Chisun Hotel Hiroshima in Hiroshima

The rooms are just a little bigger than other Japanese hotel rooms we have been so far. But it definitely makes a difference when travelling with a bicycle (and therefore have too much luggage). The bathroom had a little unpleasant smell. The staff was very friendly and there is a strong coffee for free in the lobby. Location is great, good restaurants and shops nearby.

Not sure what folk are going spending for £20/night, which I paid last minute for a twin room.

Comfortable bed, private bathroom, amenities and wardrobe provided.

Deserves a much higher rating. Just remember to ground yourself before clicking buttons in lift/do it through clothing to avoid an electric shock (lol).

The hotel was close to the street car stop making it convenient to travel. The room itself was clean!

The rooms are a bit worn. It was probably an old building, but it was renovated, and it feels like a long time ago. The air conditioning in the rooms is inconvenient; there are only three settings, and you don't know what the temperature is. Even on the lowest setting, the air conditioning was so cold that the room was freezing. The bathroom leaves much to be desired; everything is shabby, the toilet doesn't flush well, and there's no exhaust fan at all. It's impossible to stay in the bathroom for long; the steam becomes very stuffy.

Despite the downsides, we found the staff to be very, very helpful! This was the first time a Japanese employee spoke English very well and helped us with check-in. They always will help you if you ask them.

I'd especially like to mention the excellent breakfast! They had both Japanese and European cuisine, it was very tasty and there was plenty to choose from. If you book the day before, it will be 1,500¥, if you book the day before, it will be 1,700¥ yen.

Facilities and amenities are good value for the rate that waa paid. Streetcar/tram station literally in front of hotel. Check out process using automated machine was simple and quick.

Location is perfect. Right in the middle of the city.

Hotel located on the main shopping street and has the tram stop opposite. Tram 1 and 2 go from the station. They stored our luggage when we went away for one night. Room was quiet.
