Views from this hotel of mountains are beautiful. If you need cash in Japan, you must got to the post office. Stayed in Japanese style room, would recommend the experience. They do have Western style rooms

This hotel is a 10-minute walk from the west exit of Takayama Station. If you have luggage, you can take the hotel's shuttle bus, which is very convenient for both trains and the Nohi bus

We visited the Shinhotaka Ropeway and Shirakawa-go, and it was great to return to the hotel and relax in the hot springs. Compared to the onsen hotels in Gero, this hotel is more modern, and the breakfast is better

I booked the Takayama Green Hotel, and for a standard price, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a hot spring hotel! I could enjoy a very relaxing soak

The hotel service was also excellent, and they even gave us discount coupons for the neighboring product hall

The onsen was especially satisfying, with both indoor and outdoor pools that were comfortable, spacious, and beautifully designed, melting away the fatigue of a day of sightseeing

That's it! It's 12m sq but super cheap so if u want a clean space to sleep in between your touring and keen to save cash, then this place is for you. We would stay here again for the price and location

Location is good, just opposiite JR Takayama & Nohi bus centre. The hotel is pretty old, still using key to access the room

I know some people are leaving bad reviews on this hotel, but i would say you'll get what you paid for. This hotel is budget hotel, and i'm satisfied with the 1 night stay

You're required to leave your key at the reception whenever you leave the room and need to collect it when you're back. No coffee provided in the room

The location of the hotel is so convenient as it is just infront of the Nohi Bus Centre and the Takayama Train Station. I has ramen every night as shops are near the hotel

enjoyed our stay in takayama ouan with my family! the rooms are spacious for japan standards and i like how the hotel is full tatami so we can comfortably walk around barefoot or with just socks! free socks provided and unlimited pillows

extraordinary onsen experience. very nice and friendly staff. have to wear socks/ bare foot inside the hotel, giving a vibe of coming back home. hotel room isn’t too big but still acceptable.

Close to bus station, self check in/ check out, free ramen at night. Onsen was a bit confusing as a first timer as the shower is inside the onsen area and not in the changing area

the open air bath was great and there’s sauna and cold bath too. free ramen at night was delicious, breakfast was great too. won’t hesitate to book this hotel again next time!

Great location, and the rooms were very clean. I loved the Japanese-style decor! I highly recommend the private onsen; if you go early, you won't have to worry about queues.

While other properties are looking for ways to cut corners, this one is making constant improvements, earning them their high ranking and making it our 'go-to' choice in this region! We highly recommend this hotel for business trips and individual, couple & family getaways, and will absolutely return the next chance we get!

However, the hotel room is very clean, big and beautiful. Hotel staffs r friendly helpful and we have a smooth communication as all of them can speak English

Nice hotel with onsen facilities. Can access by foot to the main attractions althoyught is not right in the center. Room size is good and comfortable.

Beyond being a bit of a walk from the bus station, everything else was excellent! It's clean and tidy, and the hot springs are wonderfully relaxing. The triple room is perfect for families with kids! Highly recommended.

The room was clean, and everything felt so miniature and cute. The price was decent for a single room. I went to the open-air private bath, which was very relaxing~ They even had ice cream! The staff were very friendly

The room is good and clean just right for a solo traveler. The bed is okay (some might find it kind of hard), the only thing that bothered me is the pillow, it’s hard so it is difficult to sleep

The Reception staff are very polite and very kind and willing to help when i asked about information for staying here and city information and they can speak English very well also

The location is very convenient just right in front of the train and bus station. There’s a large public bath on the 2nd floor, the amenities are all good and you can also borrow a hair straightener while staying

This Hotel is located just opposite of the Takayama JR Train Station it’s very good location to travel around thec city of Takayama and close to convenience store FamilyMart

The hotel is at the another side of train station , around 15mins walk to the main shopping street , unexpectedly there is hot stone bath available in the hotel, got free massage chair for to use, room is clean , staffs are friendly

Quite okay for all aspects. What stands out is they’re giving so many free things. Massage chairs in the lobby, happy hour (drink) in the evening, free curry rice for dinner, and amenities are very complete.

