HOTEL AMANEK in Asahikawa

The hotel is in a great location, just across the street from the JR station exit. The superior triple room was quite small; it was hard to even open one suitcase, let alone three. The breakfast quality was average, and guests had to cook their own noodles. I saw some guests coughing while preparing their food and not wearing masks. There were Chinese staff at the front desk; though they weren't overly friendly, their service was generally attentive. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, but the toothbrushes and razors were of low quality. I didn't get a chance to try the public bath due to time constraints.

This hotel has an amazing location, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. For the price, getting such a great location and breakfast is truly excellent. No wonder so many tour groups stay here! On the day we stayed, there were groups from Taiwan, China, and Thailand. I didn't get many photos.

The hotel is new and the location is great, just across the street from Asahikawa Station. There's also a Komeda cafe about a two-minute walk away, which is much less crowded than the one in Sapporo. I even found a glass mug there that was sold out in Sapporo! It's a good alternative for breakfast if you don't book the hotel's.

My child is seven, so they counted as an adult, and we booked a triple room. It was a bit pricey. It had three mattresses on a raised platform, which was quite spacious. We pushed the mattresses together to free up some space on the platform for our clothes; otherwise, it would have been a tight squeeze.

The bathroom was nice, and the entire room design was very smart. There's a public bath on the rooftop, which my husband and son enjoyed, while I preferred the privacy of soaking in the bathtub in our room.

The lobby has a co-working space and offers complimentary drinks and tea. We encountered a Chinese-speaking staff member during check-in, which was a pleasant experience.

The breakfast was pretty good. On the first day, we had to rush through it to head to Asahidake, but on the second day, we took our time and tried everything.

P.S. My child locked their beloved jelly in the safe and then forgot the code. We had to call a staff member to open it. I spoke English, the staff member spoke Japanese, and my child spoke Chinese. It was quite an adventure with everyone speaking different languages!

I was very impressed with this hotel. The location is excellent, close to the train station and a shopping mall. The staff were very helpful. There are lots of tourist information at the lobby which they can provide you. The hotel is new, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast is varied and delicious. The onsen is clean, and the lobby offers good drinks.

The hotel's location is super convenient. You can spot it right after exiting Asahikawa Station's North Exit. It's also really easy to catch buses to various attractions from here. There are tons of great restaurants nearby, and Aeon mall is right at the doorstep, making shopping very convenient. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The only downside is that the room is quite small, so you can't open two suitcases at the same time.

If you're just looking for a place to sleep, this hotel's location is excellent and convenient for getting around. However, if you're planning a 'chill' vacation where you spend most of your time lounging in the hotel, this place might disappoint. The soundproofing is terrible, the rooms are tiny, and the air conditioning is incredibly loud. Yet, if you turn it off, it gets cold, so I never felt well-rested. I'd suggest looking at other hotels; I won't be returning to this one.
