Takayama, 2-60 Hanaoka-cho (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The room was very clean and tidy. All the staff was polite and very helpful. Good location, near to the station. The buffet breakfast was delicious with great variety. Will come again.
The rooms are quite spacious, and the hot springs are very comfortable, with one on the 9th floor and one on B1. The open-air jacuzzi on the rooftop is incredibly relaxing, especially soaking in it during winter – it's fantastic! The service is also excellent. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit.
The location is good and sightseeing is within walking distance. The hotel is old but clean, and there are two large public baths, including the rooftop tub bath, which was very pleasant.
I took advantage of the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of food and was all delicious. The service was also very polite. Thank you very much.
Excellent location with lots of good restaurants around. Booked the Japanese & Western style room with private bath. Having a living room with tatami matts & sitting furniture was a nice touch. The bath is excellent with proper dressing room. Will definitely recommend this hotel and looking forward to my next visit!
What a huge and beautiful hotel! The rooms are spacious and fully equipped. The onsen (hot spring) includes a Japanese-style bath, an open-air bath, and an additional tub-style onsen level. The open-air bath is beautiful with stunning scenery. The only drawback is that the hotel rooms were slightly uncleaned, but it was acceptable. Also, I would appreciate it if the onsen facilities included massage...

My fam members n i felt very grateful with the location of the hotel n just opposite the JR Takayama station
Location is good, just opposiite JR Takayama & Nohi bus centre. The hotel is pretty old, still using key to access the room. You're required to leave your key at the reception whenever you leave the room and need to collect it when you're back. No coffee provided in the room. Upon check out, the front desk (a guy) said the hotel is unable to help me keep my luggage, which is pretty bad as i need to...
Was nice and the bath was súper good. Also the place has it’s own free onsen and only 3 minutes from the hotel there is a onsen with 16+ different pools. I would recommend to get the reservation for the dinner since there are just a few options in the town.
The hotel is very easy to find, it nears the Takayama Sta. Staff is very helpful.
The hotel is close to Takayama Bus Station, and the breakfast is great too.
Bus station is just nearby to bring us to Shingawago. Breakfast is excellent, will choose this hotel if we come back

The hotel is conveniently located right across the street from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Terminal. After checking out, I was able to store my luggage, which was really helpful since my bus wasn't until almost noon.
This Hotel is located just opposite of the Takayama JR Train Station it’s very good location to travel around thec city of Takayama and close to convenience store FamilyMart. The Reception staff are very polite and very kind and willing to help when i asked about information for staying here and city information and they can speak English very well also. This time i have a good experience here in Takayama...
The location is great, just a few walk from Nohi bus station and JR station. Also a walking distance to all attractions. Free onsen and the staff was very polite and friendly.
The location is very convenient just right in front of the train and bus station. There’s a large public bath on the 2nd floor, the amenities are all good and you can also borrow a hair straightener while staying. The room is good and clean just right for a solo traveler. The bed is okay (some might find it kind of hard), the only thing that bothered me is the pillow, it’s hard so it is difficult to...
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing.
I would especially like to appreciate one of the Nepali staff members, Ms. Gurung. She was extremely polite, professional, and always ready to help with a warm smile.
We booked two rooms. The single room was a bit too small for three people, so two rooms were just right. The hotel thoughtfully arranged two adjacent rooms at the end of the hallway, which was convenient for us to visit each other. There's a bathtub, and it wasn't crowded, which was very relaxing. I wasn't really used to the breakfast; it was a Japanese-style breakfast with rice, which I found a bit...