Even if the 2 front receptionist are Dinaussaurs (or Dragons?) There is a person to help out on case the automátic machine is confusing. Next to the station, a Mac Donald’s and a convenience store.

The semi-double room was slightly small, it was hard to walk in the room with our luggages laid out. The bed was clean and comfortable. The toilet was also clean and has hot water

Toothbrushes, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, towels are provided. There is a free happy hour drink. There are serum, lotion, face cleanser provided in the lobby

There was a wardrobe and pajamas, which you could use for hot springs. The room was very clean, and toiletries like toothbrushes could be picked up in the lobby, where you could also choose your preferred pillow

This hotel is basically central to everything. Rooms are unbelievably clean. Excellent value to money.

This is the best value hotel I've ever stayed at. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the JR station – just turn right, walk straight, cross the street at the traffic light, and keep going straight

The front desk staff were incredibly warm and polite; check-in was super quick. They even bowed at the elevator until the doors closed. The room was a bit more spacious than typical single rooms and well-equipped

The room was actually warm enough even without the heater on; I turned it on the first night and woke up feeling too hot, so I didn't use it on subsequent nights. Breakfast was surprisingly varied and delicious

If you're visiting in winter, I highly recommend this place – Shirakawa-go (Gassho-zukuri village) in the snow is absolutely beautiful. All in all, this is the most cost-effective hotel I've ever experienced

The breakfast offered a good variety of choices in a quiet setting. A notable amenity is the complimentary access to the mist sauna and jacuzzi, which we enjoyed very much

Hotel is located very near the train station and bus terminal. Takayama is a small town and accessible by foot. The old town and places of interest are within walking distance from the hotel.

Less than a 5-minute walk from the train and bus stations. Be aware that the hotel sign displays the English name, not the Chinese name as translated on the booking. The room was clean and well-equipped, just as expected

It had two super single beds and an L-shaped couch, with plenty of space to open my suitcase easily. The bathroom was also larger than those in my previous hotels, with a full-size bathtub which made it very comfortable

A very comfortable hotel, it is about a 10-minute walk to the old JR station, Takayama Old Street and Miyagawa Morning Market. I was very happy to be able to see the taro flowers in Miyagawa in late April.

The staff were very friendly and helped us with our luggage to our room. The toilet and bathroom were separate, and most importantly, there were double sinks, which is great for groups

It was close to the city, the streets were beautiful and lively, and the food was delicious⭐️

Its 10 mins away from train station and bus station. If you want to see the old village Shirakawa it would be very handy for you cause it. s 40 mins bus away from takayama. Takayama is a lovely town too

But most importantly, we could feel the smell coming from the kitchen eventhough the windows were closed. This was the case in the evening, and was especially prominent before breakfast time with the smell of bacon

Friendly staff, nice room, great amenities provided, laundry (self-service machine) is provided as well. There is also a cozy cafe with nice food and coffee located right under the hotel.

First, it is very down-to-earth, second, I like the simplicity of the hotel, third, the owner is very nice, and finally, it is very close to Hida no Sato (Folk Village), just a few minutes walk away

The traditional dinner is a must, good value for the amount of food. Not a lot of restaurants around the hotel but only approx 20-30 minute walk to city centre (or short taxi ride away)

This Ryokan is set out of town in a nice quiet area. Easy walk to the teddy bear museum, a cat Sanctuary that you can visit and the Hida Folk Village

The staff is lovely, the cleanliness is impeccable, the place is beautiful, and the onsen they have is wonderful after days of hiking. It also comes with a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast

There's an area where you can help yourself to coffee and tea upon request, part of it is tatami-covered, with views of the garden, and it exudes a sense of tranquility

I chose the best room on the top floor and was not disappointed; while simple it offered all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was ok for the type of hotel, and the staff was very kind and helpful

It is not a Ryokan, but it is close to a home stay as you can get. Walking distance to the train station is about 5 minutes. Very quiet, friendly and clean. Very modern and an Onsen that you can book for yourself

