I would definitely return. The staff is lovely, the cleanliness is impeccable, the place is beautiful, and the onsen they have is wonderful after days of hiking. It also comes with a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast. There's an area where you can help yourself to coffee and tea upon request, part of it is tatami-covered, with views of the garden, and it exudes a sense of tranquility.

A perfect, unique hotel in Takayama; we felt very comfortable. The private onsen is available daily for relaxation.

I stayed for one night.
The attitude of the male staff member at the front desk (Mr./Ms. **********) was extremely poor. He didn't even greet me, and I felt absolutely no sense of hospitality.
I will never use this hotel again.

Had a great time overall. A quaint little hotel not far from the city center, offering a nice natural hot spring in the garden. I chose the best room on the top floor and was not disappointed; while simple it offered all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was ok for the type of hotel, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Nothing not to like here

It is very hard to find the hotel as no street light at all , hotel should install spot light at its sign. Hard to see in the dark even 7 :30 pm in Fall seasons. Room is good size, only bathroom very small. But overall is cleaned. Smooth check in and out. Only inconvenience is we have to choose specific time to use onsen and breakfast time. Since we check in kinda late, no choice left for us. Ended up we could not use onsen facility. Breakfast was small portion with only 3 pieces of onigiri and small pieces of tamago and salmon. Should include bread of some sort. This hotel is run by Chinese management, not local Japanese.

The location is far from the JR station and quite secluded. I couldn't reach the front desk without the access code, making it impossible to check in. I immediately contacted Ctrip for assistance, but while customer service was still being contacted, the guest inside came out and opened the door. When I reached the front desk, no one was there. Ctrip's phone kept ringing, indicating that the front desk couldn't be reached. It wasn't until Ctrip contacted the manager that the receptionist finally arrived.
I had actually contacted Ctrip early in the morning on check-in to indicate my check-in time was in the evening, but they didn't provide me with the access code. It wasn't until I was turned away and someone opened the door, and then I reached the front desk, that I found the manager's phone number and the access code. What a confusing logic!
The receptionist's indifference made my stay a very poor experience, and I was concerned about safety. However, due to the tight weekend schedule, I couldn't find another hotel, so I had to make do with the one-night stay.
The breakfast was a set meal, small in portion and poor in taste.

Fantastic service by counter staff - came down late at night to help us check in, packed a quick delicious breakfast for us at last minute
Room was spacious and spotless - private room onsen was clean and felt good for our skins!
Amenities (lounge and common onsen) were great, well stocked and meaningfully furnished for a comfortable and authentic stay.

The hotel staff didn't really speak English, but were very helpful as much as they could. Free complementary breakfast which we didn't expect. It was delicious, also free coffee and soft drinks during our stay. Time for private onsen can be booked anytime.
Location is not the best, but we didn't mind walking a few minutes to the train station or the old town.
AC/heating was a bit difficult to manage for us as there was no English explanation. It turned off after 2-3 minutes, but finding out how to operate it with Google was fine in the end 😉