The semi-double room was slightly small, it was hard to walk in the room with our luggages laid out. The bed was clean and comfortable. The toilet was also clean and has hot water. Toothbrushes, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, towels are provided. There is a free happy hour drink. There are serum, lotion, face cleanser provided in the lobby. Was an enjoyable stay and Takayama is a quiet city to...
The hotel is at the another side of train station , around 15mins walk to the main shopping street , unexpectedly there is hot stone bath available in the hotel, got free massage chair for to use, room is clean , staffs are friendly
Hotel is far from train station 700-800 meter. Breakfast is good food.
The hotel room was very comfortable and clean, with tatami mats. We stayed in a triple room, and there was plenty of space. The shower was great, and the location was super convenient, right next to McDonald's near Takayama Station.
Very near the JR station and can walk to other sightseeing spots in Takayama. The room is quite spacious and clean.
A decent hotel in Takayama. It's suitable for a one-night stopover. Parking is a bit expensive, but you can use the nearby public parking lot. Plenty of food and shopping options around. Cleanliness is okay.

Alright place, can only praise the free parking and probably the "cheapest" in this touristy area. Otherwise the onsen is pretty dirty (mouldy) and no free breakfast.
I stayed for a night. The hot spring and breakfast were my highlights during the stay. The room door doesn't lock automatically so I had to lock it up with a key by myself. It was a bit of a hassle but overall good.
This time we are traveling by car, so it is very convenient to stay in the mountains. The hotel provides free parking spaces and a large parking lot, so there is no need to worry about not having parking spaces. The hotel hot spring is not big, but few people use it.
There is a shuttle bus from the west exit of Takayama Station to the hotel, which takes 7-10 minutes. It is very convenient. The hotel hot spring is great.
The location is at the top of a mountain, suitable for self-driving travelers, but there are many tour groups, and there are no restaurant options nearby. The room has a beautiful view and is comfortable, but do not choose the smoking floor. It is extremely smelly.
Nice hotel with onsen. View from my room is great. Complimentary shutter to JR station

This is the best value hotel I've ever stayed at. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the JR station – just turn right, walk straight, cross the street at the traffic light, and keep going straight. Excellent service. Staff were friendly and helpful. Short walk to the train station. Enjoyed their onsen.
Loved the onsen! Location is also wonderful. Room is not amazing but you wouldn’t be spending time in it anyway - spend more time outside and in the onsen!
Clean room Gorgious view and Nice location not far from Jr station.

The hotel overall is really good, with a very 'Japanese' feel. It's perfect for travelers who have a car. The only slight drawback is that the room is a bit small 😃
The hotel looks very traditional outside but it is renovated to contemporary style inside. Rooms are bit small in size but ok for a night stay. There is a convenience store just opposite which works 24 hrs. So you can get anything you need .
Very welcoming. Location a bit far from downtown although a shuttle was available during the day.
The hotel is far from central area of Takayama. If you are going for ski it’s good to stay there. No restaurants around. Staffs were so good. And rooms are also clean.
If you ignore the location rests are good. You can have the welcome drink from 5 pm to 7pm. It would be good if we can have it while checking in. So we couldn’t have it. We can have complementary ramen or like. Dessert after 8 pm.
The hotel is good, but it might be a bit far from the city center, so having a car is a must. The service is great, and there's free parking. The staff are very helpful. In the evenings, they offer free beer, and you can also choose between free ramen or ice cream.
Room is small, typical Japan budget hotel. They only got 2 floors with no elevator, so we’re lucky that our room in first floor. Didn’t manage to try their free supper but they do have free supper.
Location is not close to train station buy they have shuttle which goes from and to hotel quite often.
There’s one family mart across the hotel which is quite helpful because there’s no other restaurant...

Excellent! Very thoughtful, the room was large, comfortable, and clean. They proactively arranged pick-up and drop-off for both nights, taking us to the area near the station and old town. I was surprised that breakfast and dinner were different on both nights. The stairs next to the entrance lead down to the old town, and they even had ropes to help you down to prevent falls – so considerate!
Never had so satisfying hotel stay for business or holiday. This hotel want to make you don't even go out from hotel, just enjoy the calm and, silent private onsen in room plus the carefully curated breakfast and dinner Kaiseki type experiences.
The food was great and quite varied, and the wagyu beef was delicious. The private onsen was excellent.
An amazing hotel in Takayama, and the hot springs are incredibly relaxing! The location is halfway up the mountain, so if you're traveling on foot, be prepared for a bit of a workout. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the meals are also delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive. This is a hotel I'd definitely want to visit again! 🥰
The third time staying in this hotel over the past 5 years. Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. Routinized Japanese Haute cuisine with no surprise, four small pieces of signature Hida wagyu could only be seen as a decoration. Yet the price was relatively high with over five hundred US dollars...