The room did not have an ensuite with the toilet and shower being on the opposite side of the Temple to our room

Being winter the nights and early mornings were cold with the cold coming up through the floor and into the futons which is why electric blankets are provided. The room also had 2 floor mounted heaters and an A/C unit

Wonderful experience to stay in a temple hotel. Events, such as, prayers and meditation available in the temple for guests. Central location and walking distance to shops, restaurants and places of interest

Guests have 24hr access to the temple. The shared spaces and facilities are modern, comfortable and clean. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is also a really short and easy walk from the old town

Staying at Zenkoji Temple Hotel is an interesting and unique experience. The hotel offers lots of activities at an additional (really reasonable) cost, like guided meditation and rice ball making

  We stayed in the Moon Room which was spacious and lovely but would get very cold without keeping the heater on. But we were provided with heated futons so managed to stay comfortable

They checked times of restaurants and such since they may have been different because of COVID and the holiday season. The room was a nice size and very clean. Came with all the amenities you expect

Excellent apartment in the heart of Takayama. It is an easy 5 minute walk with luggage from the train station. Quick and easy to reserve with excellent communication throughout the booking process

Very friendly and helpful staff! They were incredibly kind and gave us lots of good information about the hotel and town (in very good English). They had lots of recommendations and even offered to set up reservations

Also a spa was available to rent for free! You could use it privately for 45 minutes which was very relaxing. My only complaint is that the beds and pillows were extremely firm

But the massage chair in the room helped with any tense muscles afterwards. Overall would recommend this stay for a good room, good price, great location, and great staff!

Conviniently located. 8min walk to Takayama station. Bath system is a bit complicated. Great breakfast. Feel like staying in a grandma's house. Cozy but some conviniencei that bath, dining, restrooms are at downstairs.

The door lock is pretty much decoration since you can easily shake the wooden door and if your hands/arms are thin you can reach in there and open the door(more like a fense). Very quiet surounding in the night

Very traditional japanese ryokan. They serve awsome breakfast in the morning. Please be a early bird and give it a try. The manager lady is very repectful

Recommended for 2 travelers, but not rexommended for 3 since they have fairly small room(tatami), they have fairly small pillow, perfect for me but coud be too small for others

So if you expect a good night sleep on a tatami and a very very good well made japanese style morning meal, I highly recommend this place

There was a bunk bed and a single bed, sleeping three people. It had an en-suite bathroom, an iron, and complete kitchen equipment including a rice cooker, frying pan, microwave, and refrigerator

Close to the station. Calm place with lots of room (we were only two people). You get send codes for the two doors, which is really nice instead of having to deal with keys or keycards. Beds were comfy as well.

I couldn't hear voices from the next room, but I could hear doors opening and closing and voices in the hallway, so I was concerned when people from other rooms left early in the morning

Ggreat guest house. big, beautiful in traditional Japanese style. Big kitchen with all the necessary utensils, there is also a table outside for those who like to drink tea outside. Lots of free space and a quiet area.

Absolutely perfect stay. It was clean, quiet, and had everything one could need. And the beds! I haven't slept that well in ages! The front desk staff were also kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

Location is not far from Morning market and interested place. In this house, there is Living room which room rentals can enjoy with other members. There is free parking serve.

I really loved my stay here! It has an amazing view of the mountains and they were so nice, even gave me a free ride to the Kanazawa Station. I’ll definitely come back!

The K's House Takayama is easy to find and only about a five minute walk from Takayama Station. The staff are very friendly and speak great English. The main common area is very nice, and fully featured

However, the room has very little room to store luggage. The hostel is in a great location; about walking distance to all major attractions. The hostel has free WiFi available in all areas, including the rooms

So I would definitely recommend this hostel, not only because of it's great location but also because of its amenities. Also, we happened to be there on one of the nights where the staff offered free dinner

The staff was super kind and helpful and the place has a community/traveler vibe. There is a shared living room, dining room and kitchen where you can have a cup of tea and chat with others
