, but quite filling. The room was clean. It's close to the Red Bridge and there's a Family Mart right next to the hotel, this branch even sells baked sweet potatoes. The staff provided good service, but their English wasn't very fluent.

I stayed for a night. The hot spring and breakfast were my highlights during the stay. The room door doesn't lock automatically so I had to lock it up with a key by myself. It was a bit of a hassle but overall good.
This time we are traveling by car, so it is very convenient to stay in the mountains. The hotel provides free parking spaces and a large parking lot, so there is no need to worry about not having parking spaces. The hotel hot spring is not big, but few people use it.
There is a shuttle bus from the west exit of Takayama Station to the hotel, which takes 7-10 minutes. It is very convenient. The hotel hot spring is great.
The location is at the top of a mountain, suitable for self-driving travelers, but there are many tour groups, and there are no restaurant options nearby. The room has a beautiful view and is comfortable, but do not choose the smoking floor. It is extremely smelly.

The third time staying in this hotel over the past 5 years. Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. This accommodation is really great! The shared onsen allows you to wear the provided cloth, which is perfect for shy people. However, some bathers do walk around naked briefly. The only downside is that not all bus lines pass by, so you have to check the routes carefully.
Hotel room was clean and spacious, had everything that we needed for the night. Room was a little warm and stuffy. Hotel staff service was good, even with the presence of a language barrier. Breakfast and dinner were honestly subpar, don't expect a whole buffet for you. Dinner felt like it was reheated. Breakfast was underwhelming. Onsen was nice and spacious.