Enjoyed the spacious room - not typical in Japan. The spa and setting were great. The traditional breakfast was a treat.
Incredible visit…. we didn’t know
Stay was good, very little options for dinner. We went up during the off season so I’m not sure what to expect during peak times. Staff very friendly.
Stayed in this hotel for two nights. The room was comfortable.
Although the breakfast set is good, the croissant is delicious 😋
The dinners were good for both nights, but the hot springs were a bit small.
I couldn't see the surrounding environment because it snowed heavily during the two days I stayed there.
There is only a thick layer of snow around.
On November 3rd, 6 people from 3 generations took care of us. The gradation of the trees was very beautiful and the open-air bath was the best. Breakfast was just some simple bread; I was expecting something more, but there was nothing. The facilities are a bit old, no, they're quite old. Why is it so bad???
A small but clean hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast includes coffee, bread, boiled eggs, and soup.
The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the old town, yet in a quieter area. It's near Hida Kokubunji Temple, home to the giant Gingko tree.
The price is excellent.
It's very close to the station, making travel very convenient. There's also a temple nearby.
Although the hotel is a bit old, the rooms are still quite clean and more spacious than typical business hotels. It's about a 10-minute walk from Takayama Station, and there are many restaurants nearby, making it quite convenient.
Perfect little hotel at a walkable distance from both the town center and the train station. Good service, cozy room, clean and convenient.
The room exceeded my expectations. It was listed as 9 square meters when I booked, but after checking in, I could easily fit two 26-inch suitcases without hindering movement. Me and my fiance stayed for 2 nights. We did not bring our dogs, but enjoyed the stay very much! Both the breakfast buffet and the dinner was tasty and varied. The private onsen was also nice and the staff were very friendly to us. We took the bus for hiking, which was no problem
Would definitely recommend for any dog lovers!
We took japanese style bedroom but the futons were super thin so uncomfortable. The private onsen was a bit smelly making the experience less enjoyable.
For the travel to reach the place, we struggle little to go by bus.
For the positive, the staff was amazing and helpful, the breakfast has lot of varieties for everyone. The room was super clean, spacious and very beautiful.
Spending time with dogs...
we travelled without a dog and it was fine, no smell or anything. but maybe the carpet isnt the best choice of floor with so many dogs😅 we just spent the night as it was convenient from the location for hiking, the room was quite old but okay. the staff was very friendly. the public onsen was not nice, it had a weird smell and we did not use it,
The hotel is located in nature in the mountains, it’s easy to find. This hotel is specialized in guests with dogs. Everything is focused on dogs. It’s quite an authentic, old hotel. All rooms have balconies with the view and sound of the small river and a lot of trees. In some areas it may smell a bit like dogs, but if you love pets, you wouldnt mind. The room was spacious, but don’t expect things...

It's a comfortable environment where only dog lovers gather, and we are very satisfied with the attentive staff.

Very good location. Very near to Takayama station and bus staion to Shirakawa-go. Have Jacuzzi and sauna room for relaxing. Good breakfast.
Hotel is located very near the train station and bus terminal. Takayama is a small town and accessible by foot. The old town and places of interest are within walking distance from the hotel.
Less than a 5-minute walk from the train and bus stations. Be aware that the hotel sign displays the English name, not the Chinese name as translated on the booking. The room was clean and well-equipped, just as expected.
very convinient location and clean hotel for a reasonable rate. Parking is available for an extra fee.
